So many ideas, it's hard to know where to start (and to avoid politics)....

I feel like we should have a law requiring high school kids to take a civics course. There could be an incentive like taking drivers education, that if you take the course, you can start voting a couple years earlier. It seems like so many don't understand how the government works or even who their representatives are. I think it would encourage political engagement among younger people, too.

Social media outlets are fined for allowing hate groups to exist on their platforms with no consequence. KotakuInAction, racist groups, misinformation magnates, and the list goes on. Guarantee you they’d all be gone within a day.

I don't know about specific laws, but I WOULD make it less difficult for those wrongly convicted of a crime to get a chance to plead their case, with open ears--especially in the cases of jury misconduct and Brady violations (for those outside of the US, if the prosecution does not disclose exculpatory evidence). There is literally no reason a person should sit in jail for DECADES when there is evidence that supports they are innocent.

All media coverage must be transparent and tell the truth so that people will be informed, they can then base opinions based on that.
No one gets a pass from the law, no matter who you are and/or who you know.
People who work with vulnerable populations (elderly, children, etc) need to be screened beforehand.

To help with food wastage I'd require all foods to have two dates on them.

1) A "Use By" date. This needs to be a realistic timeframe after which a company no longer guarantees the food is safe to consume. There absolutely should be some cushion, but not ones that are as unrealistic as currently used.

2) A "Use After Opening" day frame. Pretty much same as above except this is the number of days after opening that the product is still safe to consume.

If a company wants to add a "Best By" date or a "packaged on' date, that's fine. But the first two would prevent a huge amount of waste. A study in 2019 found that 84% of people throw away food that has hit the "Best By" date, although the food may have still had weeks, months, or even years where it could still be eaten.

Oh, what the hell......I would pass a law that says that any lottery winnings are NOT taxable by any Federal, State, or City government , and any capital gains earned on said winnings is also exempt for taxation. I you think about it logically, the prize money comes from the total ticket sales, and those tickets were bought with money that has already been taxed. 💲🤑💰
