What was the moment you realized you were a fan?

Well, I liked the show years before that, but the moment I rweally knew I was so fanatic about it was at the end of s1, in PG when Xander, Angel and Buffy walk along the street and the Buffy theme song is playing...Oh I got so excited!
 
s1 finale had me thinking...I could really get into this show (I'd never been a fandom person or obsessed with anything at that time - oh how things change) and by the time the season 2 premiere rolled around and i had been sitting anticipating it for WEEKS, I knew i was hooked, and by ep 3 of season 2, i'd made a posse of friends at my high school (BtVS used to air at 10.30pm in Aus) and I'd tape and bring in the episdoe and we would watch it every Wednesday morning before homeroom and then dissect it straight after, best Buffy days ever, it's probably why i have such a soft spot for s2 and 3 because of those mornings in teh classrooms 🙂

I knew i was a fan when i started refering to the day it aired as "Buffyday"; that would have been about mid season two. Funny, now i refer to the days when the comics get released as "Buffyday" "Angelday" and "Spikeday"

Well i can not remember when i was a fan the first time i watched Buffy but i stopped watching it for like 4 years them for Christmas my mom got me part 2 of season 2 part 1 of season 4 and part 1 of season 5 and they sat on my shelf for ages i didn't watch them then one day i figured what the hell I'll watch an episode or a tape so i put the earliest one i had on season 2 bad eggs i think and then i kept watching and then About two episodes later i was watching and i realized in my head i was suddenly cheering Buffy on i was thinking like "go Buffy go Buffy kick some ass" while she was fighting and i remember sitting there for a minute and then saying "Oh my god" as if to say here we go again because i knew i was hooked again.
 
Right now....

I watched the show from the start, and still remember the promos for the show, and me and my mum were all excited for the show starting...

my mum was asking today how its possible to like a show for so long with so much passion actually... and my sis (who is STILL watching it thru, her next ep is doublemeat palace,) said that she remembers me talking about it and seeing bits of it whilst she was growing up but she wasnt old enough to watch it (remember she was born at the end of 1998... she's younger than the show lol)
 
Yeah right. Like I´m gonna watch a show called Buffy the vampire slayer?!! I´m not 13 any more. That was my initital thought. But it started about the time I got home from work and since the channel (only had 3) showing it was the only one that had something even remotely watchable at that time of day I decided to give it a chance. It´s not like I needed to confess it to anybody and the girl in the promo did look kind of hot.

Not that I became a fan at first sight. It was enjoyable to watch but not much more. Did I miss an episdoe were would be a new one the next day anyway.( we got it so late they had a few seasons to go through) so it went along like that. Started to care about the characters but nothing mayor. The first 3 season went on rerun in wait for season 4. Ok, I really enjoy this show but no I don´t love it. Still not a teenager!! But after a whil longer I gave in. Ok, this show is very good. But I´m not gonna tell my friends how much I like it.

Took me while to get "obsessed" though. Don´t think I realised until I rewatched the whole thing for the third time or something. But the obsession only lasted for a few weeks. I started to watch a new show and Buffy and Angel wasn´t that important anymore. Sure I liked it but nowhere near an obsession as it was the first weeks after I finished watching. That it was an obsession while wathing goes without saying.

Then last year I decided to give the comics a chance. I´d given up on comics a long time ago. But I needed more so I really had no choice. Then it was time for a new rewatch and after I was finsihed I found this place. Because I couldn´t go looking for it while I was watching the show. Duh! But after I was finished I needed more again. So a board was the next step (what didn´t cost any money). Was a little worried about the language issues but I decided to register and lurk around (as seen in my thread in the check in). Can´t say I didn´t get warned and we all know what happened with the idea of just lurking around.

Now I´m here and I´m telling everyone to watch the show (after years of nagging my big sister finally gave in). Hi! My name is Tobias and I´m a Buffyholic. 😀
 
I realised I was a "fan" after watching some episodes, having them in mind but no action, when a friend of my brother said he liked it, and I said oh yeah that series, I like it too. And I don't know why but that friend of him is the reason I bought the dvd's. And no it wasn't to impress him or something, he's two or three years younger so xD.
 
I was a huge fan of the movie when it came out and I was watching on and off since it first started but the episode Earshot made me a full fledged fan. When season 4 and Angel started, I never missed an ep. Then I bought the seasons as they came out.
