What're You Reading Now?

Currently, I'm reading Terry Pratchett's latest Discworld book "Making Money". I also have a few other books on the "to read" pile, including "Lisey's Story" and a Doctor Who encyclopedia.

OMG, let's don't start on the "To Read" pile! My piles are taking over my room!
I'm reading "Fairest" by gail carson levine! Its really good! of course i already read it before but i'm currently having a book crisis....I've read almost every book in my very large book case!!
 
I'm reading 'Hearts in Atlantis' by Stephen King. 🙂 After that it's onto 'Bridget Jones' diary'.

On the side, I'm reading a 'Choose your fate' Buffy book; 'The suicide king'... I keep dieing and having to turn around!

I'm also reading my parents "joss whedon existential" or something like that! kinda confusing lol but cool!
 
Just finished 'The Scrolls of the Ancients: Vol III of the Chronicles of Blood & Stone' by Robert Newcomb.

There is another trilogy, 'Destinies of Blood & Stone', that follows on from it but I haven't got round to buying them yet, so now yet again, I have nothing to read - it's that bad I've resorted to reading my son's Artemis Fowl books that he had for Christmas, till I can find something else. 'lol'

I also just finished The Book of the Dead by Patricia Cornwell, which I read over 2 nights whilst reading The Scrolls of the Ancients.

As I read so quickly I usually like to find a series of books so I have something to look forward to. It looks like I may have to resort to reading something off our bookcase that I have already read a dozen times before. :drunk:

The Book of the Dead is brilliant!
I've just finished reading the New Who books "Peacemaker" Which was awsome!,"Wishing Well and "The Pirate Loop" and now I must get back to reading Terry Prachett's Thud I negect that in fav of the Who books! before I get the lastest Robert Goddard Novel which are brilliant BtW.
 
I'd lie and say I was reading Stephen King's IT, but Old Master III would point out that that books about scary clowns and blow my cover. On a side note, I am still not over my clown fear 😉

Seriously, I've just finished reading I Don't Know How She Does It by Allison Pearson. Its about a working mother of 2 and how she juggles being a mum, working and a husband. It's a very scary book in a completely different way to IT 🙂
 
Did you see there was a thing on Yahoo today about how most kids hate clowns lol

I'm reading The Moonspinners by Mary Stewart, which was made into a Disney film years ago but I'm finding is quite different from the film.

There was something on TV about it today when I got in from work, but I didn't keep the channel on to watch it lol My fear has gotten that bad that I can't even watch kiddie clowns lol

I'm just waiting for my delivery of L.K.Hamilton's 'Lick of Frost' so I can read that and then I'll be unto date with my Merry series 🙂

I have that problem, too. Luckily, I can't get enough of The Lion, The Witch, etc and that whole series...and DUNE, of course, so I just pick those up when I run out of stuff to read, LOL!
 
I forgot to mention another book that's in my "to read" queue:

"The House that Hugh Laurie Built",by Paul Challen. This book does for House-aholics what Keith Topping's "Slayer" does for hardcore-or casual-"Buffy" fans: act as a comprehensive,unofficial guide to the series. Name it,the book has it...bios of the stars,recaps of the episodes from numerous angles,etc.

my wife reads actual books. maybe i should post what she reads, then maybe i wont sound so nerdy.

On a novel right now called "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman. Very... into the rabbit hole kind of stuff. Started a little slow, getting better. Afterwards i dont know if im going to go with another novel or start reading one of my buffy-centric books, i just got The Monster Guide of all the buffy monsters and Fighting The Forces. So, we'll see.

Switched today to Robert Louis Stevenson'd Selected work collection that include: The Suicide Club, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Master of Ballantrae.

Ah, the pile of books-to-read just keeps growing.
 
I read most of the harry potter series lately...still got the last one but it's gonna have to wait. Never been a fan of the movies (that's why I didn't read the books sooner) but the series itself is pretty decent.

Getting back to school now so it's all academic reading for me now. All books you guys have probably never heard of about Native Americans and the injustices of the US government, tribal law, philosophy, Native stories and accounts, etc. Do check out anything written by Vine Deloria Jr. if you are interested in the topic, especially if you hate the US. Otherwise you won't be a very happy camper

So far, it's good. I'm a little annoyed by all the Nietzsche, but he is a major philosopher even if I don't agree with him so I guess I can forgive them. I'm only on the third essay so far, though. It's slow reading when you're researching a thesis. 🙂
