What Moment/Scene "Hooked" You

Does anyone remember what moment or scene "hooked" you and guaranteed you to keep watching?

I started watching Season 1,3 and 6 all at the same time and it was Faith, Hope and Trick that really got me hooked. The scene at the end where Buffy is explaining to Giles and Willow what had happened with Acathla really moved me (despite the fact that I had no idea what had happened)and from then on I was a Buffy fan.

What a schizophrenic way to watch Buffy LOL!
I had a Buffy VHS boxed set that had highlight episodes of season 2.

I believe it was at the end of Becoming when she had to send Angel to hell. That was what guaranteed that I would keep watching. I had to know what happened to her after that. How a person would come back from that. That's way back when I was like . . . 15. Surprised I remembered.

Last September, iTunes made a number of series premieres free including Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I knew nothing about it, but I've always enjoyed shows about high school, so I watched the premiere (I usually watch during my mid-day treadmill workout on my iPod touch). It was really good, so I acquired more shows and kept watching.

In Becoming Part 2, when Giles was begging for the torture to end ("Please."), I remember thinking how painful it was going to be to see him break, because clearly he was about to break and, after all, he was just a sniveling, tweed-clad high school librarian.

When he said, "In a tutu. Pillock." That was the end for me - I was completely hooked, on the show and on the character and on the actor. I've never looked back.

This is the single best show ever made and I'm so grateful for the extreme fortuity that brought it to my attention.

I think it was over time. Not a specific scene hooked me up. But some sure helped... Like the Giles/Buffy convo at the end of Innocence, also the whole episode of Passion. That's really great tv!
 
Well the cliffhanger of Welcome to the Hellmouth made me say "this show is great," The Harvest made me say "this show is really something special" and The Witch is when I was like "I'm freaking in love with this show!" The witty dialogue, the plot twist, the social commentary and metaphors... I fell in love with all of it. And as a result The Witch will always be on the top of my season 1 episodes (right under Prophecy Girl).
 
When I started my first official re-watch after years of not seeing any of it, it would have to be the scene in Prophecy Girl: "I'm sixteen years old, I don't want to die".

Well this was before us Buffy fans knew if they were going to be released on DVD and I didn't have cable so I watched Season 1 on Saturdays, Season 3 on Sundays and Season 6 on Tuesdays on UPN. They rotated them like that for two years.
 
At the end of 'Angel' (the episode, not the series!), where Buffy and Angel kiss and she walks away, and then the camera goes to Angel and the cross-shaped burn. Damn. Looking back maybe that moment was a little dramatic, but it definitely hooked me when I first watched!
 
The very beginning of "Welcome to the hellmouth" ... Darla beng the bad guy and not the innocent schoolgirl she was dressed as. I loved it! 🙂
 
Probably "What's My Line Pt 1" at the ice rink when Buffy tells Angel she didn't even notice his vamp face after using her skate to slice open a guy's throat. (I watched it on it's original run, starting with "Reptile Boy," so this 2-parter definately hooked me in for life. I hadn't seen season 1 before that point.)
 
In the beginning of Doppelgangland, Anya tries to convince D'Hoffryn that she should get her powers back. I thought that one scene was great, so I continued watching the show, and that whole episode was hysterical.
 
I'd seen bits and pieces of season.1 and 2, but the episode that grabbed me was when angel fell from hell, I didn't jump on the show but I watched more regularly, then I saw that scene in earshot where buffy realises the shooter is in the bell tower and runs up the side of the steps flips onto the roof and breaks into the room, all while the music grabs you, and the know it all girls says she could have done that.

It was the perfect synergy of drama,music, emotionalness and humor. It grabbed me and I went back and watched from the beginning.

Buffy whispering "Close you eyes" to Angel...and then Full of Grace just fills up the rest of the scene . Perfection.

The only reason I remember the moment is because it hooked me real bad. It was the ending of season 2, Angel was killed, Buffy ran away, everything was so so intense and I even cried. I had trouble having my dinner afterwards because I was so depressed. I remember I was about to eat soup with rice. But I couldn't.

After watching the season finale, I went online and read about the cast members. This is where I could define myself as a fan of the show. I did watch from the beginning, but only after "Becoming" I got really hooked.
 
I had enjoyed most of the first season, but the episode that really made me a fan of the show was Prophecy Girl, the scene with Giles, "I'm sixteen years old, I don't want to die." I was completely hooked after that, and new that the show would truly be something great and not just another decent show.

I never really watched Season 1. I had seen "The Witch" and thought it was ok, and I think I saw bits and pieces of "The Puppet Show" and "Out of Sight, Out of Mind".
The episode that got me, though, was "Halloween". I loved the twist on costumes and the interactions between the characters...
 
I can't tell a moment or scene but it was probably Lie to Me
