for whoever asked about Cecily...

back when Spike was still human, he was a (terrible) poet and in love with this socialite named Cecily. She turned him down, he was all pathetic, and that night Dru found him and made him a vampire. it was in one of those flashback things.

By the way, does anyone HAVE any theories about how Cecily became Halfrek? Maybe the guy she ended up marrying (who was prolly a prick) cheated on her as men were wont to do in those days and she wanted some vengeance... but then, she doesn't specialize in romance....

I didn't say she had no purpose, just no special powers (in reply to someone else's comment). My explanation for why she is still alive is this (I'm kinda contradicting myself on this one): Just because no one has any desire to open the portal doesn't mean there still can't be a key. You can have a key, even if the door no longer exists, right? Also, There was never anything said about the key self-destructing if Glory was stopped or killed. Dawn is human now that there is no thing to...uh...open.. I am totally lost now. I know, why don't we ask Joss. He's the mastermind!

I wasn't trying to get into a long-winded debate. I was simply trying to explain the Dawn didn't have powers anymore.

My theory on the 'why' Spike is now human is that what he wanted in going to the guy was to be a vampire again. To 'make him what he once was'. And Spike kept saying he wanted to give Buffy 'what she deserves'.

So, #1 Spike has never been a vamp with a soul before, therefore, he can't be what he was and be a vamp with a soul. Your choices there are vamp without chip or human.

#2 He wants to be a vamp again, and these demon whatever guys are always tricky like that, so he of course couldn't get what he actually wants. It has to be something ironic, like Spike becoming human. Be careful what you wish for and all that.

#3 Giving Buffy what she deserves - double meaning. In that she actually deserves someone 'loving' rather than a vamp trying to kill her.

Just my personal reasons for believing Spike is now human. 🙂

That's exactly what I was thinking, and I think I tried to say it, but may have confused some people. LOL I'm glad someone has the same viewpoint! 😀
 
wow Ive been gone a week and I missed all the talk well lets see I believe maybe spiek was turned into a man because that was what he was befor the vampire you know and that would give buffy what she deserevs even though I still hold out hope for a spike and willow relationship LOL!!!!
 
I don't want anyone of the Scoobies to turn bad, maybe Spike will have something to do with the ending. He was pissed off in the ending of this season finale so you never know!

Thanks JustAnotherFan! Clem seems like the most obvious choice since he's the most obviously non-threatening one in the bunch.

And hey, did we ever discover exactly who the "Doctor" was that Spike was holding those eggs for? Could it be someone who happens to like spicy chicken wings and Knight Rider marathons?
 
The big bad? Well Joss said this season wasn't going to be so dark, but that a big bad new villian, quoted as being "everyone's worst nightmare" will come to town. I'm really curious as to what it is!
 
Maybe everybody's worst nightmare, is nothing at all. Their worst nightmare would be that they have no cause at all. That without a big bad, they would be useless. I'm doubting it, but it was a thought.
