- The Tarot cards that Drusilla consults are not real ones. Writer Marti Noxon had no idea what images were used on real Tarot cards so she just made up whatever images were necessary for her plot.
- Buffy has a stuffed pig named Mr. Gordo, and went through a phase when she was younger during which she idolized ice skater Dorothy Hamill.
- That the head recruiter's plane was delayed at Seattle/Tacoma Airport implies that "the world's leading software concern" for which Willow and Oz are being recruited is in fact Microsoft Corporation, which is based near Seattle.
- The book that was stolen by the blonde vampire in "Lie To Me" is one of the main elements of this episode.
- Sunnydale has at least one bar which is aware of and caters to the town's vampire population. Willy the bartender also seems to be aware of the connection between Angel and Buffy.
- Willow has frog fear. Also known as ranidaphobia.
Goofs:
- One of the assassins of the Order of Taraka is shown getting off a bus. In a wide shot, the steps are one color with signs reading "Watch your step". In the close up, the steps change color and the signs are missing.
- When Angel is in Buffy's room, he walks by a mirror and we can see his reflection.
- The shot of the 'suitman' in the house of his first victim, shows his 'maggot-arm' turning into a human one, hand to just under the armpit. His arm shows no sleeve. In the shot right after that, he reaches for his cup of tea and you can see that his sleeve is rolled up to his elbow.
- The first attacker of the Order of Taraka, drops 'dead' on the ice, but when Angel inspects the attacker's ring, you can clearly see him breathing.
- After killing the would be assassin on the ice, Angel has his vampire face. The way he talks to Buffy makes it seem that he has no control over when his face will change back by saying she shouldn't have to touch him when he's vampirish. But in other episodes with him and other vampires we see that they can change to and from their vampire selves at will.
