What Song Would You Choose To Play At Your Funeral??

I always figured a mix CD would play at my funeral. I'd start it out with some really depressing stuff, then kinda lighten it up near the end.

This is going to be so typical of me, but whatever:

That makes it sound like I think no one loves me, but what I'm more going for is the tone and sound of the song and just generally wondering how long people are going to mourn when I'm gone.

This song kinda makes a lot more sense if you consider the fact that if I have a daughter her middle name is going to be Lucretia.

Fascinating. So far, not a single "Amazing Grace" or "In The Sweet By And By" among us. My dear sainted mother would call us all barbarians.
 
Do we have to play something at our funeral? Like really, is that a rule at a funeral?

If we have to I'd want to have the Jaws theme played as they wheel out my remains!
 
well I meant for this to be about what songs represent who you are and has alot of meaning to you, not really your actual funeral.

If you dont want a song at your funeral, then dont have a song. Its your funeral haha
 
Ahhhh, okay phew - I thought that was like law at a funeral that they play a song. I think if it's about me and it's my funeral, the best tribute to be would be a reel of some of the best farewell lines in film history. I'm a big film geek so that would encapsulate.

But again, the Jaws thing...classic right?

As corny as it sounds maybe Time of Your Life by Green Day. But probably Modest Mouse's Missed the Boat. I actually used that as my own personal graduation song from high school, and I think it says who I am pretty well. Here is a sample of the lyrics.

MM is a good choice. as for the Green Day song, I usually steer clear of mainstream music, but there is something undeniably beautiful about that tune
lol we have actually talked about this at a funeral before. like what song we want and everything. i would want them to play my favorite radio station Electric 102.7
 
One of the few perks of being dead is that you don't have to worry about things like this. 🙂

Not sure what I would want, maybe AC/DC's Ride On.
It's one of my favorite songs by my favorite band, and it's a nice slow song that I think could work on a funeral.

Anyway, for my final funeral(I plan on faking my death at least once to see peoples reaction) I want the song "You're the best around" from the karate kid movie. I want to remain arrogant, even in death.

INXS suicide blonde, lil twisted but i hate funerals so even though i wont see mine i know i would want some humor in it.
