Not when you started watching Buffy, but when - which episode, which article, essey, whatever, is when you told to yourself: "I'm a fan"?

I realized I was a fan in the end of season 2, after Buffy killed Angel and "Full of Grace" was playing. I had tears in my eyes and I didn't want to eat dinner. (yeah, I used to be a Bangel, before the term "Spuffy" was existed). After that, I went to the computer, to get to know and read about the actors in my new favorite series.

I can't point to an exact moment, but it was probably around the time I started being Very Annoyed at the bus schedule because it got me home JUST as Buffy was starting. Either that, or when I started to actually buy the DVDs.

I just started.. kinda a newbie too in that.
I had seen it before but the series never caught me (I think I was too young) and then this summer, when I was home during the day and my parents at wortk, I had nothing to do but watch telly. On Tv2 Zulu they had started rerunning Buffy, and I got in in the first part of season 5 (immediate Spuffy action KAPOWEE)
I knew I had missed a lot, but figured I could catch up, by reading about previous episodes online. And suddenly something happened. I was sitting home, and got invited out shopping(something I like very much) and I said : "No I have to watch Buffy." 🙂 I had become a fan.

I always liked the show, I loved all the characters, and I couldn't wait for the next episode. But I always know when I'm completely an utterly obsessed with a show, because it can make me cry. With BTVS it came very early on, 'Becoming PT2' that's when I knew I was a fan for life.

Im in love with your sig and avatar. Beautiful :)
For me i was watching a season five episode i think it was 'real me' at my friend Alex's hosue and i had no real interest in it then teh theme tune came on and i loved it so i thought next week when it was on the tv again i would watch an episode and see what i thought etc, after watching the whole episode i was hooked i wanted more buffy and i wanted it now lol, i had to go to my other friends house and borrow all her videos off her so i could watch it. My addiction just went from there lol

I remember NOT liking it when it first aired because it did not reference the movie at all. It took time to get used to a different Buffy. I remember thinking the Xander character was meant to be "Pike" it took awhile before I could exorcise the differences between the show and the movie. Once that happened, I was hooked. One of the funniest lines for me comes in season two's The Dark Age, when Buffy turns off the music and Giles says "and the rest is silence." That is the phrase taken from the movie that I could never really figure out.. anyway.

I would like to say I was a fan from the start, but I know by the season finale and the money shot of her wearing the leather jacket and the prom dress, and the music kicks in, that was the 'it' moment for me and when the movie Buffy finally faded.

So this is so easy for me. It was season two, the two night special when Buffy officially moved from Mondays to Tuesdays on the WB and we got to witness for the very first time a very bad side of our dear beloved Angel. I could so relate because I myself was deep in the midst of my first real love situation and "literal" metaphor or no, I totally got the evil boyfriend thing. Loved it and from that moment on I was hooked.

I found Buffy in July of this year. Didn't watch any of it when it first aired because once I miss even one episode of a new show, fuggedaboutit!

However, for some reason this year, I kept thinking that I wanted to rent BtVS to see if it was any good. I mused this out loud to a friend one day, and he actually had the Chosen collection.

I realized I was hooked when 1. I immediately started getting on IMDB and the forums I already visited to read what others thought of Buffy (and unfortunately spoiling myself in the process). 2. I was going through 8 and 9 episodes a day, even considering I was working 9 hours a day. I didn't want to go to bed, I just wanted to keep going. Now that I've seen them all, I just want all things Buffy: the comics, the cds, etc..

Well, I liked it a lot from the beginning and bought every episode iTunes had within about three days; however, it wasn't my favorite show until the Surprise/Innocence two-parter (and saying it was my favorite show was a big thing for me because, before Buffy, I was pretty much the world's biggest Heroes freak.) After that, I got the Chosen Collection for Christmas and managed to watch all of seasons 3-7 within about two weeks, then got Angel and finished that after a couple months (I didn't get the complete box set and had to get a season at a time, plus I wasn't on break anymore, so I couldn't just charge through like I did with Buffy.)

And the rest is history 😀

By chance one fine day(in jan 2000), i was skipping through the channels, and the end of re-run of innocence was on and i kept watching coz SMG was hot. So i watched the new eppy Harsh light of Day lter that week, followed by in the dark, and i was hooked and reeled instantly. Total Buffyhead.

I think about when Season 5 was on the air here and I was rushing home and watching it before doing homework or anything.

My older sister and ex boyfriend got me into it, but I guess I was a full-on fan when I properly started borrowing dvd's and watching them episode by episode, season by season, it's addictive stuff, I'm a pure Buffy junkie now.

I'm one of maybe a hundred people in the world who actually liked the movie. Donald Sutherland was great, Rutger Hauer was completely wasted, and Kristy Swanson was...Kristy Swanson. Sadly, she never improved with age. As for the series, I knew that there was one, but I had never seen it until a friend asked me to tape "Once More With Feeling" for him because he wasn't going to be at home when it came on. halfway to the first commercial, I realized that I was hooked.

Can't say an exact moment but it was very early on.

When I decided to check Buffy out I first bought the season 1 DVD only. Didn't want to spend all the money if I didn't liked it.
After disc 1 I got up from the sofa and ordered the other 6 seasons online. I had no doubt at all that would love the rest of it.
Also remember being very annoyed that I managed to finish season 1 before I got the rest of DVD's so I had to wait a day or so.

I would have to say after the season finale of Season One. It wasn't anything about the episode in particular that made me click that I was a fan. But rather the fact of how impatiently I waited for season two to air. And during that waiting time all other shows seemed boring in comparison. I kept thinking "If this were a Buffy episode...." so yes, then I knew I was a fan. And well on the way to being a Buffy Geek. Haha.

I actually started with Angel S1 because my brother had told me it was a cool show I think i realized I was a fan when I got all angry when Doyle died

hm...probably when i was on my first fanboard, for a different show, and all i could really talk about was angel and buffy instead of the show 🙂. thats how i found BB in the first place; someone joined that board, noticed my obsession, and told me to come here instead. ...and then they werent even posting much here or anything, and i doubt they've visited more than a couple times since ive joined, but i love it here, so i dont really care 😀.

I was one of those "Eww, Buffy, really?" people. My friend lent me season one as a deal of sorts.

So for me it would have to be at the end of season one, when I immediately went out and bought seasons two, three, four, and five because I couldn't waste precious time finding out whether or not she already had them.

and this is why you will love OTH, because you are always wrong at first xo
I don't know when I became a fan, but I do know when I realised it.

I'm not sure of the exact moment, but I know it was somewhere inbetween climbing over the hedge into Sarah Michelle Gellars garden, and the coppers shoving me into the back of the car.

Sitting in the car on the way to the cop shop, I thought to myself, "I'm a bit of a fan.."

heehee amusing
I couldn't pinpoint a specific moment when I was like okay now I'm a fan, because I think I was a fan all along. I always kept a really open mind about it and had total faith. So i would honestly say that I started being a fan from the moment that I found out the show was going to premiere on the WB. Started seeing ads in magazinnes and promos on TV and I anticipated the pilot like I hadn't with any other show. This is maybe an obscure reference for most here not old enough to remember but there was this show maybe a couple of years before Buffy premiered called Swan's Crossing that starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, it was a cheesy teen soap but I loved it at the time. So the fact that SMG would be starring in the Buffy tv show had me all the more excited. I was a fan before it even started and gladly I was never dissapointed 🙂
