Hi guys! I need a debate settled. What was more satisfying for Buffy? Her experience with Riley in Where the Wild Things Are, or her experience with Spike in Smashed/Wrecked?

I'd say with Riley, but ONLY because of the supernatural influence on their minds (the same kind that showed up to a lesser extent to where others were touching a wall in a certain place).

That is, I'm not sure it should count. I'm not even sure it was really them (though I think was partially, but they were more "along for the ride").

I would say Riley, since they were in love at the time. They may have been under supernatural influence, but I didn't think at the end that they were acting like it had been against their will.

I'll have to watch that ep again in the near future, at least the end, with Riley. It seems I recall some discomfort, but I can't tell if it was from the loss of control or how much they enjoyed it.

I'm remembering other things had similar effects, possessions (that affected their behavior and emotions, but not memories), and even that demon that I think Giles said he and some others (including Ethan) summoned for some orgy that made it so much better than it otherwise would've been. But the details are sketchy in my mind.

Riley. Because her relationship with Spike was deliberately written to be toxic and awful and she hated herself for it.

At the end of the episode, when Willow said to Riley and Buffy "It must have been horrible" their agreement that yes, it was horrible, was not remotely convincing.

Riley ....because sex on drugs is invariably better 😉 . I'll take vanilla sex with a mystical aphrodisiac over sober kinky sex any day . 🙂
