What's in a username?

Okay, so when I was 16-18 I was heavily into the Perth music scene and somehow got myself a slightly bad reputation so after my boyfriend dumped me I decided to take a break from everything and just kind of hide away while all the rumours died down. Then a beauty of a rumour cropped up around the music scene - that I had died. The rumours of the death went from the vaguely realistic (car accident), to the downright obsurd (drug overdoses and to much kinky sex rumours aplenty).

Back in those days everything was still myspace centred, so I changed my myspace nickname from cait to caitaintdead so I didn't have to keep explaining to people that I was alive. After that it just kind of stuck, I thought it had a good ring to it and people started friendly referring to me as my myspace name (which happened a pathetic amount of time back in the day).

When I signed up I had never joined any type of forum before and was on myspace so just signed up as caitaintdead. Here endeth the lesson.

Mine's boring. It's my name with 'ieh' stuck on the end. It all started because my friend Charlie was using the username Charlieh, and so I felt the need to match her in some way! Sometimes on other boards/places it changes to Bixieh. Bix is my cat's name 🙂

I had finished watching Buffy/Angel when I found this board. I loved Cordy's character in ATS, & in Untouched she tells Angel, "You can't fire me. I'm vision girl." I'm a girl, I'm even a brunette (but look nothing close to Cordy/Charisma, she's gorgeous!). So there you go. I had no idea at that time that we had a "VisionGuy" here, and I even ended up in Merrick LOL! Disclaimer: I am not related to him in anyway, nor do I really know him very well although I'm sure he's a neat person. 🙂

Oh also because if I had a superpower I'd want Buffy's (super strength/speed/agility etc), but instead I'd just be the snarky sidekick making unhelpful sarcastic comments, and then get visions that I don't want, can't handle, nor could I understand. And I'm a migraine sufferer, so you can see how Cordy and I are exactly alike!

LOL! Well, if it helps, I do feel that there are some hormonal components to my migraines (worse during certain parts of my cycle, worse at the beginning of pregnancy then disappearing in later pregnancy, worse on birth control pills, etc).

... I'm guessing taking is a reference to "Taake". It has nothing to do with taking 🙂 It's a band that I love (Norweigans. Taake is a derivation of the word 'tåke' which means fog.)

There is this little game thing called Isketch (isketch.net). You have to guess what people are drawing. I went to sign in my username, I looked at a yellow smiley face sticker on my bulletin board which reminded me of Walmart because they give those out. And Hazzaahh!! Walmart was born! 😀

When I need to come up with a username for something, I like to generate in my head interesting words. I usually pick 2 word usernames. The two words don't have to make sense, it should be intersting and hopefully original. Sometimes I would pick something that is related to the subject, like here it's related to Buffy. Chosen has a relation to Buffy, and Enemy... the show has many of them on it. And I think it's interesting, and it's fun! Sometimes I would pick something funny or ironic. I don't like something blunt, not the first thing that comes up in my head. I would really give a thought into that.

Usernames

This relates back to the last user name topic, I know a lot of peoples user names come from buffy, but what was/is your impression of that user name in the post above?

NOT the person, just the user name.

For an example I'll pick on my friend Alie, (seeing red), I would have thought she'd be an angry person, "seeing red" is normally what someone does when theyre really angry. Of course, Alie is lovely!
