What would Buffy say?

This question pops into my head every now and again when I'm sitting around having nothing to do:

What would Buffy say if she found out that Angel was in love with Cordelia?

I keep thinking that at first she'd laugh like she did when she found out Harmony had minions!! (remember that was hillarious!)
Everone in Sunnydale still seems to think that Cordilia is a self obsessed cow so they probably wouldn't be able to believe it. But then I think that she would feel quite angry.

Angel left Buffy because he knew that he would never be able to give her the future she needs, but the future that he would be able to provide, which is basically minus the daylight and minus babies or if its true happines even sex seems to be ok for Cordelia.
I seem to be digressing from my question....oh well nver mind.
I am totally rootin for an Angel/Cordy relationship I just keep thinking poor Buffy.

I think of that type of thing often as well. What I constantly think of is that if all these crazy things are going on you'd think they'd sorta be in touch. Yet I guess not b/c they all have their own fights and stuff, but they'd be able to help each other a lot I think. I mean look at the demon-type thing Angel and the gang are facing now - don't you think that Willow could probably help out there? And even Buffy?

I don't think that Angel really is in love with Cordy. I think that maybe they just think they are in love. I mean they kept on being pushed together by Fred and her whole kyrumption thingy and you know how Cordy takes to falling for guys that she keeps being thrown into dangerous situations together. Also, if he really loved her, he wouldn't be with her because he would know that he can't give her what he seems to think that all women deserve. Sunlight, babies, etc....

Another thing that you didn't think about. What about the curse? If he really loved Cordy than if they ever slept together he would lose his soul! He didn't seem really bothered with that so I am guessing that he knows on some subconcious level that he doesn't love her like that.

Plus what about the ep. "I Will Remember You?" I mean Mohra said to Buffy and Angel that "Together you are stong, alone you are dead." And the whole Shanshu thing? Please! If Buffy and Angel weren't supposed to be together than why would Joss go to all that trouble to make an episode where he was human with buffy?

Angel/Cordy is cool, it's not a question wether they love eachother. And it doesn't matter that they can't have sex.
(Uk spoiled) - Cordy can always use Connor!

There is no such thing as "supposed to be together", not in B/A nor in B/S nor in A/C, because the writers and, most importantly, Joss don't believe in such a phenomena and neither do I.

I'm not sorry for Buffy at all, she has Spike. So are you then also sorry for Angel, because of B/S.

Rememver in Sanctuary (Angel S1) when Buffy told him about Riley and he gave that speech about how she has moved on, but he can't and that their lives are seperate now?
Well, apart from Buffy S5 when he turned up after her mother's funeral, this was the last time a real cross over happened.
Now the BB is already in LA, and as some of you have already mentioned, if it is a major apocalypse thing, why don't the folks in sunnydale know about it.

Or maybe they do! And the BB is now moving on to sunnydale....could it be the same?

they should at least be in touch via telephone. willow knows angel's telephone number. She did call before, so why not now?

And for Buffy's reaction re Cordy. I guess she would be hurt, just as Angel would be hurt if he knew about Spike..

I think Angel would be hurt worse, but quicker to forgive and realized this is the way it should be! ... the Sccobies may be too much winded up in their own affairs to attend to calling AI. But since Cordy and Willow were the ones in thouch and the both went away, there has not been any contact this summer!

A question - Willow could sense the hellmouth getting more active and stuff - if this apocalypse thing is so big, wouldn't she sense that too?

Maybe, but maybe these seasons big bads are conected, that would mean she sensed the Beast also!

Regarding what Allycat has said - Yes I do also wonder what Angel's reaction would be to the whole Buffy/Spike relationship.
You (Allycat) seem to dwell on what the writers have in store for the characters regarding relationships, but you never seem to say what you would like to happen to them.
I like to not think about the writers when I watch TV and concentrate more on their little world albeit fictional.
I get very engrossed in the characters and storylines and like to think the best for their future.
I guess everyone has a different way of watching shows like Buffy and Angel and that's fair enough.

And some people have brought up a good point. Apocolyps suggests the end of the world so why is it only people in one certain town or city know about it. Knowing what kind of evil the crew of AI or the scooby gang have to face you'd think they'd be in touch more.

I look at an involved perspective too, but sometimes it's better to take a distance in order to predict, what the future has in stalls for the characters, because if you look at it too involved you only wish for the best for the characters! ... And that's a lie to yourself, becuase they won't stay together and you'll get sucked up in your dream world, which you, subconsiously, should know, will collapse in the end. In the end they'll brake up (remember rule 1). If you think there is such a thing as "the One" in the Buffyverse you're lying to yourself aswell.

For the Apocalypse thing, since it will start in one town they find out first, the big bad has plans on doing it and a group of people will try to stop it, they know and could, if they know any, inform other groups of what's happening! They should do more cross-overs, AI en the Scoobies, but then again, it calls for so many painfull moments, besides though they're friends, they have separate lifes and have their own demons to battles (very much a double meaning)!

First of all, Buffy would be very much hurt if she found out it was Cordelia. In my opinion the Angel/Cordy thing is so very wrong. Angel doesn't truly love her. In my opinion, she's his rebound chic. He can't get over Buffy (he'll always love her!) so he has to find something, or someone, to take his mind off it. Then along comes Cordy. They work together and know each other pretty well. And Cordy rejected Angel because of the things she saw as a higher being that he did! She even said herself she did love Angel. That's past tense. Buffy knew what Angel did as Angelus and she didn't let that bother her! At this point I'm kind of rattling off, but my point is that I think if Buffy found out she would probably burst into tears. Especially since she knew Cordelia. Cordy and Angel were never truly in love. It was convenient for them.

Does that help, Jen? 😉

Nice one, sis.

Truth is, I'm tired of arguing about Angel/Buffy. I want them together; I'm all for the true/first love dealio, but I know it's not going to happen. I've moved on🙄 & I'm trying to deal/adjust to the stupid*ss Cordy/Angel crap. It's kinda weird, though, I don't mind Buffy/Spike. Maybe 'cause it's they don't go saying it's true love; 'cause that would be total bullsh*t...

Anyway, I think the only main factor in all this is the change in networks. If Buffy hadn't changed to UPN, I think the storylines would be completely different in the couple-sense. And this whole apocalpyse thing (if it still was the storyline if Buffy didn't change networks) would end up being connected in some way. Oh yes -- and a huge happening of crossoverness😛...

B/A all the way! W/O way too slow!

Hello! I do feel sorry for Angel. I mean Buffy was hurting when she said that crap to him in sanctuary. Because of how he treated her. She never loved Riley, even Riley knew that. She also doesn't love Spike. She told him that all the time.

Thanks Sis! I know I live in the Land of Denial but I dream! Its like Willow and Oz to you! (Go W/O!!) Oddly enought I understand exactly what you are saying. B/S never bothered me as much as C/A. B/S was just sex, but C/A were both looking for love, so they tried to turn lust into love. They fooled themselves though.

Me too. I completely agree. The thing we need to blame is the networks! Its all their fault! Well, partly anyways.

I am always up for crossovers!

In defense of the Angel/Cordy pairing, let's not forget that Cordy has changed since her highschool days and time as a scoobie. The Spin the Bottle Episode made that clear. I kind of assumed Cordy's power as an ultimate being might be helpful in getting that curse taken off Angel. As for Buffy, I also think she has moved on. I think Buffy would wish the couple good luck...sure there would be a bit of a pang, but I think she is emotionally mature enough to handle it. Personally, if Buffy does not end up with Spike (and thats purely a personal wish) than I think she should be alone. She's only 21! You don't usually find the everlasting "one" until later...truly how many of you on the boards are still with your first loves? And even if the shows were on the same network, I don't think Buffy and Angel would be together...cause if that happened, why would there need to be a separate spinoff show?

Good luck Cordy/Angel and Buffy and whoever 🙂 And for Willow...bring OZ back!! (OK, another personal wish of mine).

I was never for the A/C relationship.

I'll first come out and say that I'm an avid B/A supporter, so yes, that does skew my opinions, so I'm not lieing and saying these feelings come out of nowhere. I'm bitter and denial, but I do have my reasons.

I understand that Cordelia has grown, and I'm glad she has. Although I liked her humor "back in the day," I think as a character, she definitely needed to expand and the show has let her do that. But, from season one, I have been totally for the Angel and Cordelia friendship. I loved how they both grew more with each other, and how much they cared for each other... in a brother and sister way. I never saw anything romantic between them; still don't.

Honestly, I'm still wondering where all this "I love Angel" and "I love Cordelia" stuff came from with those two. It came out of nowhere, and to tell you my own opinion, it's brought the show down. Angel's out-of-character (Dork!Angel), Cordelia's this amazing super hero (St. Cordy)... Joss loves to play with relationships, I know that, but I figured for both Angel (and Buffy!) they would have those two apart for awhile... to find themselves. Just because you're single doesn't make you any less strong, or less emotionally connected.

As for SHLBLYN...
I think she should be alone. She's only 21! You don't usually find the everlasting "one" until later...
You said this in reference to Buffy. Why aren't you saying it in reference to Cordy? She's 21 (give or take a year or two, considering they were in the same grade in high school).

AngelsSoul,

I totally believe the same for Cordy (and hey, in the last episode her choices showed her to be a bit immature..and in my opinion STUPID, ewww)...but considering that Angel will be ongoing for awhile and there is a history, albeit rushed, between Angel and Cordy..I'd like to see it developed, especially if we can get that curse taken off somehow. Naked Angel is always a good thing.

My only concern for BTVS is that since this is the rumored last season and SMG is going to be a movie star...than Buffy truly can't be with Angel, since she no longer will be with a show. I also do not want to see a forced, rushed relationship between Buffy and a new character...just because we want a happy ending (although as Allycat pointed out...when does that ever happen in Joss' world?). Just the fact that there are diehard Buffy/Angel fans, even after two seasons of separation, proves that new relationships aren't accepted well.

Plus, its my general belief that first loves are just that...the first. Not the truest, not the best, not the forever...just the first. Also, I am a Buffy/Spike fan...so no matter how much I rationalize it, that's what I want! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Good post 🙂

Oh, yes. Nekkid Angel. Most definitely a good thing. I'm just not particularly supporting it with Cordelia.

I know that Buffy will come to an end soon, or that Sarah is supposedly leaving, and B/A might not get back together like most 'shippers want. For me, I just want resolution. 'Course, I don't want either one of the characters saying "Okay, I'm over [insert the name here]. I can be with you!" I want some kind of confirmation; some kind of hope, that down the road, off the television set, in the world of the Buffyverse, B/A will get back together. I know relationships aren't always happy, but I think, for us 'shippers, given the fact I've been sitting for 3 years with them apart, it's better left resolved.

I believe that, yes, first loves may not be true. But, sometimes they are. I'm a romantic. I believe in feeling over reason, and Buffy and Angel display so much qualities that I love in a television relationship. One that has effected me so much in real life. As for Buffy/Spike... eh, well... that's another post. 😀
Good post 🙂
Thanks, you too. Hehe.

Maybe because Cordy acts way more mature than Buffy.

About the first love, in the beginning (BtVS S1) Buffy didn't fall for Angel and Cordy did!

Cross-over ... bring 'em on!

I'm trying to contain myself here. Personally, I think it's the other way around. As the Slayer, Buffy had to grow up quick. Heck, even Willow said she [Buffy] was "16 going on 40" in Reptile Boy.

You do remember Cordy's first words upon seeing Angel? "Hello, salty goodness." Buffy fell for Angel because he cared for her (which eventually became mutual). Cordelia fell for him because of his looks.

You miss the point! If the "first" thing counts as an argument for best love, than I think that the first sight also count as an argument, which would be won by Cordy!
