I've taken to buying older movies on DVD lately.

I was in a mood for comedy so recently I bought "A Night At The Roxbury", "Spaceballs" and "Mystery Men". Yeah, yeah, I realize they're not very highbrow when it comes to delivering the yuks, but those are fun flicks, dammit.

Seriously? If so, why. Maybe I shouldn't ask that, what else can the answer be. Its just there is so much porn on the internet, and once you've seen one of them, its not like suddenly they're gonna make a porn that brings something new to the table.

I might often be a big jerky insensitive crass guy, borderline jock, but I just don't get porn at all. OK I get it, I just don't see, actually I dunno.

I guess its just like, uh..crapping. When you gotta go, you gotta go. And rather use soft velvet, than rough sandpaper to accomplish the job as best as possible.

Oh, and I have no idea the last dvd I bought. It must have been some time ago.

I had NO choice! And I certaintly did not spend 5 hours today listening to the commentary and watching 2 discs of special features!

Double posting... sorry. Noone's been buying movies lately? Well, the other day I bought My Date with Drew (highly recommend it!) And Dead Like Me the Complete Series which has S1 and 2 and the movie, and I found it for just 35 dollars!!!

I just bought the Director's Cut of Donnie Darko. I just had the regular movie on a single DVD without any extras and since I just love extras (and the movie too, of course) and the DVD was on sale... Now I have two Donnie Darko DVD's.

Big ole comic book nerd-me bought the Tales of the Black Freighter DVD tonight... (The dvd is based on the pirate comic that is woven into the comic version of Watchmen) I am waiting for Hubby to come home and the kiddies to not be around to watch it though.

The special effects are dated but good, the air of expectancy is enthralling. From the cult hit series that was shown in 1953 to 1958.
Was it well received? questions about it being suitable to be aired on television were raised in the British parliament. It was because of Queen Elizabeth saying she wanted to keep watching it that it probably stayed on the air.

I just re-bought all seven seasons of Buffy as my dad ruined all my old ones when he was having a hissy fit...oh well...i also bought Wrong Turn, don't know if it's any good, i just bought it because Eliza Dushku was in it and it looked ok...

Wrongturn isnt that bad, well i dnt find it scary one bit tbh,
probably cos ive watched it over and overrr,
ha, i re-bought all seven seaons of Buffy after xmas, as my mum leaves thm out, and lost some!
i got the whole 7 boxset, at amazon for #60, i think thats dead good ; )

as i paid like 60/70 pounds for some seasons, as they had just came out at the time
and they were the wee book ones lol

I know, I've loved it for so long!!! But sadly the complete series was just 1 season, 18 episodes. I've been recruiting and watching it with 2 sets of friends, so now that I've decided to go ahead and buy it despite how effing expensive it is it'll be easier than renting it on Netflix 🙂 Fly over and have a marathon with us! 😉

Arcade Fire's Miroir Noir.

By far the prettiest DVD packaging I've ever seen, although when I preordered it last year, they sent out a download version of the actual film. There were a lot of problems with the download and download website, but the idea was still a good one.

Cool, but a bit too ambitious so not all of it works. And obviously, if you've got no interest in the band, you won't get a hell of a lot out of it.

Still, this is damn near the cutest thing I've ever heard:
