I was just thinking... if you could have it all. The husband/wife, the kids, the house, dream job, dream college, the EVERYTHNG that you ever wanted. What would it be? Give details!

College:
Well, me, I will start college at 17, which is great 'cause it gets things on a move real fast! lol I want to go to college at UCLA (my dream college). I want to major in Psychology and minor in Child Development. (Not because I want to work with kids, but because I want to know what best way to take care of my own kids.) I want to get at least my masters degree in Psychology. That means I will probably graduate after 6 years. And then I'll be 23.

Career:
I'll start working as a Psychologist in a private facility.

Wedding:
I want to get married at 24. I will have 8 brides maids and each of them will be wearing a different colored dress. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, and magenta. I will be wearing a white strapless gown, not to fluffy, I don't want to look like one of those crazy brides. There will be rainbow garland around, because rainbow makes me happy. There will be a fountain of water because water makes me happy. There will be tons of white roses. I'm pretty sure I've picked out songs I like... and my mom will walk me down the isle.

Kids:
I want to have my first kid at 26. (I know... I'm all structured, but things could always change of course.) I want 7 kids (Well, I'll probably have to compromise lol 😉)... I know three names I want for sure Satyana Michelle, Annalucia Elizabeth, and Alexander Wyatt. There is one more name I really like, but I won't say.

House:
I want a house with 6 bed rooms, 4 bath rooms, an attic with etra room for storage, 3 car garage, a den (movie room), a living room with a piana, 3 couches, and a recliner chair, a speaker system throught the house to make mixed tapes of everybody's favorite music, HD tv that gets all the channel, but no cooking channels, and aquarium with two sides to it and a big back yard with:
swimming pool
jacuzzi
sauna
swing set
tree house
garden
trampoline
soccer goals
and for the kids birthdays a bouncy castle
And of course I would need to pay for cell phones when the kids got older and laptops and all that jazz. I'm so going to spoil my kids...

Happily Ever After:
The End

I know... I'm insane for having that all planned out... but I have a lot of time to think... and it's just nice to know things sometimes...

Haha, Satyana! Nice :-) But why not Alyson? ;-)
College: I want to study psychology. I really do. And since I'm applaying to colleges, fingers crossed for me. My second choice is English and Literature. When I graduate I'll be 23.

Career: My love for psychology is deep, but I always wanted to be a writer. My biggest dream is to have my own publishing buisness or to have my own book store.

Wedding: I don't want to get married young. 28 is my bottom limit.

Kids: I want my first kid before I'm 30, that's for sure.. so 28, 29 is my bottom limit for a kid also. I want to have 4 kids, and that's 4 girls. Sarah Michelle, Ashley, Kimberly and Emma. For boys I like Ryan and Marc.

House: I want to live in NY. I know I want to live in center of it, but maybe I'll change my when the kids come.

You are absolutely adorable Tillow4ever! If only life could go according to plan....😎 It's awesome that you have so may aspirations! College is great but don't feel too rushed to get there. 17 is the time to live it up! 😛ha ha 7 kids! 😱 I love Rainbow...your wedding sounds beautiful!

My dream will be full of love and happiness, even more then I have right now! The big Love will find me again and I'll know its right. I'll be doing what I love every day. My friends will bring me love and I'll bring love to them. Hmmm....am I being a big sap or what??? I just watched the movie Valentines day and read on your profile that you believe in love! lol

Really, I have so many dreams....and I'm living some of them now and working on the rest. 😉 Thanks for asking!

This is an awesome thread!

College:
I've already started college, doing media, so I guess this one is crossed off as being done already.

Career:
I want to work on a variety of different TV shows (wouldn't mind films, but I think that would be a bit too busy for my liking), but I have no idea what section I want to work in. I'd like script writing, possibly directing, and maybe special effects? I think doing all the CGI would be fun!
I wouldn't mind writing novels, possibly, tie-in novels for TV shows. The Buffy and Doctor Who ones spring to mind, I love reading them and I always have ideas if I were ever to write one.
Also I'd like to create book covers (like the Doctor Who ones - they look awesome!), I think that'd be loads of fun, and I love creating different images on GIMP.

Wedding:
I haven't really thought about my wedding, I think it's a girl-thing to do (I know not all girls do it, so don't take offence! Not trying to be harsh or stereotypical, I know a lot of girls who plan their weddings), so yeah, haven't thought about it. But if I'm being honest, I don't see myself getting married, I'd like to, but I just don't see it happening.

Kids:
I'd wanna have kids young, like 24? Cos I don't want to be 50 by the time they're in their teens. But yeah, I know what names I want; For boys, it'd be Finn, Cory (yeah, I'm kinda obsessed), Jeremy, I used to like Alexander but only cos I could shorten it to Xander (Yup, 'cos of Buffy). I think the only girl names I like are Jessica and Amy.

House:
I want a house with 5/6 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. A reasonably big kitchen, which connects to both the lounge and the dining/front room. I'd want a playroom for my kids, and a big back garden as well, with swings and slides and a swimming pool would be cool (although it'd probably end up being one of the inflatable ones).

I think you get bored if you get everything you want all the time and I don't believe having an insane amount of money make you happy. (Having lots of things you enjoy is of course nice though.) So..

I want to work with what I've educated myself for, leisure time teacher (fritidspedagog), just having a bit more confidence and being a bit better at it. Being together with someone that I love and that love me back and even with our fair share of problems we always work them out. Having enough money not having to worry about it and being able to afford what we need and maybe take a trip or two each year. Don't really care if we have a house or an apartment. House is nicer but need more work. It would be nice to have a jacuzzi though. 😉

Wedding and kids aren't important to me but neither something I'm totally against.

Aside from that pesky problem with my physical presence, I think my life is pretty close to my dream... no kids, no marriage, no career all suits me perfectly. 😛

Sure, more money would never be unwelcome, but I don't much know where to spend it on anyway, so no big deal being (what Western Industrial society considers) poor, either.

Well, I don't want to get married (maybe except if it was with JM) or have kids (even though I like thinking of names, and Satyana Michelle is a great name, Tillow4ever!), so I guess my future is lonely. But it will be filled with my career as a fashion designer (hoping to grow as a business) or an actress. I have a dream to publish a book because I love writing. I would love to write my own television series. Maybe move to New York and starve for a while till I get my life settled. Oh, and I hope I won't die from heat because I suffer from it at all seasons. All bitter sweet.

Well, when I was 17, my dreams sounded alot like yours. Except I was gonna be pre med in college. I started on that path, was pre med at a very prestigious college, horribly depressed, and not at all satisfied. The summer between my freshman and sophomore year, I met a guy, made some very bad decisions, made the choice to transfer to a school back home and changed my major to native american studies, and ended up pregnant and a single mom by the age of 20. I went broke trying to make it work between me and mr. wrong, and almost gave up on my dream of college all together. I took a leave of absence from college, moved back in with my mom, and was determined that I would never realize my dreams of college and marriage and a family.

Fast forward a few months, and mr. right happens to show up on my doorstep. He was older (i was 21, he was 29), divorced and just getting his life back together. He had been through some truly rough times, and neither of us wanted anything serious. He convinced me to return to school, and I worked non stop for the next year and a half to graduate. I was a mom, a full time student, and had a "part time" job (30 hours a week avg). I never had a day off, but I was determined to reach at least two of my goals; graduate and don't get married before I graduate. Well I graduated may 16 2009 with my bachelors, and we got engaged 4 days later. We got married later that year (not the big lavish wedding I wanted as a kid, but a small ceremony with just the two of us on a beach in key west), and are now working to attain the rest of our goals. We are working on becoming financially stable so I can go back to school and get my masters and maybe even my doctorate, and really that's all I want still. I want to provide for my kids (mine plus my two step boys), and I want to learn all I can.

Life hasn't been what I planned. It's been derailed more than once. I've had to pick up the pieces and work really hard to get what I want. But the adversity that I've faced has made me appreciate what I have. I may not be rich, and I may have not done things in the order I planned, but I can honestly say I'm pretty satisfied with what I've accomplished so far and I have come to know myself and what is important to me. Don't be discouraged if your dreams don't play out how you've planned; life is rarely perfect. But set your mind to something, and you can accomplish anything in life.

Nice story :) You are an incredible woman!
On a side note my dream life would be literally like one of those dreams you have where you don't want to wake up from it cos everything in its just right. The problem is, I never remember details from those dreams except that its a good place to be 😀

As for bringing dreams into my real life, yeh it would be good to have children and a happy family, it would be good to be getting paid for doing something that is rewarding and that I enjoy doing anyway and an ideal for me I think, would be to live as self-sufficient a lifestyle as possible, growing my own vegetables using natural energy sources etc... It would also, in my dream life situation, be good to belong to a small and really friendly community, but at the same time it would be a very open-minded and new-age community, not narrow-minded and old-fashioned.

There you go, there's some of my dreams for a dream life, as unrealistic as some of them may be 🙂

I think my dream life would just have me being productive and able to finish and task I choose to do and confident. I'm still up in the air about what I want to do (even as a 23 year old who is towards the end of college), but it's look like art and writing are some things I'm still in to after all these years, so I may go that way.

So really, my dream life would be a productive, confident me. And right now, me is all I'm concerned with because if I can't be okay with myself then I can't even think about those other plans which would involve other people depending on me.

I don't have my dream life planned out as detailed as some of you.. I used to, but things changed, and then I changed, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the person yet that I will eventually turn out to be, so why put myself within these boundaries?

The only things I know are the sector I'd like to work in (publishing), the country I don't want to do this in (Germany) and that I definitely want more than one kid. I don't necessarily want to get married, I'm not even sure if I want to be with someone for the rest of my life (I'm kinda war-scarred tbh), but if I happen to meet someone who's really keen on marriage, then I'd probably do him the favour, not least because of tax reasons and security for the kids (BTW I do have some names planned out, but it all depends on the last name they'll be having. I really like Irish names, but they just wouldn't work with my German(ish) surname.)

Of course they would work with German surnames! They'll go with anything ;)
My dream life? Hmm. Well, what we want changes as we age, that's for sure. My idea of a dream life is very different now than it was when I was 12.

Actually, I'm pretty happy where I am. I have great friends, live in a great city, have a nice apartment, and a great job (I don't make much money, but it's very rewarding). The only dark cloud over my life is the fact that I might get laid off due to state budget cuts. But sans, that, I do like to view things in perspective, and I'm much luckier than most. Just ask Japan.

My dream is to write for television, but the field is so competitive I'm not holding my breath, lol.

In terms of family, I'd like to get married someday. If only I could meet the right guy...and I would like to have one child by the time I'm 30.

MY biggest concern right and cause for a lot of stress is deciding what I want to do in grad school. I can't decide between English or Counseling or Social Work. *sigh* So I guess what i decide will dictate my future plans...career-wise, anyhow.

This is interesting, I don't have a lot planned out but I've been thinking about it a bit lately. It's an interesting thing to think about, it's a shame we can't have it all.

College
Or, we call it university here in New Zealand...high schools alternative name is 'college' so...🙂 But lately my dream for this has become very structured. I want to start uni at 19, because we end high school at 18, I think you do too. I want to go to the University of Auckland. Yeah, I know...fairly boring but whatever. I want my friend Alex to get in there also and we want to dorm together. I would have two majors, Drama and English.

Career
I don't totally have a plan for this one. I want to do something creative, acting, music, or writing. But I know all these are hard. It was suggested that I be a critic to combine all of these.

Wedding
Something else I haven't planned. I want all my close friends to be Bridesmaids and I want to walk to 'Close Your Eyes' 'cause I heard someone say they did that once.

Kids
I want three girls, maybe one boy. Scarlett Paige, Maygen Louise and Beverly Hope.

And yeah.

My dream life would be as follows:

Do my Masters at Oxford. Meet a nice posh sensitive guy maybe and move to Bath (far away from home but not too far so I can still come back to see friends). I don't want to get married or have kids, but I would have a West Highland Terrier called Morrissey (Moz for short) and maybe a cat or two. Career wise I would be a successful journalist working for the Guardian, or maybe a successful screenwriter. My house would be Victorian or Georgian (being in Bath and all), but with a few modern tweaks here and there. I'd learn languages and work for Greenpeace in my spare time and the guy and I would go to Glastonbury festival every year and meet loads of randomers and make friends with them. I would be confident.

So yeah, that's the dream. I'm working on it.

My dream life would be to live a life without responsibilities and having enough money so I could do whatever I wanted during the days.

Doesn't need to be any excessive amound of money, just so I get by without worrying about saving and stuff.

Wouldn't have any problem to keep living alone in this crappy appartment even.
Not as long as I still got the fast internet connection anyway. 🙂

/SK

My absolute dream life would be to not finish college. I want to meet someone and get my big break... leave NC, go to LA set up shop and just be there.

My ideal dream/it will never happen but one can only dream world would go like this: I meet someone soon who sees my talent and offers me an opportunity for something huge. I take it and I get it. BOOM! I'm an actress. While i'm acting, I've been taking time to write...

The first thing I do with the stuff I've written is make Marching Band: The Movie. It's a huge success and people love it. I have one casting requirement in my ideal world for Marching Band: The Movie... James plays the band director. I wrote the part with him in my head (for real) and he reminds me very much of the guy the part was based on. ANYWAY...

The next thing I do with my writing will be TV. I want to create a TV show. I have three in mind. One is Claire's Choices: a show about a girl who was chosen by the Powers That Be to be people's conscious. One is The Sorcerer's Apprentice: a TV version of the movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice. And the other is Anarchy: a show about a world where the universe changes. The only rule for those on the production side, is the rules change. It's like this... I've already written the pilot... so this is how that goes... it follows five people through a mundane day in a world that looks damn like ours. And then they wake up the next day... and people fly. No one has cars, only really really rich people take planes... and everyone can just fly. This is how everyone else thinks it's always been... But those five people remember. Now, the world doesn't have to change every episode... what wold be the fun in that??? It can be for different lengths of time. It was inspired by Icarium when he posted that no one would watch a show with no rules. This is a show with no rules... hence the name Anarchy.

I think i would make Claire's Choices first... although The Sorcerer's Apprentice I feel might be a better show. Anarchy I would do after at least one of the other two had a few seasons under it's belt. and I have a few seasons of another show under my belt.

Personal life: I don't care... I just want to get married by the time I'm 35 or so and have at least one child. Other than that... I really don't care... as long as the woman I marry loves me and I love her. The way I describe it: I want to find the Tara to my Willow.
