Allright, for my Finance class I have to do the numbers on a fictitious startup cable channel. So I need to decide what kind of channel it will be (sports, music, etc.)

Anyone have any ideas for me? Allycat already suggested porn 😛

How about a channel devoted solely to shows made by Joss Whedon. It seems that might be the only way to keep them on the air.

Hmm how about reality tv that way they can throw them all on that channel and leave the rest of them for decent shows.

hmmm....

i don't really know...everything is sort of covered....but...if you want to make the most money...just gotta go for the teenies...probably an mtv concept would go the furthest for doing that...maximizing profits...

It doesn't matter really if its covered, cause actually I am supposed to look at other channels as examples when I do my number stuff 🙂

In that case can we have have a really good sci-fi/genre channel - that could include Whedonverse stuff.

Maybe combine Whedonverse shows with lots of music??nd a lot of place devoted to Buffy/Angel merchandise🙂

How about a channel with cult shows? Sci-fi, fantasy, spy, etc.

How about a station for quality television that has disappeared. Stuff like Buffy, Angel, Wonderfalls, Lone Gunmen, Duckman, Andy Richter, Greg the Bunny, The Tick. And not just failed TV Series; miniseries like Stephen King book events or Roots, even the odd quality Made for TV movie that has disappeared.

A channel for quality drama programs and like every saturday or something have a film. Cant thing of a current channel like that at the moment though.

A channel dedicated to dating shows like Marry Me For Money, There's Something About Miriam et cetera. It can be the dumping ground for c**p TV.

That's a good idea 🙂 The idea I had was a movie channel to show UK films in the US. Cause like we have BBC America which is really popular, which shows UK TV shows.

I'd like to see a channel dedicated to all forms of rock/punk/metal/etc. Throw some Beavis and Butthead..a little Jackass...and some extreme sports in and we're good to go. As long as there's none of that mass-produced pop and rap stuff, or glossy "music countdowns"...it'd be perfect.
