This can be applied to Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse.

What made you start watching the aforementioned shows?

I started with Buffy because a friend told me it was good and I was in a vampire phase (still am, ha ha). I started season one and emailed her, "Really!? This show is lame!" But I stuck with it and got sucked in when Angel turned into Angelus. I watched Angel as a natural progression from Buffy, and I watched Firefly and Dollhouse because I figured if Joss did them they must be good (and they were!).

For me it was too much spare time in a foreign country, where I had no internet and no TV and all my friends had already gone home.

I was in France, had nothing to do and so went and bought all seven seasons of BtVS and watched them within a week or so, then went out and bought the first two seasons of AtS.

I remember being torn between buying BtVS and Supernatural, but in the end went with Buffy after the insistence of a couple of friends. Glad I did, as I've just finished season one of SPN, and whilst I like it, it hasn't 'hooked' me in the way BtVS did.

SPN is great though, isn't it? Season 2 is much better.
Buffy, I'd seen on and off from season 2 on, but it wasn't untill I saw a random episode (in season 3) where Angel comes back and I really wanted to know how it happened and was hooked.

Angel was a no brainer as it was a spin off and was on after Buffy on SkyOne.

Firefly I didn't give a chance to I heard it was a space show and I hated like Star Trek and Star Wars and just assumed it was another. So never watched it on TV, but then Serenity came out in the Cinema and I loved it, so got the series straight away and it ended up being possibly my favorite!

Dollhouse I was excited for from the moment it was announced, by then I knew that I liked everything Whedon does so I wanted to watch from the moment it started on TV!

Well, I was in either 2nd or third grade I believe. My sister had watched them several years earlier, and wanted to watch them again. I remember going to the library and checking them out with my mom, and she told me it was a fun and silly high school t.v. show about a girl named Buffy. I saw it (episode "Ted"), it scared me, I didn't start watching again for another year. By then my family was on Season Five, so that's when I started watching. I saw the next few seasons, love 'em, and a couple years later bought seasons 6+7. A year after that I FINALLY bought them all, so... Yup, I watched because my sister was watching it. 😀

Firefly: My sister went to this pre-college thing a couple summers ago and come home talking about this great show they watched there. She promptly went out to buy it and forced me to watch with her. I was addicted since Serenity (Pilot).

Buffy: Angel comes on TV reeeeaaaally early, around the time my dad does his workouts, so he became a watched. And at some point, he decided he wanted to see where the show started and so he started watching Buffy and asked me to join him. The first two seasons were on Hulu and by The Pack, I was watching 3 a day. I got to Season 3, found no more episodes, and spent a large portion of my money on The Chosen Collection.

Angel: Once I was done with Buffy, I turned to Angel. I didn't feel like waking up early to watch with my dad, so when my dad asked if there was anything I wanted (he'd won this teaching award and got money and bought us each something), I asked for the series of Angel.

Dollhouse: I learned Joss had another show. End of story. 🙂

I randomly found an Innocence rerun on tv one day that caught my attention.
After that i started watching s4 on telly too, Harsh light/In the dark was my first full episodes i seen.
Basically i fancied Buffy and thought Spike was cool as, that got me addicted instantly.

I remembered watching Buffy when I was younger so I figured I'd watch the whole series back in November.
I did and I was hooked.
I didn't want to watch Angel at first because I heard some of the s/ls and thought they were lame. I also remember not caring for it when I was younger,
but I gave in. Just finished last night; I LOVED it too.

Haven't watched any other Whedonverse shows.
I've seen Dollhouse before but I didn't really like it too much.

This can be applied to Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse.

What made you start watching the aforementioned shows?

Buffy was lent to me me by a co-worker when I was home sick. After watching both Buffy and Angel, I went in search for other shows by the same guy...adn that led me to Dr. Horrible and Firefly, and I've been watching DH religiously since it aired.

One day I was staying with my aunt and she was watching Buffy, and I sat down to see what it was (she was watching season 1 and I remember asking her All these questions lol). And have been hooked since then, I know MORE about Buffy than her lol.

And after Angel left in Season 3, I started watching Angel with her 🙂.

Buffy-As I've said many times before, my first Buffy episode was "Once More With Feeling." What grabbed me in that episode was the way Buffy and the blond guy with the leather trench coat (at that time, I had no idea who or what Spike was) worked so well together. It impressed me then, and it still does. Whether it was the actors or the script, the two just seemed to balance each other perfectly.

Angel- Never really grabbed me until Season 5, and only then because there was no Buffy to watch. After watching for awhile, however, I did begin to appreciate the character for his own merits.( Actually, the further away from Buffy he got, the better I liked him.)

Firefly-I never watched this series until after seeing the movie, and I loved every minute of every episode. Gene Roddenberry once said that what he had wanted to do with the original "Star Trek" was to make a western ("Wagon Train" was the example that he used) in outer space, but that the network had never let him do it. Joss succeeded where Gene failed, and the result was well worth the wait.

Dollhouse-I've watched it and enjoyed it enough, but I can't really call myself a fan. I just never connected with it enough for that.

Buffy: I vaguely remember one of my close friends in primary school was very into Buffy. She talked about it, a lot, and eventually I ended up watching it. I fell in love with the show, and from there...Well, here I am? Strangely enough, she's no longer a fan. She did her job of getting me into the fandom. 😉

Angel: Mostly because I was a fan of Buffy, and I heard that Angel had his own spin-off show, I decided to give it a try, deciding before hand it 'wouldn't be as good as Buffy' and was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it.

Firefly: I think it was for my thirteen birthday? I asked for the DVD boxset. I'd read topics here, and random things on google, about Firefly and decided I wanted to give it a shot, even though I wasn't sure if I liked the plotline, I just liked the fact it was a Joss show. I'm glad I saw both Firefly and Serenity, because I fell in love with them both, even though I didn't think I would. 😀

Dollhouse: It was hyped up a lot online before hand. I remember reading all kinds of things on here, Whedonesque, places like that. I ended up watching the first episode online after the US release date. Again, just because it was a Joss show.

To be honest, if I hadn't watched Buffy and become a Whedon fan, I don't think I'd have heard of, let alone watched, any of his other shows.

Buffy - Because of SMG. She was my favorite actress when I was around 11. And I googled her a lot so I found BtVS. I never knew what it's like. Never thought about watching it. Plus, they didn't sell the DVD in my country till 5 years ago. I rent it first. My first episode was Reptile Boy and I was hooked by Halloween. 🙂

Angel - Season 1 was on TV about 7 years ago. And my first episode of Whedonverse ever was Five By Five, followed by Sanctuary. :yay: I really had a crush on Faith from day 1 just because of her looks. Then I never watched Angel again till season 2 and 3 was on TV 2 years ago. I really liked Darla storyline so I bought all the seasons.

Firefly - Because many Big Bad from Buffyverse are here. 😛 I watched Serenity first and thought it's really good.

Dollhouse - Because of Joss and Eliza. Sounds shallow, but now I'm in love with the show.

Buffy - I don't no, saw the promo for it, looked good, and I just got into it.

Angel - When Buffy was done I started watching it. I got really into it when the character Fred came.

Started with buffy because i was always into vampires and vampire movies i watched it as it originally aired on tv for the most part. Then i guess the reruns on fx after school. I remember seeing chosen for the first time and just being completely mind-blown.

Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse all because they were Whedon-made so they must be good, and boy were they.

I started with Buffy when I was about 6, and I mostly fell in love with in because of SMG. Angel came after Buffy and I started to watching it 🙂 I never watched other two showes 🙂

Buffy- I started watching since i was 7/8 years old. My big sis was really into it, the first episode i ever watched was 'Hush' and waow i was creeped out. LMao.
Then my mum started getting into it, and we used to watch it on tv all the time. 🙂 I can still remember the day season6 was airing. aha.

Angel- I was so attached to Buffy for years, i never really got into angel until the third/fourth season was out. I even watched Tru Calling before Angel 😵

Firefly- I'd saw Serenity the year it came out and never really liked it(probs cos i was much younger) i love it now though. I'd never saw Firefly until a little while ago, okay like a year ago. I'd saw random episodes here and there, i never actually watch the last episode until like a few months ago. Everyone kept on going on about it, so i thought i'd give it a go. 😛

Dollhouse- The day i heard about it online i waited and waited for it to be aired. I remember running down the stairs to tell my mum, LMao. I was like *AHJOSSISDOINGANOTHERSHOW and with ELIZADUSHKU OHMAGOD*
aha, and i cried like a baby when it ended, ha.

My little story...

Back in '99 I worked with a girl who wouldn't come to the bar with the rest of us Tuesday nights, because she "couldn't miss her Angel". When she explained this further, I laughed in her face. I've never been a big fan of television.

Then in December of '07 I was able to acquire the entire 144 episodes of Buffy that some guy had shrunken down to fit on an portable media player...so they fit on just 3 DVD's. I really didn't plan on actually watching - just thought I could say I owned the entire series, without a lot of effort/expense.

About a week later I was sitting around bored and had time to waste, so I decided to watch "Welcome To" and "The Harvest". 3 days later I had finished Season One.

The only reason I started watching Season 2 was because of SMG's performance in "Prophecy Girl". I wanted to see where they were going to go with the show after the Master. I was also just a bit curious about what would happen between Buffy and Angel. (big Bangel fan here as it turns out)

I made it to "School Hard" and thought Dru and Spike were a fantastic addition. They were the only reason I decided to watch until the end of Season 2.

Then after being hit with "Innocence" and "Passion" and "Becoming Part 2" (I bawled at the end...and I never cry)...really the whole back-half of the season, that was it. I resolved to watch the whole series...and then of course watching Angel the Series was a natural progression.

I started watching Buffy from when it first aired, so I was hooked from the first ep. Just can't remember the reason why I decided to watch it, maybe it replaced something in that time slot I watched. Anyway, I'm glad I gave it a go. 😀 I remember being dead excited when Angel was starting, since I loved his character, and Firefly and Dollhouse I watched since I was a fan of Joss' other two shows.

I first started watching Buffy with my sister, when I was about eleven. I didn't really understand all of it, but she was a big SPike fan, so I saw all of the best Spikey eps. Then, about 5 months ago I saw Angel on the Sci Fi channel, and have been completely hooked ever since. However I would have flicked right past Angel if I hadn't recongnised some of the characters from Buffy, so tbh it's all down to ma big sis 😛
