What is your favorite episode of Buffy?

There is so much going on in this ep so many great things come together. Only for it to all be ripped apart ...brilliant
 
Narrowing it down to just one is pretty tough, but if we're discounting the Angel series, and I had to pick only one, I'd have to go with "Passion" from S2.

More than any other from any season I think, that's the episode that really dials everything up. The stakes get raised more than they ever had been, and the entire complexion of the entire show gets hugely altered. Angelus suddenly becomes THE villain of the entire series, and we go from wondering when the old Angel is coming back to seeing him become a sadistic monster apart from anything we'd seen on Buffy before.

Plus, it's just an awesome episode. The ending is fantastic. Angelus not only killing Jenny but laying the trap for Giles to find her was one of the most chilling moments of the series and for the first time we see an entirely new side to Giles when he cowboys up and storms the factory. On the lighter side, the chemistry between Angelus, Spike and Dru is hilarious. Plus, Angel's narration adds an incredible layer to it. I love, LOVE, this episode.

There are a lot of episodes that I came close to picking. "Becoming", "Surprise", "Innocence", "I only have eyes for you", "Band Candy", "Graduation Day", "Pangs", "The Gift", "Grave" and "Chosen" are all amazing, stand-out episodes that I never get tired of. And there are a number I left out. That isn't even touching on the Angel episodes (which I think the best of are just as good, if not better, than the best of Buffy).
 
God, this is so hard for me to decide. I love at least five episodes per season. But I'll try to narrow it down to the one that made a difference to me.

"Passion". This was the episode that truly set off my love for the show. It changed everything about the season, and the characters themselves were cast into a different light. The stakes got higher, emotions got higher, the story-writing was at its peak. If I hadn't watched this episode, everything about how I like the series might have been different. I might have just stopped when I reached the end of S2. But once I saw this episode, I wanted, I *craved* more.
 
This Year's Girl/Who Are You? -- though if you force me to count them as separate episodes, Who Are You is 1 and This Year's Girl is 2. I'm a huge fan of Faith, and I felt like this was the perfect way to pick up her story after the coma. Who Are You is also a lot of great acting by Sarah and Eliza, which makes a really good story even better. And it extends into Angel, which I don't think we're counting in this, but Five by Five and Sanctuary are even better, my favorite across both series. And I'm not saying that other episodes aren't amazing, just that I like these ones more than all the rest.
 
It'll always be "Once More With Feeling". Musical episodes are always my favorites in a show 🙂

I put Once More With Feeling at #3, but it's still quite amazing. Along with Dr. Horrible, I listen to the soundtrack to it at least once a day. But if not for my obsession with Faith, it would probably be #1.
 
Once More With Feeling. Although Chosen is really really good, and I also love Hush and Restless. And The Gift. And pretty much all of them so I'm gonna stick with OMWF 😛
 
Chosen - because it made me cry and smile. All was ok in the end even if some were lost or hurt they saved the day between them all working as a team. 🙂
 
I have a few that are all right at, or near, the top for me.

"Passion" is the best episode of Buffy, I think. "Innocence", "Amends", "Becoming" and "Graduation Day" are all amazing too. Can't leave out "Band Candy" either.
 
Ooh tough one... I'd have to make it a tie between "Becoming pt1 & 2" and "Earshot"
 
I have so many favourites! The one I probably watch the most and the one that sticks in my mind the most would have to be Becoming pt 2. Heartbreaking episode.

I really love Conversations With Dead People and the two with Vampire Willow and all the others mentioned in this thread. I feel kind of bad for playing favorites though.

Definitely one of my favourite ones.
"Grave," hands down. I love the dark Willow arc anyway, and Giles absolutely rocked in this episode.
 
This is difficult. A typical answer would be 'Once More, With Feeling' or 'The Body'. An annoying answer would be 'I have so many' and an accurate answer would be...what? I have so many. There I went with the annoying answer due to it's accuracy. I could say 'Wrecked' just for the scene in the wreckage where...😉 Or I could say 'Something Blue' because I never get tired of it's comedy. Or I could say 'Pangs' because I always seem to pull that one out to rewatch. Just too many evidently.
 
To be totally honest, one of the reasons I have such a hard time chosing just one is because I rarely love the whole episode. Having watched the show so many times I find myself fastforwarding many times to get to the parts I love. Such a bad fan, I know. Of course there's episodes when there's way more that I love than I don't. So I love a lot of episodes but the favourite one will change with my mood. So today I'll chose one that rarely gets mentioned in discussions like this, Intervention (S05E18). Buffybot :: red ::
