What is your favorite Joss death? (Major spoilers)

Out of all the Joss shows (excluding Cabin in the Woods...for obvious reasons), who had the single best death of em' all? It can be from Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse, Firefly or The Avengers. I stuck mostly with main characters, and not villains. If I forgot anyone please feel free to add them.

It's tough. If there's one thing Joss knows how to do better than anyone, it's kill characters. There are a number that stand out to me. Angel, Buffy, Doyle, Wes, Spike, Wash.

If you asked me tomorrow, I'd probably have a different answer, but I'm picking Wesley. After everything he'd endured, his final moments make me cry every time I see that episode. Doyle and Spike are beyond awesome too, but right now, Wes is my choice.

And of course, not choosing Cordy was super hard. She's one of my favorite characters and "You're Welcome" is one of the best episodes ever.

There have definitely been a lot of emotional deaths in the show. Angel, Buffys 2nd death and Wesleys definitely were the most emotional to me. The final scene for Wesley though when Illyria is like "Do you want me to lie to you now?" and he says yes gets me every time. Angel being sent to the hell dimension was a close 2nd to me and I really wish they took a little more time showing Buffys reaction to killing him. Let her put that cry of hers to good use.

Buffy's second death in "The Gift". It's so beautifully done, that it makes me actually break down and cry.

this was such a hard choice!! Eventually I chose Joyce, purely because it's so real and emotional. It gets me everytime. Second would be Buffy in The Gift and third would have been Fred.

I went with Buffy her death stopped all dimensions from caving in on each other and Hell breaking loose. Which she done AFTER whooping the ass of a GOD 😛

Wesley's hands down. It is one of the two senes from any fictional anything that I have cried from.

On "Buffy," Angel's death in Season 2. On "Angel," Wes' death in Season 5. Both were beautifully written and executed, and, tragic as they both were, there was a very powerful feeling of "right-ness" to both of them. Buffy had no choice but to sacrifice Angel in order to save the world, and, in a very real way, death, or at least an escape from what his life had become, was what Wes longed for. The idea, whether true or not, that he would be reunited with Fred was the perfect touch.

Buffy. It was built up slowly over the course of the show until season 5 and it just seemed 'right' in terms of development. Was incredibly sad but lovely in a weird kind of way. I love season 6 but I'd have been happy if it had ended with season 5.

I would also like to add an honorable mention to Dr. Saunders/ Whiskeys on Dollhouse S01E13 Epitaph part 1. She was just so pure an innocent and stayed behind to turn on all of what I assume is carbon dioxide to poison the people that were trying to kill them. Her just sitting down with her legs dangling over the wall like a child in her doll state 🙁 She probably just felt like she was falling asleep,it was just sad.

As far as most emotional and best-written, I think it was Wash from "Firefly". He was at his prime and all of a sudden- BAM!- he gets impaled. It was shocking and sad, and I never saw it coming.

Bennett in Dollhouse. I was literally in shock for a good couple of minutes that I had to rewind the DVD to just after her death because I missed everything that had just happened. Just lost all concentration! It just happened so quickly, it was like Tara all over again!

Its gotta go to Wesley. He harbored a crush on Fred since the start of the third season, then he sees her being with Gunn and then he loses all his friends and isolates himself. When we finally think Wesley might catch a break in season 5, Fred is killed off. Surely no one else has had a worse hand dealt to them

This was a hard decision but I had to go with Buffy, mainly because although it was a huge loss to those closest to her, for her it was the biggest relief of her life. She saved the world, sacrificed herself and was rewarded for it in her afterlife.

I also have strong feelings, of course, about Joyce, also Doyle, Spike, Jenny and Fred.
