You're Welcome - The Chemisty of Angel and Cordy is just too good. Her absence made the fifth season not as good as the previous ones. IMO.
 
Time Bomb...

My favorite episode would have to be Time Bomb. I love Illyria. And especially her speech. It not just set Angel on the right path, but it was true. Second would have to be A Hole in the World. My favorite couple has always been Wes and Fred, even when they weren't one. That broke my itty bitty heart, lol. And third would be Smile Time. Hilariously funny! The fight between Puppet Angel and Spike- priceless. Honorable mention to Not Fade Away. The love, the power, the fighting! No wonder AtS is awesome!
 
My favourite episode that season would have to be "Not Fade Away". I really loved all of the episodes in season five, they got really creative and it had a lot of highlights in it. Cordy coming back for "You're Welcome", David making his directing debut in "Soul Purpose", and of course the puppet-Angel in "Smile Time". But out of all the episodes the Finale was my favourite.
When I watched it I laughed, cried, and it seemed to tie together everything that'd happened over the season. But the thing that I loved most about it was the ending. Joss Whedon left it on a cliffhanger but I can't think of any other ending he could have done that would've done the show justice. It left it open for the fans to figure out, and after reading all the fanfics and theories on what might've happened after the final scene ended I think the cliffhanger was brilliance, and it shows that even though the show's over, the story will go on.
 
For me.....alot of the epesoids that made me cry in buffy and angel are my favorites.......i realy liked not fade away and a hole in the world too.......but i didn't realy think that angle came to a full circle when it ended.......it kinda depressed me
 
I voted for 'You're Welcome.' I absolutely loved it, because I'ma major fan of Cordy and or her and Angel as a couple and I was very glad not only to see Cordy back, but also to see her & Angel finally kiss. I'm just really sad that she had to die right after it. Angel's face when he found out Cordy was gone was heartbreaking, IMO. I aslo thought this episode was very well done, more specifically these scenes:
1) when Spike tried to bite Cordy and Angel stops him
2) when Eve hangs up the phone and C & A are there
3) when Harmony offers to torture Eve(hilarious)
4) when Angel and the others realize that Lindsay is back
5) Lindsay and Angel's fight
6) at the end when Harmony says(about Eve)- "I kep begging her to run, but...
 
I went with Not Fade Away, it was just a brilliant episode. I also loved: Destiny, Damage, You're Welcome, Smile Time, A Hole In the World, and Origin. Everyone did just a brilliant job of acting this season and Amy Acker was fantastic as Illyria.
 
I voted for Not Fade Away but I really think You're Welcome is tied with it. And Power Play comes in 2nd for me. It seemed like everything was falling apart until the very end we got a dramatic Jossverse closeness between the characters.
 
Smile Time is my favorite, it was so funny & I love puppet Angel. You're Welcome was great because it felt like all the best parts of the old Angel show with Cordy and Lindsey there. A Hole in the World made me cry the most so that was a great episode. Great acting by Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof. Damage was a really cool episode. This season was just great.
 
Not Fade Away ... there's not even a single doubt in my mind about that one. It was IMO the best episode of the whole series. Runner-up "Harm's Way" was quite nice too 😉
 
You're Welcome closely followed by Not Fade Away.

How can you not love Cordy and Cordy and Angel?! I mean Angel is at his best when he's with her and their chemistry was superb. It was like everything will work out just fine when she got back and even though I knew it was coming the ending was so sad and in my opinion just as good as Willow and Anyas' break downs in The Body, excellent.

Not Fade Away was such a good episode and the perfect ending for Angel. Everyone spending their last day and going out fighting. Moreover I have to ad that Gunn might be the most loveable character of them all. He made his mistakes, but all in all he was truly the best of them all. He had a pure heart.
 
I really liked A hole in the world. With Fred as one of my favorite character, and seeing her fading away was heart-breaking.

But I also think that Not Fade Away was really great and a fantastic series finale.

Hole in the world - aye. Though Smile Time does come a close second.
 
I've just gotten through all of season 5 on DVD except for Not Fade Away. I know it's great, one of the best eps in the Buffyverse. But I can hardly bring myself to watch it again cause it's so bittersweet and all my first time Angel DVD viewing will be over!

But I guess I can dream that Joss will pick up the story again in some medium, sometime.
