Been having some thoughts, and wanted to bounce them off others' minds. Might be spoilery for those who haven't gotten up until the latest season 8 issue.
BUT
I was thinking how the summary for TOYL Part 3 or 4 says that an old enemy from the past (obviously assuming DW) has lasted hundreds of years to bring down the last two Slayers.
What if one of those Slayers is NOT Buffy at all, but Harth and Fray? Hence my subject question. Isn't what makes a Slayer, a Slayer the fact that they have the physical aspects as well as the mental, dream connections to the other Slayers?
Both aspects seem to be important in the identity of a Slayer, so what makes Harth any less a Slayer than Fray? To me if he weren't considered partially a Slayer then neither would she.
The twin deal seems to be nature jumping in and working with the Chosen line to create a new evolution by allowing boys to be chosen as well, or it is nature and the Chosen line conflicting, causing yet another anomoly in the forces surrounding the line - again stemming back to Buffy.
With that said, DW told Harth that things in his time would cause his time to come. It's been confirmed by Harth that DW has been playing everyone, so she doesnt seem to be on any one side. It stands to reason that she's using everyone for her own personal deal and that it means nothing, but that line sticks out like a sore thumb to me more than any other one. It feels true and important.
I don't think Buffy is the target. This is a futureless Buffy that Buffy has traveled to. In this future she has been dead hundreds of years and there isn't any clear reference to her in history. DW is sad that Buffy is feeling the world's loss and her failure, and DW doesn't seem to want Buffy dead so much as to use her to cause some kind of battle between Harth and Fray...if Buffy dies in the process then hey so be it...afterall, she's (DW) dark like that, ha.
But TOYL sees like a self standing arc to me that may contribute to the overall arc in that Buffy gets to see the future she's created, but the big action is about and going to be between the "last" two Slayers: Harth and Fray.
