What would you want?

I'll go with a gathering... I'm too easily overwhelmed by sensory input, so the more mellow and boring, the better for my stress level. :erm2:

A shindig I guess.
If I recall correctly Oz said something about a large amount of malt beverage on a shinding. 🙂

A hootenanny is just not my thing. Never enjoyed too much hoot...

I think they all have merits and a place in time.

Usually, I'll have more gatherings than anything else. However, shindigs are great for say, someone's birthday or something smallish like that. But a hootenanny? Well you break that out for graduation, or someone leaving/coming home. The big stuff.

I honestly couldn't discredit either function, I need em all! Gatherings are great, nothing better than a chat, but sometimes you just need to stand on a table with your best friends and sing Champagne Supernova at the top of you lungs, choc full hoot...just a little bit of nanny (sw)

I'm so bloody Irish. Can't be without a party! lol

love this!
I don't really like being with many people in parties and stuff. The smallest the better. I vote for gathering, except I don't like cheese. Something mellow.

Shindig. Lil bit a this, lil bit a that. Not too crazy, but not boring. 😀

Gathering. I like small functions and the thing is, I don't really like partying with tons of people since most likely I'll only really know like a fraction of them.

I'm more of a shindig person. I like having people over, but not too many. About 15-20 friends with some music and games is my idea of a good time.

I have gatherings all the time. My house is like a hippie commune. So . . . people just convene in the kitchen and hang and talk and live. All the time.

I do like me a good old Shindig though. Have those a couple times a year.

Gathering or shindig. I'm not a very social person, so I most enjoy conversing with small groups in a low-key atmosphere (not a high-energy party).

My liver doesn't work properly, so anything other than a gathering requires preparation and recuperation time.

A hootenanny with Cait would probably leave me on water and raw vegetables for a week afterwards!

I'd rather have a..."Group meeting"

Some 3-5 people and that'll be fine. Don't like to large of a group and then having to deal with so many people I'd just make me kick most of them out.

If I wanted a shindig, or a hootenanny that could easily be done with my other friends.

Jack Daniels, Smirnoff, and all my other Alcoholic friends.

That's so many people! That many people in my house would make feel feel rather uncomfortable.

InsaneMystic agrees: so, you're slowly settling down in your ripe old age of 19?
hahaha Yes. I am. haha No... my friends and I are actually kinda not old. I just changed the people I'm friends with. I used to be friends with people who LOVED big parties, and I "loved" them too. I said they were so fun, but in reality, the most fun I had in high school was with two or three friends. But my friends had more fun with a lot of people, and I thought I was supposed to. Then I dropped those friends and now I'm friends with people like me who prefer a few people... like my two best friends who like it when we spend time JUST the three of us best.
