I'm doing a Buffy / Angel rewatch on Netflix and I'm currently on Buffy S5 and Angel S2, and I'm watching Angel S2 right now, and I wonder what would Wolfram & Hart gain from turning Angel evil again? I don't get it?

As I remember W&H doesn't was Angelus, they want Angel to be working for them, because of prophecies and such. Apprently Angel will be a major player in their apocalypse , and they want him working for him, not turned (Angelus is too unpredictable, and a bit of a coward actually) but dark.
We don't know if their end-of-the-world thing has actually happened yet- S5 maybe?- But I always imagined that W&H's it would be THE last big battle that Buffy and Angel would ever fight.
I'm still waiting for W&H to reappear in A&F now that magic is back. They've got tons of new material to torture him with. 😀

Well, for one, if Angel turned evil again, they would gain the loss of a sincere pain in their side trying to thwart their evil deeds.
They could go on unperturbed just like before he came to LA. That seems like a goal worthy to work for, it's not like it seems like they're on the Slayer's or Watcher's Councils radar.

Because, to quote an old Mickey Spillane/Mike Hammer novel, "Because anyone else who comes after (Wolfram & Hart) won't be quite as good. Angel and his team were the single greatest opposition to the Senior Partners' plans in the world.
