What made you a Buffy fan?

It's the show of my childhood I'd say. I was like 11 when I started watching it, and I became kinda obsessed. I loved every single episode and I was so fascinated by the whole girl-power-thing. And now, 7 years later I like it even more because I interpret it in another way.. and yeah.. I Looove BtVS!

I always like shows that are more paranormal,sci-fi,fantasy,supernatural-like. Because I feel like that's where I belong. Where I fit in.

I was attracted to the wit and because it's about vampires. I was in middle school when I started watching.😀

"Who are you planning to meet in the middle of the night, Spike and Drusilla?"

This is a quote from Gilmore Girls. I love Gilmore Girls and I go on a website that researches every pop culture references they say on this show. This, obviously, is a BTVS reference. I've heard about Buffy in a lot of things so I decided....why not? And well, I never turned back 😀

One word: Xander.

I watched a few scenes here and there and thought it was a silly show that wasn't for me, and then I saw this attractive dark-haired guy and I was interested. The moment that really pulled me to the show was Xander lying to Buffy in Becoming, I thought, hmmm interesting character.

"Close your eyes"

Was channel surfing one evening and landed on Buffy just as she was hefting her sword to chop off Angelus' head. I was gona keep going but then the light filled his eyes and there was Angel.

That was it. Hook, line and sinker.

I didn't know what show it was, had no idea who these people were, how they got into this situation but as I watched the scene play out I knew that they HAD to be together. The chemistry was palpable.

That was the beginning of me being both a Buffy fan and a Bangel shipper.

There was one scene in the movie that I thought was incredibly funny.. I was a fan after that.

I quite liked watching it from the start, but it was the series of episodes, helpless, the zeppo, bad girls, consequences and doppelgangland that made me realise this was show was something special, the range of these episodes, and the uniqueness of each is just amazing. There's no predictable format in buffy, each episode has a life of its own.

Also, being from Britain, the episode where she wore the union jack top, I think it was either choices or enemies, was a moment I remember that got me hooked on buffy. 😀

Hahah how awesome! xD
Hmm well if I had to be precise the thing that got me to watch Buffy in the first place was boredom when I lived in France. It was the end of the semester, my friends had gone home - I had no TV, I'd cancelled my internet connection... I literally had nothing to do.

So I bought the first season of Buffy, never having seen an episode before but having been recommended (read: nagged) to watch the series by two friends. I enjoyed the first season and went out to buy the second... which thoroughly hooked me - I think it was School Hard that really made me sit up and take notice (or would that have been Spike? 😉)

I spent the next few days living like a recluse in my uni room, only going out to get food from the supermarket and to dash back and forth between Fnac and Leclerc to buy the rest of the seasons of BtVS and then the first two seasons of AtS.

😀

Boredom in France? Quelle horreur! :D
I started watching in the 4th season. I loved Willow's character because she seemed a lot like me. And Xander, oddly, is a LOT like my twin in the earlier seasons. That's probably what hooked me. I could see Willow and Xander as similar to Jenn and Joe. (Without the romance aspect, obviously, but there's that closeness.) That's really what drew me in, but Willow's why I stayed. And I just became captivated by that whole world, and how female-dominated the show really is.

That and it wasn't like anything I'd ever seen before. There's not really a certain demographic that the show is geared towards. Some may argue it's for the teens to twenty-somethings, but the show is very mature. It didn't feel like I was being talked down to, or like I was getting dumber watching it.

The Willow Xander thing is probably why I love the scene in my banner so much. Joe would be the only person that could talk me down from ending the world...
