What was the "end of days" the Amora demon was talking about?

In "I will remember you", the Amora demon Buffy and Angel encounter talks at length about some vague "end of days" and "rising darkness" that is coming, and which will kill Buffy if Angel remains human. The Oracles then confirm this. Is it The Scourge, in the next Angel episode, which kills Doyle? Is it Glory? I can't see it being Jasmine, because her whole ridiculous plot doesn't work if Angel is human.

I always took it as when Angel became a vampire again, and in turn a champion again, they avoided that specific threat.

Looking back now, it seems as if the demon was talking about the battle in S7 [considering there actually was an episode called "End of Days"]??

But...that can't be right, can it?

Makes sense if it were referring to the battle against the first in season 7. If Angel had become human, he might not have ever received that amulet that he then delivers to Buffy and then passes on to Spike, thus eliminating that whole chain of events that took place, which could have resulted in her death.

The irony of the whole "End Of Days' thing was that Buffy died ayhow, and almost exactly how the Amora demon predicted. Instead of giving her life protecting Angel, she gave her life protecting Dawn. Either way, Buffy died protecting someone who she loved.

The "End Of Days" as it was referred to here might be just a generic phrase, meaning whatever version of the apocalypse is currently taking place, or it could have been more personal, referring to, literally, the "End Of Days," as in the last LIVING days for Buffy and Angel, though not necessarily the entire world.

Either way, the Powers obviously took advantage of Angel's concern (one might even say panic) at hearing that he would be responsible for her death. They managedto regain Angel's services without actually changing Buffy's fate in any appreciable manner, since she died anyhow. I've always wondered why Angel never seemed to figure that out for himself

I always thought it referred to S7's End of Days.

It wasn't just that Lilah gave Angel the amulet that cleansed the evil out of Sunnydale, sealing the Hellmouth forever.

It was when Caleb was about to deliver the death blow to Buffy and Angel arrived just in time to stop him. Had Angel not been there, Buffy wouldn't have gotten to regroup and kill Caleb. She would've died and nobody would've come up with the idea to activate the entire Slayer line. The First Evil "coming darkness" would've tipped the scales to the side of evil, the Potentials & Faith would've been wiped out ending the Slayer line, and the First Evil would've become corporeal.

Angel was meant to be there in End of Days. He was not meant to be there in The Gift. Angel assumed when he reverted to being a vampire, that if Buffy were ever in the kind of danger that his assistance was needed, Doyle would get another vision. I think there was a reason that when Buffy sacrificed herself in The Gift, the new Seer (Cordelia) was in the dimension of Pylea, cut off from Earth.

There was nothing to save in The Gift. It was all about the choice. Should Buffy allow Dawn to die or should she take her place in the ritual? That one decision is what fuels the rest of the series. Each apocalypse after that has been connected like a domino effect.

I always wondered if we were supposed to think of Buffy's guardian spirit telling her that "death" is her gift in the same way we took the Shanshu prophecy. Remember how Wesley translated "death" and then later realized it could mean "life" because life and death are the same thing, part of a cycle?
