What was one relationship you wanted to see, but didn't happen?

Don't know how popular this idea is, but I think that if Dawn and Connor had met, they might have taken an interest in each other....

I would have loved, LOVED, to have seen a Buffy/Angel crossover episode where they meet and Connor tries to hit on Dawn, and Dawn just totally shuts him down.

I love seeing Connor get put in his place 🙂.
 
*waves* Board newbie here. 🙂 My most longed-for pairing is Spike/Fred. It looked as if it might happen at the beginning of AtS S5, and then again in the IDW comics...but both times my hopes were crushed. I'd give anything to see the Dark Horse comics permanently resurrect Fred and team her up with Spike; she's sweet and hilarious and like nobody he's ever courted before. She's also practically the only friend he's ever had. THEY'RE WORTH SAAAAAAAAAVING, DARK HORSE!

Giles/Joyce - We know they hooked up, but I always thought they should actually be in a relationship together. Giles was already a father figure to Buffy, and I thought he had great chemistry with Joyce.

Darla/Drusilla - I loved them together on Angel. It was so funny when that guy thought they were lesbians. They definitely had some chemistry going on.
 
I'll be forever bitter that we never got to see Buffy and Cordy become BFFs.

yeah i always felt like that was a missed opportunity
Spike/Angel. Word from the writers is that if there had been a Season 6 we would have gotten more subtext at least and perhaps more than that.
 
Oh my, there are so many pairings I would have loved to see.

Buffy/Faith: they're chemistry in season 3 was off the charts hot
Andrew/Anya: I loved their scenes together in season 7
Andrew/Xander: they were cute together
Dawn/Xander: in season 7
Willow/Fred: I feel like those two would have been perfect for each other
Darla/Drusilla: cause I mean, come on
Spike/Angel: that would have been a fun pairing
Anya/Giles: they were really cute together in season 6
Giles/Joyce: they were like the perfect parents
Buffy/Xander: it would have been nice for Xander to actually get the girl he wanted; although I don't think it would have ever worked out
 
Xander/Willow in S7. I SWEAR that's where they were going before Kennedy came along.

That would never have been a thing since Willow is a lesbian. Maybe in the earlier seasons before she had come to terms with her sexuality.
Faith and Buffy

On AtS, I would have wanted them to show a flashback of Angel and Spike.
 
Whenever I watch Dollhouse and Paul and Adelle are in a room together, I just want them to throw down and have angry sex.

Seriously, so much sexual tension between those two! They wouldn't work as a couple, but the sex would probably be really hot.

The thread asked what ships we would've liked to have seen and I answered. A lot of people are putting Buffy/Faith together even though they're both straight, so why did you single me out? Also, they originally planned to put Willow with a male in S7 but backed out due to the backlash of Tara's death, so there was still a sliver of possibility.

First off I agree, this thread is about who you want together, not if it was ever possible or if it ever made sense. But I'm just curious, where did you hear they wanted to put Willow with a guy in s7? I've always heard Joss say he wanted to keep Willow with a girl after Tara.

i think 'deus ex machina' is right i have seen something along those lines on the internet although i think it was less a case of them wanting to pair willow with a man and more a case of joss and co feeling like that couldnt be an option even if they wanted due to the backlash and claims of homophobia they were already getting due to tara's death. as for where i saw it no clue i read random buffy articles on the internet so it may not be the gospel but it sounds legit considering the circumstances

PS: to answer the thread i wish we could have seen doyle and cordelia

Yeah, I read random articles online that Joss and Co wanted to explore that but then thought about the backlash and was like "NOPE", although I wish they had explored it because bi-erasure bothers me a great deal.

your wiki quote is the exact thing i read, bi erasure bothers me too, this is not the thread for it (there is another on Willow's sexuality) but i feel like bi would have been a plausible choice for willow im not saying ONLY, just plausible. but i doubt that willow as a character would have gone to a guy after tara ,might have seemed like a betrayal like tara was just a 'phase'
 
Giles and Anya! I loved them so much in Tabula Rasa, and I think they could have worked together <3 Though she'd definitely be trying his patience. A lot 😛
