Personally I don't like it, but just because I don't like it doesn't mean it's not going to happen anyway. So what are you supposed to do for Valentines Day? Any good ideas for an anti-valentiner such as me or do you just have a lot of good ideas for those who want to celebrate Valentine's Day? Please do share.

Even if you have a date or not... it's just another day.

My boyfriend and I will normally just go out to dinner. This year, we celebrated our valentine's dinner yesterday, so you don't even have to go on that day.

It's not a very stressful day. Just a gimmick.

Yeah I've never cared about Valentines Day, at all. I've never been in a relationship or dated someone in February (um, that can't be true, but I guess we forgot about Valentines day?). There are a lot of stuff with red and pink heart on to buy in the beginning of this month, but other than that there's nothing special about it really, in my opinion.. I guess I'll go to school as usually, and watch BtVS? That'll be a great Valentines day for me..

My boyfriend is taking me out to dinner. He won't tell me where though, which kind of stinks because I don't know what to wear! He keeps teasing me and telling me it's McDonald's though 😀

I like valentines day, just cuz I get stuff from my friends. I also like it because I like to laugh at people who get all caught up in the holiday. I am not doing anything for valentines day. I am probably gonna be on the computer and watching tv all night.😀

For all you anti-valentiners out there: You should sit at home and watch some horrible movies and laugh at them with a few of your friends.(I tried that, and it works everytime.) Or you can watch some good movies with a few of your friends.

What do you think of Ginger Snaps that's a good anti-Valentines day film?

That would be quite fun though, what if he actually took you to MackyD's. It's one Valentine you wouldn't forget in a long while.

conform quick before they realise you think different to them, oh god you might not fit quick do as they do, don't think for yourself thats just foolish!

I watch Buffy, get a gallon of cookie dough ice cream, and invite my friends over. Valentine's Day is more of a normal day for me...except I get ice cream. 🙂 Or, you know, if none of my friends can come over, it's me and my little sister...(Boy that's sad. I need to get me a life 🙂 )

I gotta say, I sort of despise some of the anti-valentiners... some (like my kid-bro) are anti-valentine, just to be anti-something.

I get that it's a Hallmark-invented holiday, but so what? Let there be one day of the year where people HAVE to show the ones they care about that they love them. It's good for those that aren't very romantic or spontaneous to be "forced" to do something nice for a change.

I don't see why people complain about it so much. All of them are talking that commercial-gibberish... Hello? Christmas anyone? How much money do we Western people spend on food, presents, and decoration for that? And then you go complain about a few red roses?

Oh... I thought of another reason why Valentine's day is a gimmick.

Allycat... I do completely agree with you that yes it is nice for the person to HAVE to show their love on Valentines day.

But...

Honestly, If my significant other only showed his/her love on one day out of the year, I'd be pretty ticked. Your relationships should be special each and every day, not just on a commercial holidy.

I agree with Allycat that it doesn't matter that it's all commercial and stuff, that doesn't really bother me anymore (it used to though). But I still have never celebrated Valentines day and it seems kinda silly to me, actually.. But if people think it's fun and all, they're free to celebrate all they want, in my opinion, but to me it's pointless..

Re:

A decent bottle of wine, scented candles, satin sheets, and a Saran Wrap teddie....LOL.

or what about 'you take my breath away teddy'...with the plastic bag over his head...lol

how's this for being so valentine...and so anti-valentine at the same time...go in front of the person you truly love...not just lust...but go to that person...carve your heart out with a kitchen knife...blood spouting every where...and hand it to the person as your last act ever...now that's some devotion..and some therapy for your love interest...

nobody better do that now...i don't wannna get in trouble...if anything...go get lit in a bar...and have some fun with a perfect stranger...it may be fake...but you won't be alone on valentine's night...lol

LMAO! Anything I add will just get me in trouble...;)
Well... I have some plans for tonight that I'm sure Mike will love. I have to tell someone. I'm cooking him a romantic meal for 2. We don't have a table so I'm setting up our living room as an indoor picnic. There'll be a big blanket, candles, music and rosy smelling confetti! I can't wait.

Well, there was no sign of Valentines day today really. I saw some red stuff when I was shopping but that's about it. I have done and will do nothing today. But one cool/scary thing is that my friend was going to a birthday party or something, the birthday girl's name is Loveleeh (pronounced "Lovely" of course), heh.

Usually my dad sends my mother and I a card, but for the last 2 years he has sent us flowers. I got a lovely bunch of my fave oriental lillies with some roses and purple flowers.

As for tonight i'll be studying with the company of Mr Daniels 😀

Waiting for 6th call today from a very special guy and hugging stuffed cat I got from him and wearing bracelet I got from him...

Yeah this year I'm really in the spirit of VD
