I started rereading The Neverending Story, which was my all-time favorite book when I was a kid.

That's what I hear. I was a Creative Writing major... I got to do a creative project (a novel) instead of a thesis! Muahahaha.

I could have chosen to do that; my school lets M.A. students decide, but my thesis adviser thought the department head wouldn't let me "because of the quality of my academic writing." He figured the department head would think I was wasting my "talent" on a creative thesis and fight me every step of the way.

Oh, well; if I end up getting my M.F.A. later, I can do a creative thesis then.

"How To Meet Cute Boys" by Deanna Kizis. It's cute and fluffy, meant to be read fast and forgotten even faster.

I'm reading Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire for the nth time (I'm in the middle of exams and getting to read a HP chapter after finishing 20 pages or so is really motivating)

Other then that I'm also reading Philip Pullman's Northern Lights for fun. After I've finished those I think I'll read something in Dutch again, maybe some Lulu Wang or a translation of a Haruki Murakami.
I also Have Kate Mosse's Labyrinth lying on my nightstand (under Rowling and Pullman XD)

Oh, bought 6 more books, after I finish Stevenson, I'd switch to Russian Gothic. Ultimate classics of Russian Horror tradition, which was extremelly popular right before October Revolution.

So lucky I'm fast-reader - else it'd take ages for me to read all this pile.

Yup. I actually saw the movie first. That's what made me want to read the book. I enjoyed the book even more than I enjoyed the movie!

That said, I saw that they're making an Americanized version of the movie. Instead of using kids, they're using buff action hero guys. Ick. That ruins like everything that made the book unique!

I just finished reading March by Geraldine Brooks. It's a good read, even for those who haven't read or didn't enjoy Little Women but are interested in fiction concerning the American Civil War. It's well-written. The characters are well-drawn. It deals with its very challenging subject matter in an honest, interesting, and insightful manner.

Sadly, I'm one of those that just watches lately. I haven't read much since Deadly Hallows. I just can't concentrate with kids interrupting me every 5 minutes. I did start reading The Golden Compass. I think I'm on chapter 4. But then my Buffy comics came and I read all of them, lol. And now I have "The Psychology of Joss Whedon" to read and as my husband keeps reminding me I have a "Bones" book (one based on the TV show) and a Kathy Reichs (one from her actual series) to read but I haven't started either.

Last thing I was actually reading was from the Buffy Omnibus 2. Sad, so sad. Oh, and of course reading "Ivy and Bean" to my 5yo and some book called "Grampa vs Dracula" to my 6yo son (which was one of the funniest books I have ever read).
