What makes you cry?

There are 2 different kinds of crying, IMO. Sad cry, and happy cry. What made you cry (if at all) in Buffy/Angel, for whatever reason?

For me, happy cry comes out when I see Buffy and Spike in "Touched", lying together on the bed, looking at each other's eyes and the "Only Love" song is playing in the background.

Even though I'm a total Spuffy fan, "I will remember you", when Buffy and Angel cry and Buffy says there's not enough time... that makes me cry (pain cry). And also "Becoming part 2, when Buffy kills Angel and then she starts crying, and "Full of Grace" is in the background.

I always cry at Spikes thin in Touched. I cry all the way through The Body.

I'm in class so I can't think now... But I'll come back to this thread later. Almost everyhing makes me cry, and I cry A LOT.

There were only three times BtVS made me cry...

During Anya's 'I don't understand!' speech in 'The Body'. The rest of the ep didn't get to me, but that did.

Buffy's death in 'The Gift' - but not her actual death, it wasn't until they showed the shot of Spike breaking down crying that I got tears in my eyes.

And Spike's death, pretty much from the moment he and Buffy clasped hands until he turned to dust. 🙁

Nothing on AtS made me cry.

Oh man! A lot of stuff makes me cry 😛

Sad Cry: Oz leaving, Angel's death, Doyle's death, Fred's death, Cordy's death, Wesley's death, Buffy's death, Tara's death, Jenny's death, Joyce's death, etc! You get the idea, lol. 😛

Happy Cry: Twillow in The Gift, Buffy and Xander making up in Seeing Red, the end of Unleashed with all of Angel's gang hanging around in his office, Xander telling Buffy she's his hero, Wesley trying to burn Lilah's contract in Home, and a lot more I can't remember, lol.

I haven't really properly cried but i did have tears in my eyes when Buffy sacrificed herself in the Gift.

Hm, a good amount of things do. The Body was certainly a teary episode, especially the Dawn breakdown. And that was the sad kind of teary. 😉

Family always makes me cry... But in a good, proud way. 🙂

Hm, Ats... The final Darla scene in Lullaby is definitely a tear-jerker. As is The Trial. You're Welcome was a tad bit melancholy, but in a wistful way. 🙂

Any negative scene for Cordy brings tears to my eyes. 😉 The Wish comes to mind, as does Lovers Walk.

My mind is totally blank right now lol. I'll post more later. 😀

- Becoming part 2. But not that scene. It's when Buffy leaves the town.(Sad)
- Faith begging Angel to kill her.(Sad)
- Spike's death.(Sad - but everything changed after I knew he'll be in Ats S5.)
- Anya's death.(Sad - but now Dawn's scream kinda distract me.)
- I Will Remember You.(Sad)
- Hero.(Sad)
- The last scene of Home.(Sad? Happy? I can't tell.)
- Dawn's "What am I? Am I real? Am I anything?"(Sad)
- Buffy telling Dawn about Joyce in The Body.(Sad)

Always cry:
- The Gift.(Sad)
- Darla staking herself.(Sad)
- Whenever they play "A Place Called Home" in Shells.(Sad)
- The Trial.(Sad)
- Buffy and Xander in Seeing Red.(Happy)
- Buffy,Willow,Xander,Giles,Dawn at the high school in Chosen.(Happy)
- You're Welcome.(Sad :cry🙂
- Wesley burning Lilah's contract.(Happy)
- Fresley + Illyria in Not Fade Away.(Sad)

This isn't related to any specific episode but my birthday was last month and my little sister (she is 10) decided she would get me an Angel action figure. Oh man, I couldn't stop. Gave her a big hug and she was cracking up.

I might just be a big baby lol but I cry alot while watching these two shows. It's gonna be a long list.

Buffy

Season 1: In Prophecy Girl when buffy is yelling at Giles and then she gets quiet and says "I'm sixteen years old. I don't want to die." That makes me cry. That's like my favorite Buffy (character) scene. And when Buffy goes to Willow's room and Willow's crying.

Season 2: In Passions when Jenny dies, and then when Giles Finds Jenny, and when Willow finds out and starts sobbing. Passions is a very teary episode for me.

Season 3: The first time I watched The Prom when Buffy cries in Willow's lap that made me cry. At the end of Graduation Day when they all rip off their robes that makes me cry but happy tears.

Season 4: Wild at Heart, god when Oz leaves, especially the first time, it near broke my heart. I adored him. Also when he leaves for good at the end of New Moon Rising.

Season 5: Into the Woods, I'm not a huge Briley fan but it's so sad that Buffy never makes it. The Body, I cry throughout pretty much the entire episode. Forever just really the last scene between Buffy/Dawn. The Gift obviously when Buffy sacrifices herself. Also when Willow gets Tara back, but happy tears.

Season 6: The end of Bargaining when Dawn is trying to convince Buffy not to jump. When Willow cries in Once More With Feeling lol Pretty much anytime Willow cries I cry. The entire ending of Tabula Rasa. The end of Wrecked when Willow breaks down. The end of Hells Bells. Grave when Xander saves the day.

Seeing Red gets its own line because it is one of two episode of any show to make me cry soooooo hard lol. Nothing else in the entire buffyverse upsets me as much as this one.

Season 7: The end of Same Time, Same Place poor willow. Conversations With Dead People again poor Willow. The end of Dirty Girls god poor Xander. Spikes speech in Touched but those are happy Tears. Chosen for many reasons lol one being poor Anya.

Angel

Season 1: Hero Poor Doyle. I love Doyle. The end of Five by Five and quite a few scenes in Sanctuary. And definitely To Shanshu In LA The scene between Cordy/Angel are so sweet.

Season 2: The end of The Trial when Darla gets turned and the look on Angels face is just heartbreaking. Epiphany When he rescues Kate, and his speech to Kate. Also when he catches Cordelia, it makes me tear up.

Season 3: That Vision Thing when Cordy is crying and asking why the powers would do this to her. The end of Lullaby Darla's speech is so moving. The end of Sleep Tight I find that episode too painful to watch its one of the few that come close to Seeing Red. Forgiving is also a tear jerker. Double or Nothing When Cordy returns and finds out bout Baby Connor and all her scenes with Angel in that episode. Tomorrow its just such a sad finale.

Season 4: Not much in season 4. Calvary When Lilah dies. Salvage the scenes with Wesley and Lilah. Home This is such a beautiful but heartbreaking finale.

Season 5: You're Welcome of course lol. I cry so much but happy tears mixed with sad. Its such a beautiful episode. And when Wesley dies in Not Fade Away

I've seen most of the episodes too often to get as emotional as I used to, but The Body still gets me every time. And then again in Chosen when Xander walks right past Anya's body. It's tragic!

I cry like a baby everytime I watch The Gift..it's the only episode of Buffy when I really, really cry and I will remember you. As for the others, I can't really remember ( is that possible?). Next time I'll do a re-watch I'll let you know LOL

I don't remember *crying* during any scenes... But I did tear up a couple times. Here are mine(keeping in mind i'm thinking of the first time I saw these):

BtVS

Season 1
- The scene where Buffy quits and she throws her cross on the ground.(Prophecy Girl)

Season 2
- When Buffy cries on her bed after looking at the claddagh ring.(Innocence)
- Giles finding Jenny dead on his bed.(Passion)
- Very emotional scene where Buffy hits Giles and tell him she can't do this alone.(Passion)
- Xillow scene when Willow is in a coma.(Becoming Part 2)
- The whole ending of the episode, right from when she stabs Angel... That was probably the only scene that got me close to crying.(Becoming Part 2)

Season 3
- Joyce opening the door to see Buffy at the end of the episode.(Anne)
- The whole confrontation on the hill top and the following miracle.(Amends)
- Buffy crying on Willow after Angel broke with her.(The Prom)
- Jonathan speech about Buffy, followed by her walking through the students to get her umbrella.(The Prom)

Season 4
- The scene where Oz is leaving and Willow(freaking amazing Alyson Hannigan) cries her eyes out... Now that was probably the most authentic crying i've ever seen on tv.(Wild At Heart)
- Hum... Not sure why this scene made me tear up, but when Faith gets out of the grave and yells under the rain, to finally get out of her coma.(This Year's Girl)

Season 5
- Another really emotional scene... When Buffy and the others stand up for Tara against her blood 'family'. Perfect.(Family)
- When Buffy tells Spike he's beneath her, echoing Cecily words.(Fool For Love)
- When Spike goes to kill Buffy but then sits with her instead.(Fool For Love)
- When Buffy runs to catch Riley in time.(Into The Woods)
- This one is gut wrenching... When Buffy finds her mom on the couch.(The Body)
- Buffy telling Dawn about Joyce.(The Body)
- Whole scene at Tillow's app, with Xander hitting the wall, and Willow saying 'come on hit me!' 🙁 (The Body)
- Ending scene where both sisters cries in each other arms.(Forever)
- Spuffy scene at the end when she kiss Spike and tell him she won't forget what he did.(Intervention)
- When Giles tells Buffy she's everything he could have hoped for.(Spiral)
- The scene where Willow finally bring Buffy back out to the real world and she starts crying.(The Weight Of The World)
- When Buffy jumps to her death. But for me it's mostly the reactions of everyone to her being dead that got me...(The Gift)

Season 6
- Scene where beaten up Spike tells Buffy 'You always hurt the ones you love'.(Dead Things)
- When Joyce tells Buffy that she has to believe in herself, that she has to be strong, and then Buff tell her 'goodbye mom' and goes back to the real world.(Normal Again)
- The whole Bander scene just before Warren comes in.(Seeing Red)
- Buffy getting shot and then Tara too.(Seeing Red)
- Xander speech to Willow. Finally good ol Xand saves the day!(Grave)

Season 7
- Spuffy scene where she opens up to him.(Touched)
- The original Scooby Gang reunited one last time, talking about shopping, eye patches and the like.(Chosen)
- Xander looking for Anya, while we see her dead on the ground.(Chosen)
- Spike sacrificing himself to save them all.(Chosen)

Angel

Season 1
- Doyle dying.(Hero)
- Faith yelling at Angel to kill her... The whole last scene under the rain.(Five By Five)

Season 2
NONE

Season 3
- Darla staking herself to save Connor.(Lullaby)

Season 4
NONE

Season 5
- Cangel scene at the end, mostly when Angel get a call and realize Cordy is gone for good.(You're Welcome)
- Fred suffering and then dying in the arms of Wesley... That was gut wrenching.(A Hole In The World)
- Angel asking all of them if they're up for a pretty much kamikaze mission, and they all lift their hands.(Powerplay)
- Even though it was stupid that they killed him... Wes death and the whole 'Do you want me to lie to you now?' 'Yes, please'.(Not Fade Away)


And now... I just realized how much more sad/emotional BtVS was 😛

I'm more of a happy crying person then a sad crying person. Although, to be honest I do enjoy a good cry. Because I'm more of a happy crying person there aren't to many scenes in Buffy or Angel that made me cry. The only ones are:

The Body, I cried at several points throughout The Body. Sad crying.

The Gift, when Buffy says her speech and the reactions of her friends, especially Spike. This is a kinda happy and sad cry and neither at the same time. It's just moving.

Chosen, Yes, I totally cried when I first found out that Buffy had chosen to share her strength. Something about it just cracked me. Totally bawled my eyes out. Happy cry.

Alright, I have to add. I just watched the episode Beneath You and at the end when Spike says "And she shall look on him with forgiveness, and everyone will forgive and love, and he will be loved." before lying on the cross had me teary eyed. Poor guy.

Usually the only thing that makes me cry is whenever a male character cries or is sad. Or if they had something really crappy happen to them. Examples include Spike getting money thrown at him, Spike in Beneath You, Giles finding Jenny in his apartment, Ewan McGreggor at the end of Moulin Rouge... wait, wrong show/movie. Anywhoozle.

It's weird, I have a harder time feeling sad about female characters even though I'm female myself.
