I have been reading some old posts and people say they can relate to this or that about a character, but I was wondering, in the seven seasons, what scene do you relate to the most.

For me it would be Riley's Into The Woods monologue about his relationship with Buffy. As I was in a similar circumstance once and I failed to say everything I needed and wanted to say, everything I thought about saying Riley actually said. That always touched home for me as I feel like I failed in not saying those things. In that scene, it always seemed the most like 'me' of anything in the series.

What scene is 'you'? What scene do you best relate to?

"E-flat Diminished Ninth" ~ Oz
Oz didn't really seem to care much for academics and instead he saw his future in music.

It may not seem like much, but at the time when i watched this, I was letting my studies fall to play music which for me i guess isn't such a great choice compared to Oz. I realised this soon and now I've put my studies back ahead of my music.

Not my favourite choice but i think it's necessary.

I related so very well to so many scenes... I'm not sure that picking just one will suffice, but here goes.

During Season 6, when Buffy was diddling Spike & hiding it from her friends.... yup, been there, done that (with a guy I wouldn't have wanted anyone to know I was with). And that's not really a "scene" but rather an "arc". See what I mean? Don't think I could ever pick just one scene. 😀

Dark Willow & Xander - the yellow crayon speech, with unconditional love saving the world. The entire magic junkie arch hits home for me, anyway.

Fred's writing on the walls of her room to try and keep her world/mind together after leaving Pylea.

It's like a visual depiction of what I feel in my head every day. It just makes sense. And the desire for the handsome man to save me. I want it to all go away and get better and be alright, but, like Fred, I'm not quite sure how.

gracias.. that was fast. good girl does as commanded.
When buffy just sits down at the end of Spiral. Somtimes I feel like doing that and never getting up again.

Man, what makes the show so great is how incredibly real and relatable the situations and characters are. Even if you're dealing with some sort of make-believe demon, there's still an emotional reality to everything in the show. Specifically, off the top of my head, I always could relate to the earlier scenes with Dawn and Buffy. I always thought when I was younger, that my sister was the coolest and I as constantly trying to prove to her and everyone else what I was cool, too - just in a different way than she was.

Also, lately, I can really relate to Bangel, believe it or not (bet you never thought you'd hear me say that lol). The desire they have to make it work knowing they're not right for each other is definitely something I've dealt with in the past.

Also, the conversation that Xander and Buffy have in Chosen (?) where he tells her she's his hero, and she tells him he's her strength. I love that conversation. Reminds me of the friendship I have with my close friend, Johnny.

Buffy going from constantly berating her 'sister' Dawn, to Buffy sacrificing herself for Dawn to live.

Once again halfrway through my post I lose my words to the monster munch and I dunno what I was talking about.

I think I identify most with Faiths balls to the wall, couldn't care less, take on the world attitude.

And the one scene in partuclar, with Angel, (on Angel) where Faith, completely spent, drained mentally, basically begs Angel to kill her.

monster munch is amazin, mon the roast beef!
Willow's inability to find the suitable sweater to wear in The body. Same thing happened to me when my grandma died. 🙁

I think.. Buffy, from When she was bad..

The frustration in the end, when she's was letting her feelings run free while smashing the bones of The Master. I know all about the bottled up feelings she had. I've been there...Not in the someone-nom'd-my-neck-and-I-died way though...

Ask me the same question some other day, and you'll get a different answer. I'm not good with definites.

GILES:
Your path's unbeaten and it's all uphill
And you can meet it, but you never will
And I'm the reason that you're standing still
But I...
I wish I could say the right words
To lead you through this land.
Wish I could play the father
And take you by the hand
Wish I could stay here
But now I understand
I'm standing in the way.

When I broke up with my boyfriend of four and a half years, whom I respected, cared for and wanted to have a chance to live the life he wanted but that I did not, he looked so broken. I was completely, entirely sure that our romantic relationship was beyond resurrection, but when I looked at him I just wanted to make him feel better.

Looking back now, nearly a decade later, it's very clear that I did the right thing. After several months where he was so far down that I was almost afraid, he went out and found that life he wanted, and still lives it. It does not involve me or any of the interests I hold dear.

awww... "Standing" is the OMWF song that gets to me the most, too!

I love the episode five by five for that reason. It was so sad, but relieving to finally see her true feelings come out. I knew it was coming because, although I'm not exactly sure how, I felt like my life related to hers, except of course for the killing people part. It's just I've been in situations where I am so incredibly confused, and so angry, I feel like there is no other way around it but to lay down and die. Harsh, but I sometimes used to feel that way.

When Spike does the monolgue of "I don't say I love you because I can't have you"

It related to me with a close friend whom which we had feelings for but had to end it but then we became extremely close friends.

Season 2, where Buffy gets kicked out of home. It was done with a raw emotion that reminds me of me getting kicked out of home when I was 18. (I wasn't a slayer though 😉)
Every time I watch that scenes it reminds me of my younger self, trying to run away from problems instead of facing them. I thought her return to her life in Season 3 was well done as well, and can relate to it.
