What was with the promo images for this season?

No offense to Sarah Michelle Gellar, but the promo pics for Season 6 & 7 just weren't flattering at all 😱.

I'm talking about these type of pics:

I'd say out of all the pics of Buffy these were probably the worse ones. It was also kinda tacky they re-used them for Season 7 as well 😱

It's strange because I don't recall Buffy looking that bad in Season 6 or season 7. But in the promo pics they made her look really pale 😱. What went wrong? lol

I blame poor photography, especially the lighting. It wasn't just SMG though. I thought a lot of them were awful.

Yeah, the one with Willow looked weird as well. Her hair was completely different to how it appeared in the actual show 😱

Though yeah, I'm a bit confused as to why they reused the promo pics for Season 7. And that the color of her eyes is kinda off in the Season 7 picture. Doesn't SMG have hazel/green eyes?

We have to remember, folks, that this isn't supposed to be SMG or AH, but Buffy and Willow, and forgetting AH's hair for the minute, Buffy went through hell during S6, maybe the photos were supposed to represent that?

Yeah I definitely wasn't feeling season 6 promo pix. Not only do they look washed out, but SMG actually looks SICKLY. She looks almost anorexic in some of the photos, her eyes look like she's not really focusing on anything, and that little almost smile looks very forced. Honestly she looks more alive and healthy in The Gift! When she was all eyes open coma girl! I think all of them looked really bad that go round, and it DOES suck big time that they used the same pix for season 7...

Maybe SMG wasn't feeling well the day they did the pics... Like I said before, I don't think they're THAT bad but they're definitely not her best. In my opinion, the best promo shots were the Season 2 and Season 5 ones.

I've always thought the S6 promo shots were terrible, and it's not just SMG. Alyson and Amber's pics are really bad as well, as are the ones of Emma Caulfield.

I don't know if it's a combination of bad lighting and bad make-up, but the end result is just not nice.

Nick and James' pics are okay, but not brilliant. Again, they look washed out and weird.

Wha?? I think she's really beautiful here. Her eyes are gorgeous. I was like "Wow, Buffy isn't that tan." 🙂 I just don't like that they reused S6 pics for S7. 😱

And S5 promo pics are my least favorite. I don't like their clothes and hair. Especially Buffy's. Her hair didn't convince me she's 20. 😛

They don't really flatter her beauty..that's what I think. And yes, Sarah doesn't have blue eyes. Sometimes promotional pictures are quite bad but the season 4 ones were the best for Sarah..she looked insanely pretty.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks this! The photos of Buffy weren't particularly flattering compared to the years before (the lighting was a little odd, almost too strong), and the makeup they put on Dawn/Tara was just WIERD. I was really dissapointed that these were the final promo images we ever got for the show, they didn't suit the feel of the series at all. 🙁
