What would you do with a time machine?

So you've got access to a time machine. Where (or rather when) would you go? Would you be the heroic type to try and change history for the better (possibly at the expense of yourself....you never know when you mess with history)? Would you just visit a time period where you really like the art/music, etc.? Would you try to visit someone you loved who's passed? Would you just like to be able to go back a few days and prevent yourself from posting something stupid on Buffy Boards?

Me? I would travel to a couple hours in the future and read the best answers to this post. Then I would come back, and steal that best answer in my original post. Now, that's using a time machine!

Or, slightly more seriously, it would be interesting to see my parents when they were my age or a bit younger. I'd be interested in knowing if they were big drunks like their children turned out to be. I'd guess yes. It would be great to confirm it though, so I could point it out anytime they had anything judgemental to say to me. And I would. Often.

LOL. It's time to get over the childhood trauma, honey! On the other hand, I so get what you mean, I *know* my parents were big drunks. Or at least my dad was.

I'd go back to medieval times. I've always wanted to experience that period first hand...lack of hygiene world and all. And WWII, I'd love to have "been" there.

I would travel to the future to find out how and when I died.
Thats ALL I want to know too.

It would give me the ultimate freedom in life. I would/could do things I have never dared to do without fear.

Yes, I could still be hurt, but dang, who cares in the end if you could live?

Ohh this is all based on the theory that you cannot change the future/past.

That plan could definitely backfire if it turned out to be sooner than one would expect.

but your knowledge about your death could change the actual time...so, because you risk more you might die earlier
And OH, I'd travel about a year into the future, find the biggest lottery pay off in that time, and play the winning numbers. Yes, it's cheating. Don't care!

Not really - if it was meant to be, at least I could/would have time to do something with it - even if its a single phonecall to a loved one...unless my death is from a heart attack caused by seeing my death.

I would go to England in the Victorian age, because I just love that era 😀
But it has to be England. Uhh, and I loved the accents they had around that time 😀

Hi! I missed ya!
I'd go to the future and bring back a robot with me, like Sonny from I, Robot. Mwuahahaha, my robot slave.. that is if they haven't revolted and taken over humanity! Gasp! =O

Bum bum be-dum bum bum.. Disturbiaaaaaa!

Well, traveling to the future to find out details about yourself would be out of the question; as any good sci-fi writer can attest, it would create the possibility of paradox, as returning with information about your future would affect current decisions thus altering your future. Honestly, if I had a time machine (excluding a DeLorean) I would sell it on eBay.

I'd go back to before my life got messed up and stop it from happening.
Then i'd go back even further and write Buffy and Angel before Joss does so that you worship me

But if you wrote it before Joss, you'd probably end up with a different cast and maybe people wouldn't go for it!
I'd bid at least five dollars for it. Then I'd travel back in time a few days, grab my dollar back, and I'd be off with my new time machine and my five dollars.

Life is pretty sweet with five dollars and a time machine.

Damn you, i was the bidder with the $4.99 bid.

If you went from point B (when you have the time machine) to point A (when you give me the money) and take the money back, then I would have never gotten paid for the time machine and you would cease to exist.

As I never got paid, you never would have had the time machine in the future, and if you never had the time machine in the future, 'you' would cease to exist since you went back in time and lost your only means of transport by taking your money back. So, not only do I still have my time machine but also a smug sense pleasure in knowing that in some fashion I killed you when you attempt to rob me. The only you that is left is the one still delusional to think you can pay five bucks for a time machine and get it for free.

Your logic does not resemble our Earth logic!
I would go back to the roarin' 20's. I've just always liked that era.

I used to be into the fifties, but then I ate at this place called Nifty 50s and had this pizza burger that made me physically sick for two days that resulted in a severe need of mine to throw up but not being able to. So, yeah...I'll just pretend the fifties never happened. ... Wait, what were we talking about again? 😉

I'd visit everything! Big historical events, eras...etc.

Oh, & I would definitely go back to where Joss decided to kill Tara and SLAP HIM. I would slap him right across the face and be like "HAY....NO. BAD JOSS."

If I had a time machine...I'd travel back in time...No, I have a plan. I'd travel back in time to when they were looking for someone to play Dawn in Buffy, I'd convince Joss I was the best, 'cause I already know half the lines and kick Michelle's butt. I'd stay back in time to film S5, 6 and 7 then come back and impress everyone by my seeming non-aging. 😉

But, seriously, time machine. I'd probably go back to when I was little and spend more time with my Grandad before he did. Sure, I DID used to see him all the time, but my memories are fading; I'd refresh them.

Grandad karma.
I wouldn't go anywhere....I know all I need to know. Plus it would be funny to push people I don't like in it and get rid of them 4eva!!!!!

I've already built a time machine next week...

First, i'd go back just a couple of weeks and meet up with myself. I'd say to me "Listen carefully, i'm from the future, when the time comes, whatever you do, DON'T cut the blue wire!" It'd be such a funny mind f**k.

Then I'd go back in time to meet up with the guy that invented the "easy peel" plastic cover for microwave meals, you know the ones that the corner just breaks off when you try and peel it, then you have to faff about with a knife to get it off and you never ever get all the plastic off and you sometimes get wee bits of it in the meal? Then i'd give him a good slap.

Oh, and i'd probably go back and register when Buffy Board was first around as well, so i'd have been around for all the cool stuff that happened way back when.

Microwave plastic karma. Grrrr!

damn plastic!
I'd probably bop around a couple of different time periods for awhile. Actually see what the people who wrote the literature I'm interested in were like and how they lived and such. Then I'd go to my own teenage years, give myself a couple of good smacks for being such a spaz, and teach myself how to interact with people. And eat better so my metabolism won't be shot and I don't have to struggle so hard with my weight. Good times.

I'd just check the next weeks lottery numbers, and write them down. Then I'd travel back to the present, and win lots of monies!

Oh, and I'd might also want to see some dinosaurs

Revolver agrees: You know, I saw a movie where seeing dinosaurs went horribly wrong.

Was that the one with the butterfly? Thunder something? Or was it Jurassic park? 😛

I would remember that if someone really could go back in time and did something out of place they could therefore change the future dramatically, however i would go to woodstock spend some time in the 60's and then go ahead to the future and see what becomes of us without having contact with anyone related to me or so on
