What would you like to see in this movie?

Lets ignore all the hate towards this movie and talk about what we would like to see, who we would like to be in the movie and who we would like attached if possible.

I want a retelling of Buffy's first days as a slayer. I don't care who's cast as long as the person can act her ass off.

Good thread. Nice change of pace. I didn't mind the story line before if they're planning on following that time frame in her life but I really just hope they take a more serious approach. And don't use Megan Fox. Kinda like to see them tell it from a new generation perspective...

Assuming that the story will, as we have so far been told, be about a different Buffy than we know, but Buffy, nonetheless, I would prefer that it be a complete departure from the tv series world. Have Buffy and her Watcher, whether Merrick or some completely new character, track down vampires, not stay in any one spot like the hellmouth. I also wouldn't mind seeing the new franchise, if that is indeed what it becomes, utilize other demon fighters, something similar to the Hunters in the "Supernatural" series. It would stand to reason that, if vampires did exist, there would be at least a few people who were aware of the situation and be attempying to do something about it.

I would wish for some sort of prequel - anyone's backstory, really. Maybe the story of some slayer, maybe something about the Master, or vengeance demons. Uhhh, or the Immortal.
So generally what I don't what is tampering with the characters as we know them and screwing them up.

I'd also want them to have totally new characters and places. i wouldn't want them messing with the canon of the show. I hope they completely stick to the rules of the Buffyverse though. Im not bothered what the story is, or who acts in it, as long as its done well. I DO NOT want any actors like the gimp who plays Edward in Twilight though. Y'know the type, all clean cut wuss's with silly hair.

If it has to be Buffy and not just some other slayer then I think I would like to see something entirely different.
A lone wolf sort of story. I imagine a sexy girl on a big black shiney motorbike driving town to town hunting the evil demons.

They could go the Star Trek route and set it up in a different dimension. Alternate universes are established in the show, so they could follow a different Buffy in this film, and still leave 'our' Buffy and its characters alone.

I like the idea of seeing the slayer that died in order for buffy to be called as well.

How about something following the Buffy from the alternate world of 'Normal Again', where she finds out that there really are vamps etc. in that world and has to use her memories of being our Buffy to combat them...it would deal with her trying to find that world's equivalents of Watchers or The Initiative...or whatever the White Hats turn out to be 🙂

If this has to happen and this way then I want a grown up Buffy, or a Buffy in her twenties. Ok, basically I want katee Sackhoff but that girl has already taken a long established and beloved male character (Starbuck from BSG) and not only did she do it with style and attitude, she blew everyone else out of the water. If we have to have another Buffy, then for me, it has to be her.

As for her parents then I would like to see a twist on the tale and have them stay together and see how they both deal with Buffy and her new found destiny. How it effect their lives from the start.

Is it going to pick up directly after the original movie? If so, then I want to know what happened with Buffy and Pike. Surely there is a story in there somewhere.

Also, I would hope that they don't make a camp villain like the original movie.

I won't view this as part of the Buffyverse as I see it but as fan fiction, and I've happened to read some mighty fine fan fics so I can give this a go too.

Yes, that's how I see the movie. If it must happen, I'm going to see it but I look at it as fan-verse, not canon stuff.

I want a much darker Buffy. I can see them easily heading off in the completely opposite direction to this but I want more of a S6-S7esk Buffy who is a darker (S6) but in total control (S7) in a super hero way. Sort of like the reintroduction of Batman. Dark works at the moment, camp...not so much.

As far as continuity, OK, i doesn't have Joss... so don't even try...start again, define it in a way that works and get writers who can make it work... The Kuzi's suck so get they should take on roles of producers and get a director with a vision.

I want it to be completely separate from the tv-show. A re-telling of the Buffy story. Limit the friends and simply have the slayer and her watcher, and maybe the slayer's family.
Also I want vampires to be scary again. Spike, Harmony, all those funny likable vampires that populated the show, with their human ways. Nope, none of that here. I want vicious vampires that kill anything that moves, to really highlight how dangerous her calling is. As the tv show progressed vampires really fell by the wayside, they didn't even seem like a threat anymore. I want some bad-ass vamps who are all about the kill, and the young girl who show's them who's boss. 🙂

Hmmm....I have to say I agree with the whole "dark buffy" idea. If it's not going to have Joss then it can't be funny the way BTVS was. Seems good to go in the opposite direction. Kate Beckinsale in Underworld.... only she's "The Slayer". Dark and brooding like she did something she'll always feel guilty for so she's dark and tormented....(kinda like Angel?) She's rogue at first but then finds meaning in something, something to fight for. Maybe it's in the future...she's been the slayer for hundreds of years. Saved the world many times....she's jaded. Maybe she doesn't believe in humanity any longer but still finds herself fighting evil....Maybe she's half vampire, half slayer....and hates herself for it.

Who knows! But if they make it it better be good!

I have to admit I have avoided reading up on the new Buffy movie, so I don't know anything about it. Writer, director or producer.

Its already been said its a remake of the origional film. not one in the past or based off the show. so it cant be based off normal agan or in the future of the show. I would hate it to be set in sunnydale. . . . . which has already been stated >_< I just dont want it messing with the TV timeline. I want merrick and other charechters. I dont want loads of her freinds getting massacred , so she goes to stop the vamps because then it would mess with the tv show. since if it happend why would she have such a relaxed attitude about the scoobies. I want it to be in the style of the show but not to mess with it. I also would like to see NO MOVIE!
