What's In Your Pockets?

Well see, my purse broke and I haven't gotten a new one. SO I have money, id, and little perfume sample spray card things. The only one thing that would be in my pockets if I had a purse would be the perfume thing. Also when I'm out and about I use my pockets for my phone and my headphones. If I had a purse, I'd use it for my headphone... god knows it's a safer place for them. and I'd still use my pocket for my phone because it's a safer place for that.
 
I usually have a ponytail holder (hair tie thing, if that doesn't translate globally hahaha) cause I'm constantly putting my hair up, then taking it down cause I'm fickle like that.

I have a hair tie in my hair or on my wrist at all times
I personally hate carrying a purse when I go out. I usually stick my wallet, headphones, chapstick, and my cellphone in my pockets.

I usually carry a purse. But, when I'm at the mall shopping, I need to have my phone in my pocket on viberate because that's the only way I'll know when somebody mom calls.
 
I many women don't have anything in their pockets on jeans and such because if you as a women wear many of the pants that are advertised as "womens pants" they are often a lot tighter than the pants advertised as mens pants. Many times I feel like my pockets on pants are just for show, if I have anything in them that isn't like a piece of paper it will dig in to my thigh and hurt.

I do have things in the pockets of my jackets and coat's though. Mostly things I need easy access to, like keys, my phone and my headphones.

Since I abhor carrying around a purse, I do tend to stash things in my pockets. Today, I had money, a lighter, and a piece of paper with all of my classes for next semester written on it.

I have some pants where the pockets are literally just for show. They're so tiny and tight. And of course, in women's pants, it's much more common to find no pockets....

I can go one better than that. I have several vests with about a dozen pockets each for when I'm either hiking or just knocking around away from home. I can carry snacks, notebook and pens, camera, basic first aid supplies, a disposable rain poncho, and just about anything else that I might need.

I love having supplies with me like that.
Women carry purses for just that occasion. Men don't wear purses, so they stuff their pockets. The only thing usually in my pocket is my cell phone, and that's only so I can feel it vibrate.

Awww, that sounds so adorable! I can just picture you on a hike all proud of all your pockets! :heart: (note: I'm not saying this ironic or in a condencending way, I really do find it very heart warming!)

On another note: how come many men don't carry purses? Wouldn't that make things a lot easier for you? There's only so much room in ones pockets I mean. I've had boyfriends who actually didn't even want to hold my purse 'cause they've been afraid someone might think it was theirs. Come on!

If there's not enough room in our pockets, we wear vests with more pockets. Or when we carry purses, we call them "messenger bags" or "musette bags," or "possibles bags." But, seriously, I think that it's one of those traditional things from back when the man had to keep his hands free in order to use his weapons to protect the women who were carrying purses. Men had belt pouches for small items like money or extra ammunition, and those evolved into pockets. Women never wore belt pouches because they rarely carried things like that. Even back then, the men had to buy everything. Though I've seen lots of men carrying messenger bags when they travel, usually containing a book, and/or a netbook computer and whatever other bulky items won't fit in pockets.

That made me laugh, thinking of "The Hangover" when one of the guys has a bag and he defends it by saying "It's a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one" 🙂
