I tried to find a thread for thiz question and only found one regarding the entire cast. So, what show has the best female ensemble? My vote personally goes to the ladies of Firefly.

Um.... its a tough one for me. I do love Echo, Sierra, Dr.Saunders, Bennett, November/Madeline/Mellie (sp), and even DeWitt. Buffy, Faith, and Willow are all favorites of mine as well. Cordy in Angel is a great character as well... I think im gonna go with the female cast of... Dollhouse!!!!

I went with Buffy, but it was tough. Buffy is the only female character on BTVS that I really love, but I was a huge fan of Cordy and Fred on Angel. However, it's pretty hard to not pick Buffy here. I mean, in S6 the entire cast is female after Spike and Xander.

I voted Buffy. They have Buffy, Willow, Tara, Anya and Cordelia.
That's really an well balanced female cast. Strong, intelligent, funny, sarcastic and sometimes rather stupid.

Buffy, but I think that if Firefly ever got another season or two ( 🙁 ) then it would beat Buffy. There was a lot of promise in the female characters that was explored somewhat, but not the extents of those in Buffy across the series as a whole.
In Buffy there were multiple examples of female strength, intelligence, equality and the idea that you didn't have to be seen as weak even without powers got the whole feminist message through I think. Even characters like Tara and Joyce show that.

I went with Angel as all the main cast from BTVS crossed over to Angel at some point so Angel has the best women 😀

I can't choose between Buffy and Firefly. As much as I love Fred and Cordy, I don't like the other girls in Angel enough to vote for them. As for Dollhouse well I wasn't a big fan of Sierra and November...
In Buffy we have

Zoe, Kaylee, River, Inara
(I'm talking major reccuring character here)
I think I'll choose Firefly because I love them all equally. In Buffy I prefer the Summers girls a bit more.

Very tough question. I honestly don't think I can give an answer. I love most of them (female characters) in different ways and to different degrees.
Since you're asking about the cast (actresses) is it more a question about quality or how much we like the characters? Best actors/actresses doesn't always have the characters I like the most.
That's one way of looking at it. If I only listed the ones that I really liked seeing on Angel it'd be much shorter
