What replaced Buffy and Angel for you?

Veronica Mars, Battlestar Galactica and Alias all do it for me since Buffy and Angel are over. All great shows.
 
I'd say Veronica Mars. I haven't been this excited about a TV programme since Buffy and Angel... so it must be the replacement. 🙂🙂🙂
 
Hmm nothing as really replaced them for me, but Dead like me and Cold case have scootched in alongside them in my obsession list.

It could never be replaced but if it had been then it would have been by the o.c, point pleasant (although cancelled), tru calling (also cancelled) and desperate housewives
 
No show can make me feel like they did and do (to be honest not even Angel could make me feel as BtVS did). But I'm rediscovering South Park which is a superb show, never thought about what traditional values they actaully have. Lot of unorthodox things, but when push comes to show really traditional. Still it makes me laugh.
 
Ohh and doctor who is also one of them aswell!!! i love that program so much!!!!
 
I still watch Buffy/Angel, they play rerurns on tv, and i have dvd/vhs of them

but i guess my other obsessions are Desperate Housewives and Six Feet Under
 
I wouldn't say anything replaced it, because I watch the box sets now. Almost all except season 5 of Angel. Through I have started buying the books, magazines, and have bought 1 comic so far.

Not to mention reading all the different fan fiction.
 
Very much loved Joan of Arcadia, but I just can't seem to catch it anymore. Goddamn scheduling. Lost starts here this week though, and I get the impression I'll like that a lot.

Ooo I've heard about Lost what channel and when does it start? Does anyone know if Veronicas Mars is going to come out in the UK cos i really want ot see this programme it's sounds great?

I shoulda been clearer. It's on one of the Irish channels, RTE Two. It's the two hour pilot, 9pm to 11pm on Monday the 23rd. This is good, because you know, I'll get to see it, but this is also bad, because RTE are even worse than BBC when it comes to random schedule changes. Take Joan of Arcadia for instance. RTE One is sort of the religious station, so they bought it, and broadcast it roughly after mass on a Sunday. Which sort of makes sense, I suppose, except that they liked to play around with the air time by a few hours every week, or not bother broadcasting it at all.

In fairness though, when they broadcast 24, it was more or less uncut. We got full on pregnant-woman murdering Nina and all the exploding lesbians we could wish for. Hurrah!
 
That's a shame cos it means that we might not be getting it here then. :bluesad: I really do want to see it though as i've heard good reviews about it. I hate the UK we always get everything last.
 
Okay, only a few episodes in, and yes indeed, Lost has become my Buffotine patch. It's out-frickin-standing. I take back what I said about RTE's liberal censors though: it felt like there was a substantial amount of the more horrific aspects of the Pilot missing.

In a cruel twist, Reality TV is once again poking the fans of actual drama in the eyes - I checked, and E4/C4 has bought Lost. They just won't broadcast it until Big Brother is over. To be fair, they also said that they'd been keeping it up their sleeves to take over from Desperate Housewives. Either way, it'll be August at the very earliest, my unfortunate British friends. The DVD boxset is out in September though, and based on what I've seen so far, and if C4 plans on mangling Lost like it did Angel, it'll be well worth having.

Having pimped Lost so very much, I have to say the last episode left me profoundly pissed off, with a scene that amounted to this:

Character: "Fugitive, I know you've probably done something hideous before you got on the island."

Fugitive: "Yes. No doubt. I'm shady and fascinating."

Character: "Indeed. Anyhow, you know the way all previous episodes have been hinting at what you've done?"

Fugitive: "Yes?"

Character: "That really fascinating thing that would turn the audience's perception of you upside down?"

Fugitive: "Yes, that thing?"

Character: "The thing that was so bad it was worth thousands of dollars and sending a government representative through the Australian outback for weeks to find you for?"

Fugitive: "Yes?"

Character: "Don't tell me. Even though you could be a murderer, or a professional plane crasher, or a cannibal, or the lost member of the A Team, or something else really relevant to our current situation. I don't want to know."

Fugitive: "What? That doesn't make any damn sense!"

Character: "I know, but this way we can have a blindingly signposted romance subplot that gets shattered when that thing, the thing we keep skirting around, is revealed. And Christ knows we can't tell the audience what it was this early in the series."

Fugitive: "I see..."

Jill: "Bastard!!!! Bastardy bastard bastard! JJ Abrams, you cheap bastard!"

For awhile there it was Boy Meets World... Thank god that's over. But now I can't stand to miss an episode of either The O.C. or That 70s Show (ashton kutcher, mostly)
But may I just say I'm happily a Buffy fan again! 2 weeks or so ago I was going through this box of my old tapes (Buffy and Angel, mostly) that I never watch and came across Valentine... Watched it... Then after it was a few episodes of BTVS and ATS that I taped... And I started thinking "I miss this show....."
 
Buffy, Angel, and also Farscape, which got canceled pretty close to it, have yet to be replaced for me. At first, I tried to get into Andromeda again (a former love which had died down), but the little things I had started to dislike about that show just got WAY WORSE, so I cursed the writing every single time I watched that show. Then, came Lost and Desperate Housewives. Now, they haven't replaced those three shows, as I don't truly believe anything will, but they've done a damn good job of keeping me jazzed when I watch T.V. Perhaps, eventually...

Yeah, it has taken three shows to fill the hole that the end of BtVS has left 😉

The OC (for the soap-oprera-y bits)
Desperate Housewives (for the intrigue and the dialogue)
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (just becasue...I love it)

But ABC has started re-airing LOST from the beginning, so I've started watching that now too...Yep, I'm hooked. How much more could I love Evangeline Lilly (Kate)? She's so cool.

i think extream makeover: home editon is a fine show.. love that they do so much good for people.. we have a norwegian vertion now.. so wonderful :)
I think nothing, for me, can replace Buffy and Angel, but as far as watching other shows goes, I watch the O.C. and Nip/Tuck these days.
