Hey, I grew up around a couple of women - my mother and her mother - who both did a lot of knitting and embroidery! 😀

I love Vervaco embroidery, which also costs a pretty penny, but I do love their patterns

I would love to be able to design my own embroidery patterns, and then sell them on Etsy! Not as kits, but just as patterns - I have bought some bookmark patterns myself, and that would probably be where I started. That might earn some extra pennies with something you only have to do once.

Most pattern designing software I have found is either not that great, if you are planning on making the patterns commercially, or really pricey! I have been wondering whether it would just be easier designing them in some graphics software.

I actually found some of my great grandmother’s old embroidery ”books”, which are big catalogues from which you can copy partial patterns, shapes, and lettering to make your own patterns.

I’m not good enough to really freestyle like that, even with help, but I love flipping through them either way. So many beautiful pieces of inspiration

Maybe one can find similar books in used shops or online where you are?

I am pretty sure my mother must have something along those lines; I did things just from patterns, not kits, as a child, so she must have pattern books. I should have looked at the weekend! Online would be another option.

@Taake You know that knitting has risen a lot in popularity amongst younger people? 😀 It might be the ability to make your own clothes cheaply that appeals.
I actually took up knitting during COVID lockdown. I only got as far as making a couple of scarves, but still.... 😂

Knitted dishcloths are great and supposedly one of the easiest designs to knit, and I do need some more. But I need to remember the stitches before I can follow the instructions!

Huh, interesting, I might have to look that one up! And make sure you check out YouTube for a refresher!

And they you have to deal with all the knobheads who buy the pattern thinking they are buying the finished product 😭

My family thinks crochet, knitting and embroidery is lame 😂 No one in my family has ever done any of this stuff. They pat me on the head like the good mental patient I am for doing crafts at all.

The last thing I made was a breeding mop for the fish. I am NOT telling my family about that, just gives them more ammo.

If you sell anything online at any point you will find out a certain percentage of people are apparently capable of neither reading nor thinking. "I thought I was buying the finished product delivered for £1 even though the description made it utterly clear this was not the case and anyone capable of thinking would realise the price was less than the postage."

They are just jealous you can make things! 😀

Sure, you can buy the things but there is a pleasure in making and seeing what you made.

I know some of you (especially Europeans) aren't keen on Hershey's choclate, but think their chocolate works well caramel.
Was yummy! Now don't get me wrong I 🧡the Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello Bar! This is just another tasty option 🙂

I feel called out. But to be fair, I've only tried Hershey's white chocolate and white chocolate is so-so at best in any brand.

I am (almost; I draw the line at chocolate covered insects) always willing to give chocolate a try!

Although that has not always worked out well...

😀

Your new avatar made me think I was on an acid trip for a second 😅
Will be visiting Chicago in May. Be meeting up with my BFF who lives a few hours away! Yay!
Going to go to Cubs game at famous Wrigely Field! Will, of course, be sampling some local foods! 🙂

I saw another little baby fry fish in the poo pond. I couldnt catch it. Its not testing as bad as I thought it would considering whats in it! But it will be a miracle if that little fish survives in that kiddy pool. Its unbalanced and half tipping into the garden, so little fishie has to live its life in escape of the waterfall.

Hahahahah the news reader choked on her words while revealing Robert Irwins new Bonds adverts.
I saw it on insta but thought it was AI.

I can't believe he's THAT grown up!
Just learned (from recent Food That Built America episode) that Orange Chicken isn't actually from China!
Learned in the last few years that chicken tikka masala wasn't actually invented in India
Next thing yer gonna tell me that Mexican tacos don't have cheese & sour cream or that pizzas in Italy don't have pepperoni 😵

Went to Ross for a new nightgown. As I was leaving, the cashier said, "Hey lady! You left your debit card in the machine."

This is getting so stupid! I REALLY need to slow down and pay attention.
