What season did you start watching Buffy/Angel. I started watching the first episode in 1997 and never stopped, starting at episode 1 with Angel too. What about everybody else? Did you watch it from the beginning or did you start later in the series'. What got you hooked? How did you start? I'm curious people! Help me! LOL 😀

I started a little later and watched the repeats on FX 🙂

As soon as the seasons started coming out, I bought them up and now thankfully own both entire series 😀

i started with the very first ep of buffy. people i went to high school with her making fun of the TV show that was in the paper, called 'buffy the vampire slayer'
everyone was saying how corny and stupid it sounded, but i thought it was a cool name.
i waited for the night it was showing, which was a thursday i think, and i sat down to watch it...and i got hooked! from the first ten minutes, i knew this was a great show, and one that i HAD to watch.
i watched angel from the first ep too, becausei figured, if buffy was this good then angel had to be good too!! and thankfuly i was right.
when firefly came out, i couldn't wait to see it, becasue i knew by then how talented joss was. but it got cancelled and never aired in the uk.
so i cheated and bought the whole boxset before i even watched an ep!!
i am now proud to say that i own every memeber of buffy, angel and firefly, and every single soundtrack ever made, and a LOT of other stuff!!

I watched the pilot episode all the way back in 1997 because i had seen the movie and even though it's hard to belive, I actually liked it. I didn't watch anymore episodes until season 3's Homecoming. I really liked that episode and the next one I saw was The Wish. It's weird that those are two Cordycentric episodes considering she's my favorite character. Then I saw the episode The Prom and from then on I had never missed an ep. I never saw season 1,2,and the rest of 3 until I bought the DVDs. Angel I started watching ever since the first ep and never stopped until the end.

I started the very first episode as well. I remember flipping throught the channels and seeing Darla and a boy breaking into the school. I watched and was so shocked when Darla vamped out. I was hooked ever since.

I watched from the very first episode of Angel and with Buffy I joined in on the phenomenon from midway of season 1. I then watched repeats of season 1 of Buffy (as I missed the first half) and then never missed an episode of both shows! 🙂
What drew me in for buffy was the fact that an ordinary teenage girl was "The Chosen One" and I was curious about what this Buffy character was all about! If it was anything like the movie, i swore to never watch it again! Luckily it was no where near like the movie! 😀

First I just watched it very random, but didn't realize how great it really was. Then I think they changed channel to one that I didn't have. Until I moved in to my own apartment, so then I started watching it again and I think they where showing season 2 then so that's when I really started watching it and begin to understand how wonderful the show is.

I only started watching it about 4 or 5 years ago. My brother watched it all the time, and wouldn't let me have the remote, and I got really into it! Now I own almost all the seasons of both Buffy and Angel on DVD!

I started watching midway through series 2, a few episode before angel turned bu have no idea what the first ep i watched is and watched angel from sereies 1, the irst episode and it was the whole buffy vs angel thing and cordy that got me hooked, initially at least

When I got Hooked

I was only like 7 when it came out so naturally my parents wouldn't let me watch it. It used to be on late at night and I used to watch it then. I didn't really understand it then though.
I only really really got back into it like two years ago through hiring out the DVDs from the Vid Rental place, then I got sick of having to pay over and over again so I went out and bought the entire show of Buffy.
I never watched Angel on TV but bought series one through five as soon as I had finished watching Buffy season three.
I go back and watch my favourite episodes or my friends and I might have a Buffy or Angel marathon one weekend which is way fun!

I started watching Angel in the 5th season, so I went out, bought the first season and watched it. Then I got the second season. I bought all of them. Halfway through the third season of Angel, I went out to the Library and got the second season of Buffy because they didn't have the first season. After I finished the second season, I borrowed the first season from my friend. Then I got the rest from the Library. I loved them. I still haven't watched the movie. Should I?

Well, okay, I saw a few episodes back in 2000 (when they started airing Buffy in Sweden)... But I didn't start liking BtVS until the beginning of 2004, heh... Yep, I'm a new fan. Can't believe how stupid I was to dislike BtVS.. I didn't really start watching Angel until the beginning of 2005 (!), didn't have the money to get the DVDs until then...

I had watched a couple minutes of "Witch" (season one) while channel surfing. It didn't really stick.

Then, during surfing again, I caught a trailer for "Suprise/Innocence" and that trailer really hooked me. I started watching that episode and watched until season four. Then our TV company stopped carrying WB, and it was hard to have other people tape it.

After that, I caught the tail end of "The Gift" remembered how much I loved the show, and then I started watching season six on UPN (I got it in my dorm room at college... that was the only station pretty much that they had). Then I bought the DVD's and got all caught up.

What a tragic story, huh?

I did not start watching Angel until season four when Faith turned up on the show. But since then, I have seen all the Angel episodes.

Season 2 of Angel. I can't remember the exact episode I caught first, but I remember really getting into it with the Pylea arc (a nice few eps for someone with no back-knowledge).

It was running parallel with Buffy season 5 so I started watching that too.

I still haven't watched the movie. Should I?

Hard to say, it's not like the show at all. But it does link slightly so it's worth watching, and it's not bad if you don't try and compare it to the show.

My sister told me that the best Buffy episode was going to be on and I watched it. It was a repeat of Hush and I found it a bit too scary for my taste. I tried again when season five's Real Me aired and I loved it. As for Angel, I was watching the last couple of season three episodes in re-runs. When season four came on, I started watching.

Let's see, the first episode I ever watched was the Pack. My mom loved Buffy during Season 1, but I was...let's see...11? 12? And I didn't really get hooked: It didn't help that I lived with my dad at the time and he didn't have cable. So I really started watching religiously with Season 4: the second episode I saw was Enemies (Season 3) and I LOVED it. I didn't get it, but I loved the dynamics and the dialogue, I was hooked. (Still one of my favorite episodes) That was when NBC was showing WB shows in the afternoons after Passions. SO I used to do some of my homework from 2-3, watch Buffy from 3-4 then finish my homework! Then they moved Buffy to Saturday nights after SNL and I STILL watched religiously. Season Five will always be a late-night season for me. After the switch to upn it was easier for me to watch.

As for Angel I started watching with Season 1, but I sort of stopped after the first few eps of Season 2, just because it was on after Buffy on Sunday mornings and it was like 3 am.

I started to be a fan, when I saw Angel's season 5 (yes, I'm new fan.), after that I started to watch Buffy season 6.

I've told this story before, so if you've heard it, plug your ears!

I was watching a show called First Wave on Space, our science fiction channel. It was on at 8pm every Wednesday, and I'd watch it while the kids were running out the last of their energy playing before bed. I'd be hearding them off to bed while the next show on Space came on. It had this haunting theme that really caught my ear, so after a couple of weeks, I decided that I would watch the show to see what it was about. Buffy the Vampire Slayer had been running just under my radar for a couple of years at that point. I'd never watched a whole show, just parts (the brunette caught my eye...Charisma Carpenter as Cordy), so I could at least identify most characters by sight, but knew little about any of them, or what was going on. Anyway, the show I started to watch was about some vampire in Los Angeles...yup, Angel, season 2. It was entertaining, but there was so much backstory I didn't know... and it bugged me. The next fall, after watching Angel off and on, with no frame of reference, the Space station started to play BtVS reruns daily, since BtVS had reached the magic number of 100 episodes. I was hooked after the first ep...so, I started to tape what I couldn't watch due to other stuff, and taped the new eps (S6, Buffy) as well. I literally watched 6 seasons of Buffy in a couple of months, with Season 3 of Angel tossed in for good measure (there are still some early Angel eps I haven't seen yet). I've seen a lot of TV (said the aged dwarf), some of it great, a lot of it crap, and I have to say that BtVS and Angel are probably two of the best shows ever aired. Just when I thought they couldn't top the latest show, they put one on the next week that was better...I really hope Joss and co. come up with another formula like it...say, another slayer...in another town...or a movie...something...until then, I'll be watching reruns on TV (they're better than pretty much anything on now) or one of the newfangled DVDs I've picked up!

I started at the beginning of season 6 cos my mom figured I was old enough to watch it (I'll have been 11). Of course that was the season of the Buffy/Spike thing so I missed quite a bit of it 😛 I then started watching Angel half way through season 3 and I was hooked on both. Re-runs came on Sky of Buffy so I was able to catch up on most eps, and then I got the DVD's for christmas so I've now seen all the eps. Sky started showing Angel re-runs aswell but I either missed them due to school or they were missed out cos they were innapropriate (sp), but I've ordered the big box set for xmas and I can't wait to see the first 2 seasons. Yay!

Season 1, sort of. I followed the plot through episode summaries in Xpose magazine. I got hooked by the very cool press photos of the cast, and the reviewers' enthusiasm for this highschool show with the wierd name. I think the first eoisode I actually got to see was probably... Never Kill a Boy on the First Date... I think.
