I really like ships and planes, well, unless I'm on them that is.
I had caused myself to have this fear of flying, which presented problems when flying from England to Australia. I managed to get an aisle seat on the plane but the horrible person who had the window seat waited until the plane was banking hard as we was leaving Heathrow airport, she exclaimed, "oo look at that," So what did I do? I looked didn't I! yep silly me. After leaving Singapore airport I did a silly thing, I looked out of the window. No of course I did not panic when watching the wings flap so much, even when I was told the wings were designed to flap up and down 70 feet.

Having a private compartment on a train is AMAZING. Totally worth the money but you can't smoke. 🤨

I'm terrified of flying....I have to be drunk as hell to get on a plane. Too bad you can't smoke on the plane anymore.

Militant nonsmokers really annoy me.

not smoking rules are for health issues, or issues smoke can cause with planes

I like to fly, or at least I like the novelty of it, though not the being crammed in a sardine can aspect.

I used to love taking cross-country road trips, but now my legs get too cramped to drive that far. But setting my own pace, seeing the sights, and eating fast food every day was the best.

Next time, you should take the window seat. Then you can close the blind and not have to see out! And bonus, you can annoy people like me, who love to look out the window.

I get super motion sick and I hate to travel. I was always told I'd grow out of it, that if I stopped worrying about getting sick, then I wouldnt get sick. Fast forward to my 30's and an MRI reveals that Im missing a bunch of veins in my brain - and that has been the cause of my motion sickness all along. I cant even scroll sideways on netflix without getting dizzy and nauseous. Now I can't fly anyway because of blood clots.

So the only way I like to travel is by car, and only when I am driving the car. I am better on trains than any other public transport but will still feel woozy at best. I know to take maxolon on boats, but still not enjoyable. Buses are the absolute worst for me. The trip to highschool was pure torture for me. I'd nearly pass out every single day by the time we got to the diesel drenched busport, and then I would get a headache from the fumes. Horrendous.

Given that they've declared bankruptcy and are shutting down, it looks like we're on the last round of damage (specifically those who have tickets for flights that had not yet occurred).
This is actually a bad thing considering that they provide the cheapest flights. It's uncomfortable and one of the worst things I've had to experience but it just makes it harder for people to fly on a budget

And fewer seats means the more expensive airlines can charge more. Therefore this affects everyone. Sighs.

I haven't been on a train in a long while, but I concur. I loved traveling on a sleeper. I actually find the clacking of train wheels rather soothing.

I'm actually afraid of heights (or more accurately, afraid of falling from them), so I thought I would be terrified of flying when I traveled to Los Angeles in the 11th grade. Turns out I was fine. It's easier for me to deal with when I'm entirely surrounded by walls, a floor, and a ceiling.

Whoa. I'm a non-smoker, but I'm not militant. I swear. No uniform. No firearm. 😛

I do have asthma, though, thanks to my biological mother smoking while she was pregnant, and secondhand smoke is more deadly than firsthand smoke, so I do appreciate when people don't blow it in my face. 🙂

Damn. I've never even heard of something like that. That's got to be rough, to say the least. My ex (also Australian) had a heart problem that caused her to pass out sometimes because she wasn't getting proper blood flow, and she couldn't fly as a result because it was unsafe for her, but you're dealing with a whole other level of something. I'm sorry to hear it.

I'm not afraid of heights; I'm afraid of the ground. It's the ground that hurts you... 😀

I'm not afraid of flying but I couldn't stand on the edge of anything tall. Or near the edge.

Sundance: I can't swim!
Butch Cassidy: Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill you!

You can fall as long as you want and be perfectly fine. It's when you finally stop that you start to have a problem.

That's how I feel too. I can't go up ladders or look over the edges of rooftops or climb stairs that I can see through without having major problems. But flying isn't a real issue for me. It's because I'm completely contained, I think, which makes me feel safe. As long as I haven't seen the pilot drinking and playing hopscotch before the flight starts. 😛

I love trains. I dying to do a long trip with my own compartment.

I love water - the sea in particular but never thought i would go on a cruise ship. I like quiet and i like people in *small* numbers, in small doses... Sighs.

My friend invited me to spend chanukah on a cruise - so that is what hubby and i are doing. Convincing him to go at all was a serious job of work, but finally he dove in... And now we have a suite! We will see if i like it. Hope he does. Hope he does not not get seasick. I have done a lot of ferry crossings and i have been fine even when it turned violently rough and became a vomitorium. We will see how it goes.

Wish me monsters. Maybe if i can slay a few vamps i will have fun! Failing that, i can always hide in one of the pools.

I'm a fish. I mean, uh, I'm a Pices. You know, the fish zodiac. And, stereotypically for us (according to astrology, which I don't believe in), I love the water, and I love swimming.

I always thought my zodiac was a good representation of my life. Ironically, I always feel like a fish out of water wherever I go. And all the other zodiacs can kill me. 😕

I sympathize. My maximum comfort level is a handful of people (maybe four people besides myself), and frankly, I'm pretty good with just three (and no, I don't mean 'me, myself, and I'), or even just one, really. And only if they're not strangers. I'm not big on strangers.

School dances and group get-togethers pretty much always ended up with me by myself in a corner or at the snack table. I was a very exciting child. 😛

Hide in the pool? How long can you hold your breath, Blue?

They sucked the one time i flew them. Never did it again.

Spirit was the Greyhound of the skies. After seeing numerous videos of their passengers acting crazy, I'm glad they're no longer around.

This may sound a bit snobbish, but I don't want to be stuck in an airplane with a bunch of poor people. Especially if they have a gang of kids with them. Been there, done that. Never again.
