What languages do you know?

English is my main language. 🙂 I studied Spanish throughout elementary school and high school, but I've forgotten most of it throughout the years. I also took a year of French in college and wanted to pursue it more if I had time. Maybe someday I'll pick it up again. Rosetta Stone would be a good investment. 😀

Oh, you expressed yourself fine! 😀 A few of my friends who know sign language know multiple kinds (American, British, and Spanish), so I was curious about that. 🙂

Yeah, I'm going to get Rosetta Stone to learn German, because I heard it's really good. Also, I got this CD that teaches you Spanish a few years ago, and now I can use it because my new DVD player is better than the old one. Or I might just use it on my laptop, seeing as I don't have any CD players anymore. But I want to learn alot of European languages because I want to live in Europe once I graduate high school as well as college.
 
Arabic, English and French. Although I stopped speaking/writing French a few years now I'm afraid I'll forget the language.

Yes. I'd like to say that French is, too, but I don't use it as much as Arabic.

THANK YOU! And despite the fact that they included the clause "Oh, we'll exclude Native languages from this sort of discrimination" it's not as much the idea that an "official language" is a bad thing in itself, it's the connotations of cultural superiority that go along with it. Our state (VGirl's and mine) is a state full of immigrants. Not like Texas or California, mind you, but we have a HUGE Hispanic and Vietnamese population, not to mention our 39 officially recognized tribes, most with their own official languages. This bill to make English our "official language" is just a big F U by the majority conservative republican population because they want all these Natives to stop getting all their special priviliges and all these beaners to go back cross the river where they came from and stop taking our jobs. No offense to you, Mr. middle class holier than thou snide White man, but when was the last time YOU wanted to go roof houses in the middle of summer with it being 105 degrees outside for $5.00 an hour?

ANYWAYS I speak English (obviously), and some Choctaw. Getting better with my Choctaw, can have a basic conversation, read it, and understand it if the speaker goes slow enough (lol, it's kind of like how Spanish words seem to run all together...it goes really fast). I can speak/understand VERY LITTLE Spanish and French, and can usually identify which language a person is speaking even if I don't understand it, but I wouldn't call myself proficient by any means.
 
I started learning a few Spanish words with my Spanish CD and packet. But Arabic sounds interesting too, and I heard it's one of the 3 hardest languages to learn, so I kind of want to learn that too.
 
I speak English as my first language, and I took 2 years of German in high school; but the class was a joke so I barely remember any of it! Ich bin Abby! I am in Latin III right now which is strictly translating real Latin from Aeneas all the way to Augustus. I'm taking Latin because I have a hard time hearing/speaking new languages and in Latin, all we get graded on is translating and grammar.

And I'm taking Latin instead of Greek because a lot of the spells used in Buffy are in Latin :3
