Mr. Pointy has gone and made me hungry with his sandwich thread. I'd like to know what dish you cook the best when you do the cooking.

My best is smoked mozzarella lasagna, layered with lots of spicy arribiatta sauce. Served with a fresh caesar salad (only real bacon bits need apply) and a bottle of tasty Italian red wine.

What is your signature dish?

Spaghetti Bolognaise a la student residence - anyone who's ever been a student will probably recognise this minced(ground) beef and tomato based ragu. I feel that I do it quite well and Mrs P agrees (though it's advisable to have waterproofs and a sou' wester handy when we're eating it - the sauce goes everywhere when we get those spaghetti forks a-spinnin'🙂).
I can also knock out a passable bacon, courgette (zucchini) and tomato based sauce that goes well with a plate of pasta.
I also enjoy cooking Indian stuff - but I'm strictly recipe book with that. The pasta sauces tend to be more freestyle...

Your lasagne recipe sounds pretty darn tasty KD...

ohhhhh you guys are making me hungry 🙁

I dont cook much and its nothing fancy.... I can make some good speghetti and some roast and little things like that but i'm great at makin home made strawberry pie...

I have a hangover and have literally just been sick (yummy) but after reading this im really hungry 😀

I can cook a nice rissoto i just bung anything i can find into it.. well almost anything...i also love making spaghetti bolognaise and paella mmmm i going off to eat lots now (and probably throw up again) 😀

All I can cook...thats succesful...is toast...and sometimes I burn that...
Sorry, but some people, like me, are just useless in the Kitchen...

I totally disagree!! Chocolate cake is a food group all to itself, and I would eat it for any meal as an acceptable substitute!

Mr. P: Pasta is made for innovation, eh? You're dish sounds yummy...the trick for the lasagna is the smoked mozza...makes everything taste fab! And if you screw it up, an extra bottle of wine helps with the forgetting!

Coolies...thanks KD...well...I guess chocolate cake is my signature dish lol...

My signature dish would be anything buried under any kind of hot sauce. I'm addicted to hot sauces.

You're going to think this is gross, but on second thought I would have to say my signature dish would be fried eggs, soaked in tabasco sauce, sprinkled with chopped hot peppers and grated cheese.

No-one ever asks for it twice, but they do remember breakfast at my place.

I cant eat anything spicy and i hate that i cant, my threshold just wont let me i have tried plenty of times but just spend the next hour with my head under the cold tap 🙁

I am queen of the Pasta Bakes / Casseroles.

Now, when I make a pasta bake, it's not just spaghetti all stuck together, no sir. It's always tasty and inventive... Just all stuck together. Sometimes I make it with spinach, sometimes with ten different cheeses, sometimes with eggplant, and sometimes with whatever's in the kitchen...

lol i cant really cook anything everytime i go near the kitchen something sets on fire or burns hehe 😀
but i think that i can cook pasta pretty well since im not sure that you can burn that.

I make one hell of a macaroni and cheese! I use Kraft Dinner but make it in the microwave instead of the stove. I think it gives it a little something extra.

i make spicy spaghetti.

its regular pasta but the sauce is 2/3 pasta sauce 1/3 BBQ sauce then add black pepper crushed red pepper garlic salt and Cajun spice.

It must be eaten straight out of the pot with a fork be cause it will melt most bowls. heh.
