I can live with only existing for part of the time - ended up in the Student Union bar after college with a few mates [well, ish]. and actually had a good time. I was pretty much included in the small group, and yeah I had to push a bit, but I found it a lot easier to accept that I'm just different than in the past couple weeks.
And making someone feel better made me happy - one of the guys who did his recital today cocked it up in a major way, t'only one to do so, and he was sitting there on his own crying afterwards, when we were all leaving. I felt bad for him, for some reason [he's 18, and didn't prepare for it nearly as well as he should have, so the whole crying this is partially his fault], so I went over, gave him a hug and told him he was better in a band situation. A bit of 'exaggerated truth' never did anyone any harm. Made me happy how sincerely he was when he thanked me for basically taking 2 minutes to not ignore someone who's really upset. Makes you realise how rare it can be for someone to stop and care, I guess.
