What's the first thing you're doing when the pandemic ends?

Pandemic? What pandemic? I've been sat at my computer writing stories, I have loads of inspiration for new stories many fail about page twenty though, still they might be fodder for future inspirations. That is the benefit of writing stories of similar subjects = ghosts, witches and vampires.
I go out to buy food, to the doctors and the chemists.

The pandemic that is somewhat more noticeable in a wee country sharing land borders with three other countries than on a huge island that has apparently been very efficient in keeping their borders closed lately.

As opposed to a small island that made a complete and utter balls-up of the whole thing - despite having adopted the mantra "take control of our borders" six years ago. 🙄 Honestly, with all the fracas about Scottish Nationalism and the Northern Ireland "problem", we'll have more borders than you could shake a dead cat at. God forbid Wales throw their hat into the ring. I'm heartily sick of the word "borders".

In all honesty, it hasn't made a great deal of difference to me...other than give me a valid reason for being anti-social. I just want the freedom to go where I want and do what I want (within reason) - doesn't mean I'll necessarily avail myself of the opportunity (damned sure I won't). What do they say about not realising what you had until somebody takes it away?

I think lots of people (understandably) miss hugs but I've had a metre exclusion zone around me for...well forever. I'm thinking about extending that exclusion zone by buying a boat.

I'm not entirely convinced that even with the vaccines (which look set to be a catalyst for the next world European war) we'll ever get back to "normal" normal.

Oh look...the new normal...which looks a lot like "put a gazebo up in a car-park" to me. On the plus side...there's a street in Manchester called "Cakebread St" - conceptually, that's where I live.

I think that you are right, there will be a lot more surveillance on the people and COVID measures might become guidelines for every winter going forward.
