Dawn does the dirty with something called a thrice-wise. So people are asking, what's a thrice-wise? Near as I can figure there were a race of Giants in Norse mythology called Jotuns. One of them at least was called Mimir, and considered "thrice wise". Odin gave up his eye to him to gain wisdom.

Individuals were expected to pursue the hero's path themselves, seeking for wisdom in a heroic manner suggested by the fierce trials of Odin himself. The codes they followed in life were based on magical sayings passed down through the exemplary stories of gods and champions. Nothing could be taken for granted. Everything had to be won. Even Odin had to pledge his eye to obtain the wisdom of the Jötun giant Mimir. Sitting at the feet of the thrice-wise Jötun, beside the well of wisdom, he gave up his eye that it might rest there in the primordial waters, like the sun floating in the sea of life. Looking back at himself through this eye, he experienced self-conscious knowledge. He could look simultaneously through the eye of eternity and the eye of time, the single eye remaining in his head being oddly reminiscent of the third orb of Rudra-Shiva.

I know it all, Odin,
Where you hid your eye
deep in the wide-famed well of Mimir;
Every morning
does Mimir drink mead from Valfader's
pledge.

TG Jotuns (Scand.). The Titans or giants. Mimir, who taught Odin magic, the "thrice wise", was a Jotun.

Oo interesting. I guess that's where Joss might have come up with the 'great muppity odin' line also.. it seemed out of place to me anyway. Wonder how long Dawn will be a giant for.

Perhaps its a thing with 3 thingies. Cause that's just the way Dawn rolls.

Am I go to hell if I start wondering how exact Dawn got dosed so she got bigger? I mean, she's 18 right? I can think those thoughts right?

lol, I was wondering if he was a giant at the time of their relationship 😛 cause ouch

That line confused me too...I'm still confused. Can anyone enlighten me?

Well, they didn't know that he was a thricewise, right? Well, Giles & Buffy did over the phone, but Dawn didn't. So maybe they were dating and when they had sex... I'm guessing she turned huge afterwards. I know I would probably be "out of the mood" if I transformed into a giant during sex... Hopefully Dawn will be turned back by Willow or something by the end of the first arc.
