The Kind Life, Alicia Silverstone's awesome (cook) book. I'm in the intro's, almost at the recipe's!

Boy A, about a grown man who was charged for a murder of a girl as a child who is now discharged into society under a new identity. His past catches up to him when he does something heroic to draw media attention.

just started the Game Of Thrones series of books- i think its up to five books 🙂

also trying to finish off The Secret Life of Elizabeth Tudor

just bought Baseball Without Borders...

also trying to get into another called Annette Vallon by James Tipton

Hopefully i can finish all these before summer is over 🙂

I just had to read 'The Wave' for English class and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The fact that it's a true story is just like, mindboggling and makes it so much better. The whole thing is pretty freaky and I just loved every second I spent reading it.

I got my copy of the book late and my class started reading it the week before last and finished it yesterday...I got mine yesterday, started reading it yesterday and finished it yesterday. Yes, I did.

Reading Macbeth for school and wow, I am getting so annoyed with my class. The next person who complains about Lady M being an "annoying bitch" will get the evil eye from me. I soooo disagree. She's fabulous and morally grey and wonderful. My favorite kind of villain.

I just got The Portable Dorothy Parker today too. Just reading it on my own though, not for school or anything. I haven't been able to just read things for myself in a while...
 
I just finished The Cellist of Sarajevo for school, which I loved. Now I am reading Into the Wild. I saw the movie years ago and stumbled across the book while going through my bookcases to donate novels to Africa.
 
Re-reading The Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. Haven't read them since I was young. I stole it off my dad's bookshelf. He has a huuuge collection of sci-fi/fantasy hardcovers, and my mom has got rid of none of them since he died. So I'm keeping the Pern books for myself. 🙂 Unfortunately the edition I'm reading is a one-volume collection of the 1st 3 books, and the print is really small! Seriously I think I need a magnifying glass- I feel so old!
 
"Ghost Light" by Joseph O'Connor, about an affair between Irish playwright J.M. Synge and a young actress from the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. I'm reading it for this month's Irish book club but so far I'm not terribly impressed. I know Maire is supposed to be all spirited and saucy and perky, but talking to Yeats (!) like that she just comes across as an obnoxious, presumptious brat who doesn't know her place.

I'm still going to finish it though, it has a few funny lines.
 
Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. I LOVE her. And I had never read this book, so when I got it as one of the four free books my school gave to promote summer reading, I was so excited. It's a bit below my level, and the chapters are short as heck, but I am still loving it.

I read that in middle school I think. I remember the cover freaked me out lol but it was so thrilling and good!
Right now I'm reading Sky Magazine...I need to get to the library ASAP. Just finished catching up on Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta series. I have a plan to get caught up with my favorite authors, then branch out a bit.
