What was one relationship you wanted to see, but didn't happen?

this thread is very interesting i must tell it......I have never think of the result of the relation faith / buffy but that could be very very interesting.
I like also dawn / xander
faith / angel
Illyria / spike
 
The main one for me was Buffy and Xander. They were great as best friends, but I always thought that Xander was perfect for Buffy. Additionally, Xander always had more respect for Buff than his own girlfriends, who he often treated badly. My only fear was that he might end up acting the same way with Buffy, even though that would have surprised me considering the utmost esteem he had for her.

Of course there was also Buffy and Faith. Those two had a really good chemistry in S3, and in some scenes you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Why didn't Faith kiss Buffy on the lips in 'Enemies'?! Arghhh, way to disappoint all the fans. 😉

More Fuffy would have been perfect 🙂. You know, when I first watched S3, I was actually surprised that it didn't happen between them. I remember thinking that there was no way Faith wasn't into Buffy.
 
Wesley/Illyria - It would have been awesome to see Wesley cope with the realization that he had feelings for the being that burned up Fred's soul and was walking around looking like her. Their interactions on the show were one of the best things about season 5, and by the end of the series I felt that they genuinely cared for each other.

Angel/Faith - These two always had fantastic chemistry, but over on Angel they formed a real connection. I think the two of them would be drawn by each other's darkness. Besides, I think Faith would be a better fit for Angel than Buffy would.

Angel/Fred - Fred's crush on Angel was cute, as was her absolute trust in him. There was always a bit of chemistry there. Chemistry I never really felt with Fred/Gunn and Fed/Wesley.
 
I would have loved to see Gwen/Gunn develop. I have always loved the episode Players and how Gwen recognises what the gang doesn't - that Gunn is much more than just "the muscle". They have pretty hot chemistry too!

The other one would have to be Cordy/Xander as adults. As teenagers they were too emotionally immature to handle their feelings for each other or their relationship in general. After they "grew up" I always thought they would have been perfect for each other.
 
I know there are some obvious picks like Xander/Buffy or
Xander/Willow but I like some of these obvious relationships
left as 'almost' or 'what-if'. Some of the ships I wanted to
see were the ones that maybe the viewer may have detected
but it wasn't so obvious to the Buffyverse.

Connor/Faith - If anyone may have happened. Maybe even in
a close-call or a wam-bam-thankyou-maam kinda deal it was
this one.

Willow/Fred - While I don't see this ship really working. I think
it would have been enjoyable to see the two give it a shot. It
may have even worked.

Spike/Anya - While it was a one night stand. Comfort during pain.
As you can tell I am a fan of these two. With these two being my
two favorite characters from the show. It would have been so
great, and possibly awkward to watch

Giles/Anya - Probably would have been a great relationship.
Although I don't believe opposites attract I do believe they could
have made a great ying-yang.

Dawn/Andrew - Because its creepy with Xander for some reason..
 
Gunn & Anne- I lived their interaction although we didn't get to see much of them. They had so much in common & I thought that there was some chemistry there.

Doyle & Cordy of course.

Lindsey & Darla in a sick, twisted way lol.

Giles & Joyce. Alhough I can also see Giles & Anya, so in that case...Snoyce!!! (Where's [MENTION=10790]Goby[/MENTION]? 😉 )
 
When I first started watching the show, I really hoped that Xander and Willow would have a relationship, but now that I'm 'older' and more 'mature', I'm kinda glad that they didn't, because I think it would have ruined their friendship a bit if they had broken up at some point

All I can say to this is.... YES YES YES!!!! I've been saying this for so long too! Glad to have another Gwen/Gunn shipper on board! 🙂

Ah another couple I SOOOO wish would have coupled up! I think they could really go the distance and I'll tell you why....

As far as we've seen (on the shows) Faith has had nothing but one night stands. She seems to use sex as a way of letting off steam, or bolstering her ego - but NOT as a means of truly connecting with another human being. I don't even think she sees the men she has sex with (during the act at least) as human but as an object to fulfill her need in the moment - in fact she freaks out when riley shows affection (thinking she's buffy after) "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM HER?"

Connor is pure innocence..(now don't throw rotten veggies at me).... he knows his whole life has been a lie but he makes himself act as though he believes it to please holtz.... He tries to hate angel, but really can't... the first girl he meets in LA tries to explain heroin to him and he just can't get it. "You're sad?"

When he meets faith he is totally blown away by her. I think if they did get together, his innocence and her jadedness could really come together in a beautiful way and I think both would grow from the experience.

Parker and Faith

Candlelight. Flowers. Emergency ward. Intensive Care. Vengeance is mine saith the screenwriter. A nice story arc where we all know how it would end - unless Joss threw in a twist.

Murk and Eve.

They deserve each other. They both served the wrong masters. And bad things were predicted.

Xander and Katrina

Better match than Warren and Katrina. I doubt Xander would have killed her.

Connor and Gwen

Sparks would fly.

I like seeing all the support for Faith/Buffy. I remember being convinced that it was going to happen during season 3, a large part of which was the amazing chemistry between Eliza and Sarah (along with Eliza specifically playing up the sexual tension). Of course, it would be a really screwed up relationship, what with their severe intimacy and relationship issues, so it wouldn't be all hugs and puppies. Of course, just because it won't be simple doesn't mean that there's no point.

There are others that intrigue me, but this is the only one that I really wanted to see happen.

I've been busy writing my first novel, "Snoyce in Space."
 
The only real pairing I wanted to see that didn't happen would be Willow and Spike. I think they were hilarious/odd together in Lover's Walk and then again in one early episode of season 4 that I can't recall the name of currently.
 
I've been convinced and sold on Willow/Faith so that. In Season Seven it just would have worked and made sense ten times more than Willow/Kennedy. Ew.
 
Couples I would've loved to see happen...

ANGEL/CORDELIA (I cried when she died. I wanted them to be happy together)

Xander/Kendra (I know its weird, but I love seeing her all weirded out by him, I always felt like she had a minor crush on him that she acted so nervous and scared. Not just because she couldn't talk to boys)

Fred/Wesley (Yes they eventually did get together as a couple, but Fred died right after.)

I can't think of any other pairings.

I personally feel Buffy should've remained single. Not a fan of Spuffy
 
I wish Harmony would have gotten to be with someone who treated her well. I'm not sure who she'd best be paired with though....

I was a huge Xander/Willow shipper back when it first aired. And when they had that brief fling I was all for it but it didn't last. 🙁

Spike/Willow. It was obvious Spike-even when he was evil-had a soft spot for Willow. They would have made a cute couple I think.

Definately agree with the Spike/Willow. I heard somewhere that the writers had actually considered pairing them. Might have just been a rumor though.
