I didn't see another thread like this (if I'm mistaken please point me towards it 🙂 )

I'm kind of looking for some new shows to watch, so what other shows do you watch besides Buffy/Angel, past or present?

Here are mine in case anyone should be interested and/or looking for new shows themselves. I've commented a little on some of them. Feel free to do the same. 🙂
(present)
Heroes
It's definitely gone down-hill since its incredible first season. It's still pretty intriguing though, imo.
Ugly Betty
Kind of a dumb show in many ways, but then they're not trying to be clever (I hope). Good entertainment, but not something I'll ever rewatch, I think.
Dexter
Started watching this recently. I never thought a show about a serial killer would ever interest me, but there you go.
Supernatural
Merlin
House
Brothers and Sisters
Eureka
Many of its plot points are rather obvious, but pretty fun show all the same.
Doctor Who (as well as spinoffs Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures)
What is there to say? My 2nd or 3rd favourite show.
Eli Stone
Nice new show about a prophetic lawyer.
Ashes To Ashes
Bones (and various other crime shows)

(past)
Everwood
My 2nd or 3rd favourite show (depends on the day whether I rate Doctor Who or Everwood higher). Even though I'm very much into sci-fi now, I still love this straight drama show. It was just so clever and interesting, and so very well-written. Such a shame it had to go after only 4 seasons.
Life On Mars
What a gem. Perfect mixture of cop show and drama. John Simm and Philip Glenister are just great together (btw, anyone seen the US remake? I saw the pilot and 10 mins of the second episode before I ditched it. Seems just awful)
Mysterious Ways
Stars Adrian Pasdar (probably more known for playing Nathan in Heroes) This show only had 2 seasons and while that's a shame, they probably couldn't have come up with new stories much longer. I LOVE the first half of its first season but then it started slipping.

Anyway, I think this is about as long as I should go on without even knowing if anyone's interested.

I agree, Heroes definetly went downhill after the first season.

we have pretty similiar taste :) karma for Brothers and Sisters especially!
There was a topic about this, and I'm sure TK will link you, but it was ages ago, and I'm also sure people will be watching different stuff now.

Shows I'm watching just now include:

Dexter: Yeah, I'm still on Season 2. But it's brilliant.

Desperate Housewives: It's still funny, and so ridiculous that it doesn't even try to take itself seriously any more.

Fringe: Like Eureka, but in CSI land. John Noble is the funniest thing since the last really funny crazy old man. How can you not love Mr Papaya? He's the friendliest of fruits.

Spooks: After a majorly dissapointing Series 6, they've really picked up the pace. Ok, so there's still no Ruth, but it's back to the old terrorist of the week formula, and Hermione Norris is fantastic. Even though she shouldn't be in this series. People stay dead more often on Buffy....

Futurama: I have to say, the new eps are MUCH better than the new Simpsons episodes. Although, a FOUR PART episode about freaky time travel does leave me confused.

Bones: Yes. STILL at the end of Season 1. I appologise.

Some of the shows I now watch:

Bones, Smallville, Supernatural, NCIS, Heroes, How I met your mother, The big bang theory, 2 1/2 men, TSSC, House, 90210 (yes, still don´t know how that happens), Private practice, Ghost whisperer, My name is Earl, American dad and Family guy. I´ve just watched through the episodes of Fringe and I´ll continue watching that. I´m saving up on episodes of Dexter and True blood and will be watching that as soon as I find the time. 24 and Dollhouse starts soon. Enough for you? 😉

Ok, I actually think I included everything. But with me you never know. Lily corrected me last time...

I know that seems like a lot and it is. But if we take away the time I spend on the bike while watching it´s "just" 40 minutes a day. It´s not THAT bad is it?

Bones: Yes. STILL at the end of Season 1. I appologise.
That only means you have a lot of great episodes to watch. I know that not everyone is loving the new season but I just can´t get enough.

Scrubs: Sofar I've seen the first four seasons, but somehow got stuck, probably due to watching something else.

House MD: The first four seasons and I must say, that the story is just a masterpiece and it is generally just a piece of art. Hugh Laurie is amazing. The opening episodes of the fifth season give the story an interesting spin, I'm curious to see the rest.

Heroes: Well the first season was magnificent, however the second season definetly was weaker and third season is lacking something, which the first one had, but I can't put my finger onto it.

Dr Who: I just love the doctor. The stories are great and I think it's one of the greatest things made for the telly. Nevertheless I think RTD is not as good a writer, as Joss Wheedon, he would make a better job of it, I think. Hope that we'll get a new good Doctor.

Torchwood: Slightly weaker than the Doctor, but also an interesting story. Anyway, it's good.

The Dead Zone: It's quite a good show, not perfect, but the story is interesting and in a way also good. There are sometimes moments of perfectness, but at other times week spots. I dislike it, that he keeps having to proof himself to everybody. But, yeah, looking forward to the end.

The Sopranos: Just perfect. I like it and I heard, they were thinking of making a film of it? In a way, I think it's a quite interesting idea and i'm looking forward to it, if they ever get that far.

How I met your mother: I only got to see the first few episodes, but whenever I get the time to look at it, I will definetly do so. In my view, it's a nice piece of soft entertainment with interesting ideas and observations about life an dhuman behaviour. It's in a way a pitty, that the day only has 24 hours and that one has to sleep for some of the day ^^

QI: Well it's not really a show in the sense of, but yeah, it's good and fun and informative. One of my housemates said, that one of the guys here on the board stated, that with watching QI you can be lazy, without feeling layz, so yeah, good for me, as I like watching it.

Topgear: I only started watching it recently, but I thought the wittiness of it, adorable ^^ Well at least the specials looked quite fun. Making fun of Germany and America is always a good thing 😉

Six Feet Under: I like it, but I don't think it's perfect. At least I find the behaviour of the characters at times annoying, but it seems to be something that happens everynow and then on an American show, as i notice similar behaving patterns throughout different shows. This makes it a bit annoying to watch, but I got over it, so I should soon start on the third season.

Trublood: Only watched half of the pilot so far, but it looks interesting and whenever I get to it, I will try to watch more of it. A friend told me, that the books are good.

Californcation: Now this is just great. The episodes are short, so you can just watch it, like whenever you feel like it. That's good and the plot is good. I like it and California seems to be a great city and i'm looking forward to my stay there next year, if I can make it 😉

Oh God, that's a lot I'm watching, but I think that's all there is.

Right now, the only show I'm watching is Dexter. I bought season 2 a while ago from Amazon, I didn't see it on tv. I can't get a signal in my bedroom so no tv for me.🙁 But I'm currently watching the season 3 episodes and I love it. Dexter is the bestest.

addicted to house and desperate housewives, another good show i watch would be rescue me, two and a half men can be funny sometimes and thats it, tv has gone downhill lately to much reality tv

Dexter is definitely one of the best shows on TV right now.

I'd also recommend watching Rome, Deadwood, Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural and of course Firefly if someone hasn't already seen it! I love Top Gear even though I'm not into cars but I know it might not be for everyone. 😛

Oh and when (if) HBO makes the series about A Song of Ice and Fire, it will probably be the best thing ever! Everyone should read the books too! I'd give you a link but the boards are being lame and won't let me post links yet.

Not too many for me,but the ones I do watch are good ones(to me,at least):

*House: What else needs to be said?

*Chuck: Puts a good twist on the whole spy genre, and is always good for a few laughs. But...could you PLEASE show the Buy More dorks the door? The show's not about them.

Plus,I've got so many DVD box sets to burn through(BSG s1,How I Met... season 3,Penn & Teller: Bull****! seasons 1 & 5 among them...and I'm getting at least another 1 or 2 for the holidays, maybe more).

Desperate Housewives : excellent acting (except for Longoria...), good storylines, lovely characters, I'm in love with this show. Loving season five, besides.

Grey's Anatomy : seriously addicted... The characters are so attaching, I can't get enough. Plus, makes me motivated for med school (oh come on I know it's not like this in real life and I won't hook up with hot doctors but let me dream okay ? =D)

Friends : Friends rules. Period. Seriously, I know the episodes by heard and always laugh.

Skins : because of Cassie. A great show. Really great. Amazing, I might add. Yes, I might. At last a realistic show about teenagers. Plus : Cassie.

Pushing Daisies : A-MA-ZING ! (or however actual english-speakers cut syllables) I love it, it's a beautiful show, it always makes me happy. If you like it, please help saving it by signing the petition.

How I Met Your Mother : Legen... wait for it... DARY ! A great show obviously though they tried too hard in the beginning to do like Friends. Some episodes are not that great (and I haaate Barney) but I love the show anyway, really great ideas.

Alias : A great show, and a stupid, ridiculous ending. What a shame...

Veronica Mars : Gotta love Veronica ! "... A PONY ?!" Too bad it ended. First Season was immense, the last ones were going a bit downhill but still good.

House : Just finished the second season. Like it, don't love it : pretty boring from time to time. I hear it gets better... Love House and Cuddy though.

Dead Like Me : A great show, really fun to watch. Can't wait for the movie in February !

Dirt : Love it, love it, love it, Courteney Cox is just unbelievable. Too bad it was cancelled...

Heroes : First season was great. It's so lame now, I'm bored when watching it. I'll probaby give up next episode. But I've never given up on shows before. I'm scared.

Private Practice : First season sucked. I kinda like Season Two now, it's sweet and the atmosphere is pretty cool. Plus Kate Walsh is outstanding.

Conclusion : I watch too many TV shows.

Need I say...House karma!
Well, current running tv shows:

The Office - Ah. Love it. (US version, yes) Jim and Pam, ftw. DH keeps telling me they won't last, but I'm firmly in denial. They will always be together. *nodnod*

30 Rock - Never watched it before, but DH did. Still trying to figure out what on earth is going on. 😛

Heroes - Watched like one episode of the first season a long time ago with DH. Just started this season. It's growing on me. All I care about though, is the fact that I think Zachary Quinto will make an awesome Spock. 😉 (Can you tell where my priorities are?)

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Only seen like 2 or 3 episodes of this season. I think that Sarah Connor and Summer Glau are the only good actors in it. And I still call Summer's character River even though I know her name's Cameron. And Sarah Connor's son annoys me. But I watch it, just for River. 😉 And because it's on before Heroes.

Over and done tv shows I watch:

Babylon 5 - I <3 this show. Okay, well, I just finished the last season, so I guess I'm done. But I still <3 the show. Minus the first season.

LOST - Just started S2. DH is trying to get me caught up before the new season comes out. Love it so far. Jack alternates between annoying me and being cool. Right now he's annoying. And btw, for the record, I *really, really* hate Michael. He's SO annoying.

Star Trek - Any except for the abomination that is Enterprise. I refuse to speak anymore on that horrid thing.

That's all I can think of right now though I know I"m forgetting stuff. 😛 It does not include my Whedonverse stuff, of course. (Buffy, Angel, Firefly)
