What Made you Happy today?

Thanks to some generous birthday money (and saving on my part) I bought myself a Kindle which should get here by Wednesday. I'm very very very excited about it, already trying to find all the good "free" books I can get from Project Gutenberg, and FreeKindleBooks.com. (So far: Dickens, Austen, Poe, Shakespeare, Bronte... any other public domain-y suggestions?)
 
I went to go see Kevin Smith tonight. 😀 We were quite close to the stage, and he was so funny. :heart:
 
The wonderful things my lady said to me today, and also watching Airplane! with my best friends.
 
Not sure why I liked it so much but when I got up on one of my breaks from my reading session I saw this:

Not the best pics I know but at least they're proof enough. And I really don't want snow yet but since I guess it'll be gone tomorrow or later today I should say I'm glad I managed to see it. And the snow was actually falling as I took the pics but that's hard to see.

Haha, forgot to say, he came out on stage in a kilt. It didn't quite suit him...
 
This wasn't quite "today", but there's been a feud of sorts going on at work. The piped-in radio has been playing "I'll Be There", and they're all arguing over whether it's the Jackson 5/MJ version or the Mariah Carey version. It got to the point that when they were dead the other night at the store, I got a call (on my day off) asking me; "Nate, who did you think it was" and I replied ".... this is why you called me? (In a slightly annoyed tone) Mariah Carey". Anyway the boss was dead sure it was Michael Jackson, and I proved that it was Mariah Carey. I really didn't care either way, but he was getting a little cocky so it was funny to prove him wrong.
 
The moon. When I got out this morning, it was a crisp, cold, clear morning (-2'ish, or 28'ish if you prefer Fahrenheit), and the waning moon was a bright sickle against a sky so deeply indigo it seemed nearly black. There wasn't a cloud to be seen, only sparkling stars and the bright moonlight.

I've been ill in bed since yesterday evening and this afternoon my boyfriend bought me up a single rose he'd picked from the garden in an empty cider bottle vase (he knows me too well). It was super sweet and totally made me smile. Now it's on my bedside table making me feel better 🙂

I just got home from an exam and checked the answer key online. And....I kicked ass 😀 Out of 40 questions, I only got one wrong! This is my best exam EVER 😀
I really have no idea how this happened, lol. There was so much material again that I didn't read...well I guess at least what I read I knew well enough.

Stumbled across this grup on fb. Think I need to join. 😉 Makes me proud of being a swede if anything.



God Hates Sweden.
In 1944, homosexuality was legalized in Sweden. Not only was that vile sin legalized in this God-forsaken country, Sweden embraces it so that it is considered to be one of the most "gay-friendly" countries in Europe and maybe even the world. If you didn't think this country was filthy enough, don't worry, they will never make you think that again. They hold a yearly fag pride parade known as the Stockholm Pride Parade...



And in kind of related news. The church in Sweden have accepted gay marriage. Before they just accepted some kind of partnership but from now on marriage is ok. Way late if you ask me but better late than never I guess.

That's great! I know this'll sound ignorant but I'm unsure whether gay marriage is legal in the UK or not? I'll look it up haha :P

God Hates Sweden is insane =) Oh and yes the marriage, now we "all" have it, now let's abolish it once and for all!
