I voted for The Girl in Question because I really couldn't pick one. I like this particlar episode because I think that Angel and Spike are just hilarious in the ep.
Totally, totally. 😀
The Girl In Question said:
(Angel and Spike are standing in the middle of a piazza at night, waiting.)
ANGEL I helped save the world, you know.
SPIKE Like I haven't.
ANGEL Yeah, but I've done it a lot more.
SPIKE Oh, please.
ANGEL I closed the hellmouth.
SPIKE I've done that.
ANGEL Yeah, you wore a necklace. You know, I helped kill the mayor and, uh, and Jasmine and"”
SPIKE Do those really count as savin' the world?
ANGEL I stopped Acathla. That saved the world.
SPIKE Buffy ran you through with a sword.
ANGEL Yeah, but I made her do it. I signaled her with my eyes.
SPIKE She killed you. I helped her! (points) That one counts as mine.
ANGEL My point is I'm better than this. OK? We're better than this. What the hell could Buffy see in him?

I know it was bashing season five was a thing, but I really enjoyed it. And I'd single out:

Life of the Party
The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco
Harm's Way
You're Welcome
Smile Time
A Hole in the World
Shells
The Girl in Question
Not Fade Away

as episodes I could easily recall enjoying when they first aired, without referring to the DVDs. That's almost half the season right there and to my way of thinking, that was a good season.

I love Your Welcome. They found a way to incorporate every major character that's ever been on Angel into the episode. I loved the way they had that final goodbye to Doyle and Glenn Quinn by playing the comercial one last time. I cried when Cordy died, but it was better to have her die now then to have her slowly rot away in a coma through out the rest of the series....... Smile Time was freeking awesome too, and how exactly does one contract "Puppet Cancer"?

hey, I'm back.. Havnt been here in ages!!!!!

In Norway, series 4 runs on tuesdays and series 5 on thursdays!:happy30:
A Whole in the World was on last thursday....

Smile time is the most funniest episode EVER!!!!!! couldnt stop laughing!!(still cant) Wee little puppet man!!!
But I really liked You're welcome and A whole in the world! SO sad when Fred died!!!

You're Welcome, there is no second thought about it. Cordy rushes in and takes over the episode and the instant I knew what was lacking all the time. Not that I didn't knew before, but then it was tangible. That phone call at the end destroys me every time.

Next would be Origin and Not Fade Away. These three brought closure to the characters I loved and adored.

You're Welcome was my favourite episode of season 5. Though on reflection its not a particularly clever episode, in fact its quite dumb. Its more a shout-out to the fans than a great episode of television.

Conviction: Angel asserts that mercy is the most powerful thing in the world, then tells the bad guy that he won't be using it. Huh?

Just Rewards: I thought this was a good introduction to how Spike and Angel's relationship would be, and to how it would grow.

Unleashed: I can't even remember this episode. It must have been bad?

Hell Bound: A brilliantly dark episode. Exactly what Angel was/should be about.

Life of the Party:This? On the other hand was useless nonsense. You can't even excuse it as a light episode, hell, it wasn't even humourous.

The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco: This is a weird episode. It's concept is good, I'm just not sure Mexican wrestlers were the way to go.

Lineage: Good insight into Wesley, but the plot of the episode seemed a little off. It would have been better if they could tie this episode into events further down the line.

Destiny: The story didn't matter did it? Just to get Spike and Angel in that room. All that history and emotion comes gushing out. Great episode, plus it had consequenes to the characters and the season as a whole, instead of being just another stand alone with no development.

Harm's Way: Don't really remember it. It might have been funny, but I didn't care about Harmony, so..

Soul Purpose: Interesting insight into Angel, I guess..

Damage: Best thing about this episode? Angel visiting Spike in the hospital at the end, and instead of the usual snide remarks, they are both civil to one another, and reflective to each others pasts. Instead of it being the thing that keeps them apart(that they throw in each other's faces), it becomes the thing they both can relate to in each other.

You're Welcome! ~ 100th Episode: Bah! I could sit and shoot holes in the plot all day, but that's not what's important is it? An emotionaly draining episode, which sadly see's the end of one of the greatest characters(If not the greatest) Angel has had the good fortune to meet.

Why We Fight: Hmm, I wouldn't have hated this episode if it had been placed elsewhere, but just after the death of such a major character, I would have liked to have seen some sort of fallout(instead of this copout). Plus, the point also wen't waay over my head.

Smile Time: Seriously?

A Hole in the World: Too much. Too cheesy. Too dumb.

Shells: A much better effort, also this episode generated much more emotion for me than One less Hoe in the World.

Underneath: This one just bored me, to be honest.

Origin: This? I feel, has the best moment in the series. When Connor tells Angel, "You've got to do what you can to protect your family. I learned that from my father". Give that boy a cigar...he's gonna go far.

Time Bomb: What a kick-ass episode this was, plus it sets up the end of the series...

The Girl in Question: No, wait. We still have this pointless tripe to get through. I don't care if its funny, its fricken useless, and out of place.

Power Play: Hehe, evil Angel.

Not Fade Away: No wait, not evil. Just a suicidal halfwit. People think this was a good way to end the show? I'd rather see Angel dying to protect the ones he loves(having no choice) as opposed to just picking a suicidal fight(having a choice).

Yeah, You're Welcome was a good episode.
My favourite episode of the Season would have to be Smile Time. I just found it sooo amusing. I don't think there was a moment when I wasn't in stitches!

My favourite moment of this episode is when Angel is talking to Nina, and he takes his nose off.

Hands down, I'd say "A hole in the World". So much emotion in that one.
