Now I dont mean this to be as morbid as it sounds.
What I want to know is what song do you think best represents you, and you would like people to remember you by? And why do you choose that song?

I personally would choose 'In My Life' by the Beatles. Its a very pretty song that in my opinion is about always having affection for people and places, and remembering them fondly even though they may have changed, sometimes for the worse.

Now I know some people will interpret that song differently, but thats what it means to me.
(side note: I have a tattoo that says 'In My Life' for the same reasons 🙂 )

so now lets hear yours.

Beatles tattoo karma! I'm thinking of one myself too, but not too sure still how/what/where/why (sw)
I would choose Pristina by Faith No More, it is a pretty depressing song, just in the way it plods along, and the structure as well as the vocals (which are awesome). Just has a really great/dark feel to the song.

The first one that comes to mind is Life Is Beautiful by Sixx AM....have to think about this one...

Harley
I thought the same thing...
Oh, wow. That's a great question. One I've thought about alot actually..

I'd have to say, Porcelain, by Moby. Is that a complete cliché?

It's the lyrics that do it for me..

"In my dreams I'm dying all the time
Then I wake, it's kaleidoscopic mind
I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to lie
So, this is goodbye
This is goodbye.."

thats a nice song. and who cares even if it is cliché? haha its your funeral you can do what you want!
Blame It by Jamie Foxx.

haha. just kidding.

I don't know..
That would be a tough one. I wouldn't want a depressing one though.

Hopefully, not for a long time to come yet, but if it has to be just one song, then there's really only one choice:

thats a good choice. Classy
It's been chosen for about 20 years.... everyone I know is aware of it. Even the first time I meet them I'll be clear, to rectify any potential possibility of those loved ones I leave behind not following my wishes.

'Hi, how are you, you seem like a person I'll know forever, cool, freaky, phenomenally intelligent and a bit off the wall. Listen, if I should die, can you just remember at my funeral I want this? Just in case anyone should forget. No, I'll need a bag. Enter my pin now? Ok, wow, I got 10% off for a competitor event? Fantastic! Yeah, do you need my next of kin's number? Oh, ok, well next time then maybe...'

Although may be following it up with AC/DC's Highway to Hell as they close the curtains and send me to the flames.....

They played "Do You Realize?" by The Flaming Lips at my friend's funeral, which I thought was a fine choice, but I wouldn't want to use the exact same song at mine.

I would like everyone to smile, so for me it would be
Bob Marley - Three Little Birds.

Some of my brother's friends performed Pearl Jam - Black at his funeral, and theres a lyric from that song on his headstore. He really liked Pearl Jam, and his friends did an amazing job. It was really touching. When its personalized its just that much more special.

I am not 100% sure but if I were to die I would like to have Ocean Spray by the Manic Street Preachers.
It is a truely depressing song but I don't think anyone would expect anything less from me.
It's easy to see, it's easy to see,
To see only white where colour should be...
...It's easy to breathe, it's easy to grieve,
To breathe only air where life should be.

Ive noticed that you LOVE the Manic Street Preachers
I think I would go with Sing by the Dresden Dolls. Musically it sounds pretty melancholic in parts, but lyrically its very positive and united. and absolutely nothing to do about death.

B
Big Damn Hero
I love the Dresden Dolls :)
I know of a few songs that could represent me better, but since they're too fast and loud, or otherwise unfitting for a funeral, I would choose Behind Blue Eyes by The Who(or Limp Bizquit, or what they're called).

I'm not a bad man with blue eyes, but that song is so beautiful and the lyrics are poignant.

I think it would comfort my family.

The Sanctuary - Darling Violetta, we all know it (sw). To sound mysterious.
Ghost Love Score - Nightwish. To sound epic.
And than some other songs of my favourites yet without a real reason... Just to show "me" (= music).

A place called home- Kim Richey

Someday I'll go where there ain't no rain or snow
‘Til then, I travel alone
And I make my bed with the stars above my head
And dream of a place called home

I dunno I don't really care, i'll be dead. Just a body. Do what you want with me! pplay whatever you want, I wont hear it. lol
