What is typical English foods, dinners...

Don't forget the Yorkshire pudding with your English breakfast lol

Anyhoo -

TheChosenOne - our fast food places have healthy options as well. And I wouldn't make your decision on all American foos just because you read one article about a greasy burger.

Just as anywhere, there are place to get unhealthy American food. But not all Americans eat that - I personally don't remember the last time I ate fast food. Many Americans are quite health conscious. Plus you can get pretty much any kind of food you want here...including Irish and English breakfast.

Word to the wise - don't buy into stereotypes unless you've actually experienced them.

My best friend moved to London in September, and she was telling me that when they do groceries they have to eat everything within three days. Why? Because the food in the UK isn't packed with preservatives like it is here in North America.

MUCH healthier way of living not ingesting all that garbage.

Traditionally Yorkshire Puds go with Roast Dinners.

Also about american food, its not from an article but from a documentary, saying how Britain is becoming a fat nation, they also featured Americans.

lol you should ask her what she is actually buying, because thats just silly. I can tell you that most of the contents of my fridge have been there for more than 3 days, and from experience my friends and family down south.

Ah yeah she must have been talking about roast dinner at the time - my bad.

My point about the article/documentary whatever is that you can't generalize about all Americans because you saw one item.

If you will reread my post on the subject, you will see that I was making a general statement about all stereotypes. However, it is one thing to say you don't like a certain kind of food; it's another to make generalizations about the people eating it.

If you have a problem with the moderating here, Faldor, please feel free to leave.

Same for me, but substitute days for weeks. 🙂. Although my fridge rarely has anything but beer and chocolate in it. I put some fruit and veg into the fridge once and it broke down in protest at my pathetic attempts at being healthy.

Well as a brit i thought i'd better put my two peneth in. I don't eat fry ups! I think they are rank. I usually have cereal or toast for breakfast. Occasionally if i have a hangover i have a sausage or bacon sandwich but i cook it myself and grill it. Less fat! I usually have salad or sandwiches for lunch and most of the time cook stuff like sausage casserole or spag bol for tea. Not all us brits eat traditional english food, I prefer italian, indian, mexican. They are much more interesting.
