What will you miss about the pandemic lockdown?

We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and it was making me think that as awful as all the closures have been, there are some things I'll miss. I thought of this today, because I have two schools in my neighborhood, and I have enjoyed the lack of traffic and availability of parking during their closures, and not being surrounded by gym-class joggers on the trails.

I'll also miss the camaraderie that people felt and exhibited, at least in my city, the way we felt like we were all in this together, with teddy bear scavenger hunts, "think positive" sidewalk signs, everybody out for walks because there was nothing else to do, and just that sense of fellow feeling that so many other people, rich or poor, famous or obscure, CEO or wage grunt, were pretty much in the same boat.

I'll miss all the free performances on the Internet, from opera and plays, to Patrick Stewart reading Shakespeare sonnets.

A lot of these things have already declined, and it will be good to get back to normal, but I did realize that I won't look back on this time wholly without nostalgia. Anybody else?

I can't say I'll miss much really, yeah it's been good to have more free time, but it's lead to me spending more money. Christmas was almost exactly as it was any other year because of where I live having lower restrictions than the rest of the country.
I don't have a commute, I can't say I got into anything new, yes I did a lot more jigsaws over the last year, but I do own jigsaws anyway, and the one I bought before I moved year over a year ago still hasn't been done! I found easier ones to do instead!
The only positives really are not having to get dressed early, and being able to food shop whenever instead of only post work in the evenings.

The traffic. It's gone! I can come off the crescent I am on to a short street and turn left onto a major road without it being hopeless. I hope this working-from-home idea remains post-lockdown because getting people off the road has been a good thing.

Not entirely sure what good bits I might be able to hold onto yet. Going to try to make working from home a part of life afterwards but we'll see. The good is all centred on that. Less commuting and less traffic when I have been out. Been able to get up later. Enjoy the garden. Even started feeding the birds.

If I can work from home more and then get on with my real life after work and at the weekends that'll be great. Hopefully the increased awareness of passing on illness might stick with people as well. Masks on public transport could be just a bit of good practice.

Obviously I'd really like people to remember who worked heroically throughout risking their lives. They deserve respect and wage increases. Also who made the situation worse while looting the public finances. We can't expect miracles though.

I'll miss how calm and empty the streets are when walking to the supermarkets. It's peaceful. And specifically during lockdown one even the supermarkets were pretty empty, I miss that.

Absolutely! Many workers are less stressed, it reduces emissions, and businesses can lease less office space. It's win-win-win.
I'll miss having to wear a mask.
I'm guessing that you're being sarcastic, but I actually do see some upsides to mask-wearing (besides the obvious). I don't have to fuss with makeup, and my face has been warmer this winter!

I like being more unrecognisable on the streets with a mask on 😂

Not at all. I have grown fond of it. I don't have to worry about wearing a fake smile when I am out as no one can see my scowl.

Ha, true! I also like being able to mouth along with my music without people thinking I'm crazy.
Feel the same way Spanky about wearing masks . With them I didn't have people saying I needed to brush my teeth more .

And another thing I miss is people being friendy to me because where I work is about the only thing open .

Honestly, nothing.

My area is not in lockdown right now, but I'm pretty sure a forth one is coming sooner rather than later, despite the vaccines.

The only thing I'll miss is slightly less traffic. Since I've been working this whole time (I know, I'm actually lucky) I haven't had the extra downtime that other people have had. I don't go out much to begin with, so my life hasn't changed that much, expect I can't go to the movies or out to eat. Looking forward to doing those things soon. When the pandemic first hit, there was hardly any traffic on the roads then slowly some of it came back, but it'll get worse again.

I'm not really commenting until we're clearly out of the woods. The UK government seem to always find away to screw things up, so I'm not getting too carried away. Interesting that Shade has spent more during the pandemic. Most people have actually spent less.

Doctors on the phone . Loving that .

I've saved a whole bunch of money . Went into 'bunker mode' for at least 6 months . Splurged a tiny bit this year , on dumb things like extra months of Prime and lottery tickets 😀 . Also eating a lot better . Still fear a huge economic crash next winter ...but at least now I'm ready for it 😉 .

With the state of my repiratory health , I think masks in winter are going to be a part of my future for the rest of my life . I'll also have to take all the vaccines ...set myself up for a pneumonia vaccine too .
